We stayed in this place for one night during our honeymoon in Italy. The location is nice even though a bit hard to find, it’s hidden behind the big gate. Alexis was very helpful with the luggage and welcomed us with the introduction, in the room there was a book with suggestions for dining places and sightseeing. We loved the style , it looks quite impressive with the high ceilings and big windows, feels like you’re staying in the museum. The breakfast was nice for B&B, too. The music playing gives you special vibes. That was really a unique experience! The only disadvantage for us was the noise from the street, it was super loud until 3 a.m., couldn’t fall asleep for a while. We also suggest to provide two types of pillows for the guests, ours were very hard to sleep on. Apart from that, everything was good. 👍🏽

Horrendous. Looks are deceiving. The breakfast was horrible moldy fruit, cook your own eggs which were left unrefrigerated for days, make your own coffee and eat daily the same food until all gone. The whole breakfast room reeked of cigarette smoke. Our room was Musty moldy room chocolate on pillow on arrival was ancient. Host left and in Charge was a non helpful inexperienced chain smoking girl. We actually checked out early from a prepaid stay. Buyer beware.

Alexis was very attentive and resolved any small problems that might have soured a very wonderful stay in Salerno during this city’s magical Christmas lights display…Plus the restored beauty of the rooms put a regal atmosphere to the whole experience and that final touch of a decorated Christmas tree in each room, made the season whole….

Excellent property and the staff was amazing. Helped to point us in the right direction to discover the city. Huge room and felt like we were staying in a home vs a hotel. Plenty to see nearby and room was clean and updated bathroom

Superb in all ways. Set in a beautiful, historic building with bedroom ceilings and walls adorned with stunning frescos. Rooms were filled with handpicked antique furniture. Beds were huge, comfortable and dressed with quality linen. The host is a really cool chap who has a wealth of knowledge re restaurants, the ferry lines, and local attractions. Highly recommended!

This property is a hidden gem. The proprietor, Alexis, has thought of literally everything. This would make an excellent home base from which to explore the Amalfi coast. Wish we had stayed a couple of days but had to be back to Rome early the next day for a flight. Alexis was up early and had breakfast for us and saw us off. His recommendations for bars, restaurants and sights in Salerno made our brief stay memorable and guarantees a return. Cannot understate how cool the property is and how wonderful the location is to get out into Salerno.

This is a gem of a stay in Salerno! Alexis was a fantastic host and made sure we got to the hotel safely and was very responsive via messaging. The hotel itself is gorgeous, clean, and we felt like royalty in our room with the most beautiful murals on the ceilings. The view of the street and the recommendations in the book Alexis put together were much appreciated. Definitely would recommend staying here.

Casa Santangelo is a beautiful bed and breakfast, warmly run and owned by Debbie.our room was huge, very comfortable and the air conditioning worked great. The breakfast was delicious. It’s location was great, close to everything we wanted to see. The Casa has been remodeled but with original style decor left in place. I felt like I was staying in the Sistine Chapel. Just beautiful. Also, there are many spots for a drink or great food right within a block or two. You do have to walk up stairs to get to Casa Santangelo, just in case you have mobility problems. Debbie let’s you make a coffee or tea whenever you choose. And she helps with anything and everything. We only had time to stay 2 nights. I wish we could have stayed longer. Something about Salerno. We loved the city. It is ancient but clean. It is on the direct train line from Rome so getting here was easy. Also, many ferries connect from Salerno to the Amalfi Coast. And there are many centuries old buildings and places to visit.
