Hôtel Mercure Rouen Centre Champ-De-Mars

Rouen|0.5km from Enseignement Technologique en Pharmacie
Easy on-site parking and 10-15 minutes walk to the historical center. Very grumpy, slow and inefficient check-in. Nobody noticed that I am a Silver member or the ”request” in my reservation. Therefore, I had to ask for a welcome drink and was allocated in a room facing the backyard. Cheapie attitude as they provide only one welcome drink for the card-holder ...even if the room and breakfast is paid for two persons... and I gave up waiting for the bar-tender to get my beer. Seriously, how much would it cost you to offer an extra soft-drink? If you do it on purpose so that the customer has to pay the abnormally high price you charge for a beer, then it is simply a bad policy which has negative impact on welcoming attitude. Shower only and an-all around ”detergent” suitable for hair, body ... and probably also dishes and car-wash. Usually in 4* hotels you have branded amenities and full-size bathtub. Even when there is a shower only, the installation is better and it doesn't require that the tenants must mop the floor every time after using it. Therefore, bad value for money, especially since you get almost the same at an IBIS with 35% cheaper rate. Excellent breakfast in every aspect ...variety of dishes and quick replenishment. Sleep comfort and air-conditioning were very good and that saved the day ... or the night :-) - IF I will be ever returning to the area, I will either choose the adjacent IBIS with river view, or a similar priced centrally located hotel.

Stayed here for a weekend with my wife and 2 kids. The location is great, middle of the city with every thing on your door step. Inexpensive and with parking. Pros Parking/location but be aware the car park is very very narrow. We had a 4x4 which was near impossible to fit in but with a lot of patience and guidance managed it. A nervous driver even in a small car would struggle. If driving there are bollards that you need a code for to drive in to the centre. I used Waze and found the hotel no problem although i had to call the emergency button for the bollards. You ideally need a map and access code ahead of travelling, hotel said they sent this but we didnt receive it. So yes location and parking are a pro but they could quite easily because a problem. Price- under £100 a night for 4 people with breakfast. Room - fold out sofa to bunk beds and a double bed. Perfect set up. Cons Parking - if driving as above this could be more hassle than its worth. If i was returning id bring a smaller car. Room - the set up was great but they are in meed of a revamp. A tad old and grubby Breakfast- continental selection was good, cooked food was limited.

Hotel de Quebec

Rouen was our last stop to break up a long journey back to Calais, we needed a convenient hotel located close to the city centre to squeeze in a bit of sightseeing. Hôtel de Québec was a great choice, the location was perfect and the hotel was clean and very comfortable, it seemed to have been very recently renovated and we took a family room for the 4 of us. We found the owners to be very polite and helpful. Although we speak French, their English is excellent! It is a bit noisy if you have to open the windows, that’s the trade-off for a city centre location. But a powerful fan was provided and that made our room cool enough. Breakfast was really nice, plenty of choice and a reasonable price. We’d definitely stay again.

A good clean and simple hotel. A brilliant location with its on car park, if you are parking at the hotel car park the spaces are very tight. The hotel is in a great location easy walking distance to the cathedral and other attractions. We’ve used this hotel as stop over on our way back to Calais from The LoireI and it was perfect, only 2 hours away. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The breakfast, it did not miss anything however 20 euros it is very expensive. The spa, however the rest room a little small, only 4 chairs available. The room, perfect, spacious, tasteful, very well equipped, however the mini-bar was empty except for two free 25 ml bottles of water. No coffee machine, only a small electric kettle with a bag of chocolate, three bags of nescafé, two bags of tea, two bags of sugar...... times are hard. The restaurant is very good. Didn't like - On my way out I had the bad luck to run into a lady with glasses who was not very pleasant. After checking the bill, I noticed that the two dishes (of the day) consumed in the restaurant were charged to me at 29 euros a piece, whereas they were displayed on the card at 18 euros and on the poster in the elevator at 18 euros. I remarked to her, her colleague, who had followed the conversation next to her, told her to credit me 22 euros, because the error (if there is one) is attributable to the establishment. In spite of that, this lady is obstinate and categorically refuses to credit me the 22 euros. I go in the elevator and take a picture of the card, show her that my statements were correct, she still refuses to credit me by inventing some lame excuse. So I didn't insist anymore and paid 22 euros more than I really owed. I am very disappointed by the non-commercial attitude of this employee and therefore of the hotel, and I have the photos of my bill and the card available to anyone who wants them to guarantee the veracity of my story. The hotel has a parking lot, but beware, paying 16 euros per day ........... The heating in the room is not adjustable, there is a thermostat, but whether you increase or decrease the temperature, it remains the same, the temperature of the rooms is probably managed by the hotel. The common rooms of the hotel are very little heated, some are freezing, like the reception.....the times are hard....
