Stayed 1 night · Our worst stay ever. Unfriendly staff. Very dirty room. Especially the bathroom. Air condition dindn’t work - got portable on the bedside table - but how can that be possible. Dirty chairs on the balcony. Cockroache walked on the living room floor and small ants on the kitchen bench - bad sleep that night and no understanding or regrets of our experience. There is no freezer in the room and angry waiter when we asked for ice cubes. We tried to speak to the manager befordre we left but she was uncooperative and unwellcomming.

An absolutely beautiful hotel, very clean, staff very friendly, sun all day around the pool. Very quiet but you can use the facilities at Nido de Águila the sister hotel which is busier! Would definitely return here. I had a ground floor terrace room which was perfect, room 29. Had sunshine on the terrace all day from around 9am to 6pm. Close to Europa centre so can be a little noisy but once your terrace door is shut and bedroom door you can hardly hear it. Short walk to the supermarket and plenty of restaurants.

Stayed at the Lara apartments gran caneria. Lovely clean apartment upper floor gives you an overlook of the sea, pool area spotless enough sun loungers no one putting towels out at 3am . Maid service could not fault, clean towels daily, Stayed self catering, supermarket at Europa centre 2 min walk from apartments. Adults only , chill out area wonderful , Added bonus beds very comfortable requested extra pillows brought straight over. Would stay here again definitely yes. Only downfall was early check out no one at reception had to place key card in mail box as no-one informed us of this Have to check in and out at sister hotel nido de Aquila If you do stay here on drop off and pick up from sister hotel there are few stairs over to the Lara apartments

The apartment was ok, looks much better in pictures. The bathroom has a timer light, so you will finish the shower in a romantic way (no lights) and literally you need to go out of the shower to activate the light. The light go through the principal door (from the corridor) so the apartment is totally bright during the night. In front of the apartments is a big mall with a lot of restaurants and locals, so if you are looking for a quiet place forget about it, music until 4 in the morning, and very loud people. The reception and the kitchen were close “because people were on holidays” no notification about it, only about the restaurant and only when we paid. The check in needed to be done on the opposite side of the block, no organisation or communication, they just put a paper that was impossible to read because of the distance. Some days people were smoking inside the pool, or even drinking, and putting music loud.. no body checked anything. We won’t come back, overpriced.

My partner and I visited for 10 nights and were happy with the experience. Having to check in at the sister hotel is a bit of a faff, with the walk back to Lara up lots of steps and involving the use of keycards to open gates etc. Apartment was clean and modern, with a smart TV which was good for YouTube but also had Netflix and Amazon Prime apps you could use. The maids cleaned most days and the whole complex was clean and tidy. The location is great, right across from the Europa centre with plenty of shops and restaurants. This can be a bit noisy at night, so can't quite sit on the balcony in silence (though this didn't bother us). They have a shower you can use if you have a late flight and provide free towels for this, which is a nice touch. Taxi down to the other shopping centre/beach costs 8 euro, 4-5 back up the hill. You can walk down about 800 steps but it's very strenuous so taxis probably required for most people. Some negatives which bothered us now: the towels are absolutely tiny! If you're larger than a size 14, it probably won't go around your whole body. Also, all of the towels supplied to us had holes in them and one had a rust stain. They need replaced. We phoned and asked about late checkout but were told we had to ask on the day to check if it's needed (surely they'd know what they have booked in a few days in advance?). When we asked, they said no the hotel was full. They said we could use the pool etc., but to access the pool at the Lara, you needed your keycard, which they took from us when we checked out so we used the facilities at the sister hotel (which are not nearly as nice). We later found out, they let you keep your keycard if you ask - they should explain this better. They also take a 50 euro deposit on check-in, which I've never experienced (except for party hotels aimed at 18-30s type holidays) but seems to be the norm in Gran Canaria, this should be made clear when booking so there's no surprises though.

We have just spent 2 weeks here, The hotel its self it's amazing. Clean and spacious, there were 3 of us that went, I was worried that there wouldn't be enough storage for 3 peoples clothes etc but there is plenty of room. Nice little kitchenette if you want to cook. We had a bottom floor room, which we thought was the best. You have your own terrace and sunbeds, and most of the rooms are right by a pool. The reason for my 3 star review is, There were a few things that I wish I knew before we arrived. We were dropped of at the sister hotel - Nido del aguila which was expected from the pervious reviews that I had seen. We arrived late and the security guard was on reception. We wasn't aware we had to pay €50 deposit in case of any damages. Then we were told how to get to our room, we had to go up 2 flights of stairs as there is no lift and no one there to help with luggage. As you can imagine we were there for 2 weeks and had 1 big suitcase and 1 hand luggage each. This was very difficult and if you struggle with stairs it's not something you could manage with luggage, as it's not just a few stairs. To be honest, there isn't a way into the hotel without going up stairs, which is such a shame. You then get to a bridge that is locked with what looks like a key lock, we wasn't made aware there is a touch pad to the right of the gate on the wall which isn't in sight. If you don't know where it is, as it was dark when we arrived we wouldn't of been able to see it unless we were aware it was there. Our flight on the way home wasn't until 9pm. The Day after we arrived we spoke to reception about late checkout, they advised that we would need to see them on the day to see if they had availability, which is pretty normal. When the last day arrived we went to reception for 9am as advised, to ask for late checkout and we was told that they needed all the rooms so we could not have late checkout. Which was fine, but as we were there for 2 weeks we were aware of how many empty rooms there were at the hotel. And on our last day there were 11 not including ours. We left our room at 11am as this is the checkout time and stayed by the pool, we left the hotel pool at around 4.30pm and only 2 rooms had been taken at this point, so we were unsure why we wasn't able to have late checkout. Most of these rooms had also been empty for 4 - 5 days. Saying all this, we would still stay at the hotel again now we know more about the hotel. Its in a perfect location and it's nice and quiet as being adults only. We also had amazing weather and sun all day on our terrace. And the cleaning staff work amazingly hard to keep everything looking nice and clean.

Fantastic, stylish place to stay! Apartments were great, spotless & comfy. Pool was fantastic & the pool fountain was cool! Breakfast was surprisingly good - everything very english & the drink selection was good too! Only downside is the access to the property - not suitable for disabled people or anyone who has access issues, lots of awkward steps and the reception is very awkward to find! We also were told we could have a late check out the morning or departure but when we went to ask they said they'd already given it to someone else - a better system to be put in place regarding late checkouts? Overall a great stay for the price you pay.

Nice modern apartments. Breakfast ok but staff make you feel rushed. Check in bizarre at the hotel at the rear of the property. Side gate was locked and didnt have card access which wasnt convenient. Apartments modern and functional Tvs do not have any English channels Was quiet and relaxing Would recommend a ground floor room as upstair rooms do not have sun loungers and the pool doesnt have toilets close. Pool area was nice but was starting to show signs of wear. Most apartments get the sun all day or at least most. Plenty of sun loungers but some damaged. Minor issues which didnt affect anything.
