Toraja Misiliana Hotel

morning view from the hotel when the sky is bright is beautiful. The bed and pillow arent comfortable but the room is huge with a big bath room, big mirror and wardrobe area. The tv channel didnt work but the wifi was OK, so I was saved. Most of the guests are foreigner.

it definitely has a cool ambience with the Tongkanen traditional buildings and mountains in background. Wi-Fi was strong ( important in middle of nowhere). I would give the breakfast buffet a 7/10. Bar area was nice. Nice pool area for kids. Things to improve on 1. Information. I was told I could have dinner in the restaurant at 7 PM only to be told at 7 PM that they had a special group there and I couldn’t eat there. 2. Checking the bedroom before your guest gets there. The toilet was loud and was running all night. 3. Checking the electrical. One light took 10 minutes to come on and then on the second night 75% of the outlets didn’t work for charging my phone. Just doing simple room maintenance occasionally would help. 4. Making simple adjustments. There is a little bit of a crack underneath the entrance door, and when I came back the first night, there was a giant slug that had gotten in which was kind of gross but at the same time I realize I’m out in the jungle. However, this wouldn’t happen if the door was fitted properly. Obviously, I know what to expect because the hotel is out in the middle of Tana Toraja but it could improve on a few things

In short, this hotel does not meet international standard at all and it is not worth to stay with enjoyment. We stayed here for a few nights. On 1st day, shower is very week, bathtub does not have water plug, so no function. Toilet paper/ tissues are not refilled , coffee mug and spoon are dirty. Mouses were running the ceiling in the night. So, we called hotel cleaners. On the 2nd day, Indonesian large families stayed in several neighbour-rooms. Maybe they are here for weddings. They were very noisy up to midnight, then 3am, 5am, families members were walking around between rooms and loudly having fun. We asked hotel to make them quiet. Their answer was ” this is Indonesian people ‘s way! “ And let them keep noisy entire of night. I knocked their door and told them directly to be quiet. But obviously they did not understand English. Very disappointing and NEVER STAY AGAIN. It spoiled not only our sleep , but also the good vibes of vacation. If this is the hotel just for Indonesian people, this hotel needs to state clearly “ no foreign tourists are welcome “

Tana Torago is really struggling to fill more than the low budget traveller as far as facilities go. Which is fine if that’s what they also charge. Our prebooked accom was not available when we arrived and after checking several places that were bad ( mould, no windows, etc) and after a 12 hour car trip from Makassar I booked Misiliana in desperation. There were three of us travelling and the 2 bed suite cost over Au $550 a night. It was a huge expense for us but I thought at least it would be special. Well the cottage was so creaky getting up in the night woke everyone up, It wasn’t clean, beds were hard, cold showers at times, dirty pool, tasteless breakfast and meals. The gardens are lovely. We are happy to rough it when we travel if the place and price matches the experience but this hotel was barely better than the one we paid $18 a night at previously in Tana Toraja. The cottage looked cute, sleeps 6 if you use upstairs ( don’t) but has a table for 2.

My wife and I stayed here for 13 nights between the 10th and the 22 July. We enjoyed our stay. Our room was peaceful and cleaned every day. The cleaning service is excellent. I wish to thank the staff for giving us a bowl of fresh fruit for free on at least 3 occasions during our stay. I also wish to thank one particular staff member who went out of his way to help me following a bout of food poisoning (That was caused by eating chicken not cooked properly at a restaurant in town and not from the hotel). That really assisted me and my recovery. A special thank you to that staff member. Breakfast is well presented and a large variety is presented every morning. I also liked the welcome on the TV screen which is the first I have seen anywhere. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for guests and for any future stays in Toraja which is highly likely. This is where we will be staying. Thank you to all the staff of Hotel Misiliana and especially the cleaners who cleaned our room.

The hotel is nice at a very nice plaice. It include the traditional local "boat" architecture. The rooms are clean and of reasonable size. The swimming pool is quite large and very pleasant after a day of visiting the wonderful sites in the Toraja area.Food was simple and ok.

I booked this hotel for 3 nights, am staying here now, but cannot wait to get out. I am begging the receptionist to check out tomorrow but they don't seem to be able to help. The room is dirty, old, spooky. I can't sleep and am so tired. Hopefully they read this review and is willing to help. I just needed to check out early and move to another hotel. I know my options will be limited. My tour guide recommended a few.

Very good hotel, very good view, the room is very clean and tidy, has very good food, has a beautiful environment and very good service. really nice to have visited here with my friend. thank you for serving us well
