Le Cro-Bidou

Positive: welcoming staff, room has lovely decoration and is comfortable, breakfast buffet very good and varied. We didn't get a room with view on the lake despite being written in the confirmation email, but in the end we preferred it that way because lake view means above the restaurant's terrace, so less quiet than at the back. The outsides are so quiet that we woke up to birds songs. Dogs are welcome and free, which is rare. Areas to relax and read around the hotel. Good starting point for hikes & mountain visits in the area. Food at the restaurant was good, but heavy local dishes. Negative: Bathroom a bit old but clean. Downside of the room at the back is that it became very hot and you have the kitchen smells when you open the windows in the evening to cool down. Internet not working and staff suggesting to use 4G instead (expensive without a full international data package!). Potentially noisy with the attraction park on the lake when it is open? (July-August) One negative point but not really on the hotel's side: Some people left their small dogs alone in their room for a long time and they barked the whole evening until late. Both annoying for us as we could hear them very well and sad for the dogs to be left in an unknown place for so long! I hope that the hotel director said something to the dog owners. We travel with our dog and try to keep him with us and quiet as much as possible (it's never 100%, it's not a machine!) to respect other customers and the hotel staff who might not like dogs... or else next time dogs won't be allowed anymore!
