My boyfriend and I visited here in July 2022, it is by far one of the best holidays we have had. Croatia is a beautiful country and I would definitely recommend to everyone! This hotel is a lovely place to stay, very clean and the staff are always friendly especially at reception and in the pool bar. The rooms are spacious and clean. We had a great balcony with a view of the sea. There is a mini bar in the fridge that is restocked daily and you are provided with a receipt of what you have spent each day for you to pay at reception at the end of your stay. There are two pools next to eachother with plenty of sun beds available, we arrived on our first day at 12pm and were able to get a bed. We never went down earlier than 9:30am to get a bed. The pools are clean, music quietly playing around them and aqua aerobics. The breakfast has a large choice of pastries, pancakes, fruit, cooked food, etc. We didn’t eat in the hotel restaurant in the evening as were out and about in the resort trying the other restaurants and cocktail bars (great location!!) The pool bar is great for lunch. We ate here most days as it is reasonably priced and the service is quick. We didn’t stay in the hotel for the entertainment in the evening but most nights out of the 7 we were there they had entertainment on a big stage on the beach. This was different each time and always a good watch. The best was a fireworks show out on the water! Would 100% return to this hotel in the future.

Good- Clean rooms, nice clean pools and close to the sea and shops. Many non alcoholic cocktail options for kids/non alcoholics at the pool bar. Hotel shop for essentials. The food you pay for at the pool bar is delicious and much better quality than buffet food as expected. Bad- very limited options for vegetarians like myself and I got bored very quickly with breakfast and dinner, basically no vegan options and a tiny gluten free section. No detail in the signs, many dishes have meat in and doesn’t say on the sign. I found what looked to be a small bone in my ‘grilled vegetables’, I found a piece of bacon on my fried egg, all the bacon is fried on the same grill as the fried eggs so the bacon fat dripping off the bacon is going onto the eggs. The grabbers to pick up the cheese were covered in tuna and even the potato’s had a bacon taste to them. Don’t think I spotted any vegan options at the pool bar and for some reason the vegetarian sandwich didn’t come with chips yet the chicken one did even though they are the same size. Not very friendly staff, no to a late checkout even by an hour/half an hour, no to using hotel showers after you’ve checked out in the morning, no to using other Plava Laguna hotel showers even though we were told we can go to the other hotels as they are part of a chain. Anyone under 18 can’t even buy a sprite when putting it on the room without parent having to sign, staff told off children for just running around playing games even though it’s a family hotel, can only pay cash or put it on room- no card. Not a good vibe as a whole, no proper entertainment for the hotel except from tribute acts so in the evenings I would go outside of the hotel. No smoking areas so everyone is smoking on the sun beds and outside the bar and at the pool bar all day.

This hotel is large and quite isolated, it’s set on the lagoon, is very scenic but there is nothing near. Nearest town ( in fact the only place to go) is Porec which can be reached by the tourist train across the road. There is bike and scooter hire from here too. There are a couple of other resorts on the way. One, called Broulo is very busy and has a large bouncy castle set in the water, also has crazy golf. There are a couple of restaurants around the bay near the marina that’s all really. Has two good pools, plenty of sitting areas a pool bar and the main restaurant. We had half board, meals are buffet style and very mundane, spent a lot of time wandering around waiting to be inspired. Rooms are good, and kept clean. There are singers every evening and an’Elvis Show’ on Fridays. Also children’s room and entertainment. The pools get crowded with just too many chairs crammed around but there is a pleasant grassy area with trees down by the lagoon edge. That was much nicer and more civilised. We enjoyed our break but would not return here.

The hotel is basic. Cleanliness of the room leaves a lot to be desired, including a heavy smell/odor. Would not stay here again. The breakfast staff on the morning of 02/21 was simply unprofessional, with no sense of urgency, or anticipation. While we understood that they had just closed, when the 2nd guest arrived - aside the fact that there were zero accommodations made, the staff was rude and disrespectful... Do not stay here!

Loved the hotel, the location and the people. First time to Croatia but most certainly not the last. Would say to people don’t think about booking it, just do it. However if you’re British you will miss your cup of tea. On the other hand the local wine will nearly make up for it.

When we booked this hotel it was mainly because of the swimming pool that doesn’t have seawater in it which is common in this area. We were absolutely surprised by this hotel. It was very clean, modern and the rooms were definitely up to standard. Everyday your bed was made and clean towels in the bathroom. Food is ofcourse not star restaurant quality but what do you expect for this price. The food was very much okay and it was definitely not a burden to eat here. We have done so 4 out of 11 nights. Always 4 different types of meat or fish. Some of which were freshly grilled in the restaurant. Lots of vegetables and other local specialties. Breakfast was mostly the same but also up to standard. Lots of choice like scrambled or boiled eggs, lots of different breads, fresh fruits, sausages. It was a luxurious English breakfast with a lot of local foods added and also freshly baked pancakes every morning you could top with honey or Nutella. We also had a vegetarian in our group and for her there was enough choice at dinner and breakfast. For lunch you can go to the poolbar where you can get a good choice of foods for very reasonable prices. All the food is between €8 and maximum €15 (steak) and was also freshly prepared in the kitchen next to the bar. The guy at the poolbar Muriz was very friendly. The pool was quite cold but with the weather we had we were glad because it was refreshing. Enough beds which were very comfortable. There was daily entertainment for kids and at night there was live music at the lobby bar. Near the hotel there are different good restaurants. Would especially recommend Vila Romana which is about 3 minutes walk from the hotel. Also some (cocktail)bars and other shops are at maximum 5 minutes walk from the hotel. To go to Porec is quite for to walk so we used the little train that stopped just outside the hotel and it brings you to the center of Porec in about 20/25 minutes for 20 Kuna (around €3). We also used the taxi services quite a lot which are also very affordable. We found a taxidriver who brought us to the centre of Porec for 80 kuna with 4 people. If you find a good taxidriver ask for his number because you never know what the next guy is going to charge you. Next to the hotel is a nightclub but when we visited they had just closed for the season (which ends at the end of august) so we don’t know if it was any good or if it causes some noiseproblems. In Porec there are a lot of good restaurants and bars. Would recommend pizzeria Napoli and Corso. Also Stari saloon is a good tourist spot, you can get pizza here that are 1,20 meters in diameter, feeds 8 people and great for a picture to make your friends at home jealous. We also visited Pula which is about 50 minutes drive. Had a great time there and definitely worth the drive. In conclusion we were very pleased with the hotel and the area and would definitely go back there.

A smile costs nothing, but this was not received upon arrival. We had advised that our flight was arriving early, and confirmation received to say they would see what they could do. No attempt was made when we arrived and it was a point blank no, come back at 2. We came back at 1 and lots of others were being checked in but again it was a no for us. The old man on security in charge if baggage room, was extremely rude when we asked to leave our bags. Reception sent us to him and he sent us back with a very loud NON!! Restaurant was okay, very hit a miss. Eggs at breakfast raw if young girl on griddle and was not happy to cook further. The Male cook was happy to help. Sprouts for breakfast??? Signs above hot plates were often wrong. Vegetable risotto had bacon which if you had an allergy could gave caused harm. I do not like bacon, so it was just wasted. Fish and meat types often wrong. Ladies clearing tables were lovely and we had some nice chats, they worked very hard. Young girl supervisor was rude to several guests at the water machine, which was embarrassing for them. Whilst room was small, it was adequate and no issues. Cleaning staff always friendly and very hard working. Pools were great, but the entertainment chap in the morning was really annoying, he played the music unnecessarily loud, so we and other guests always chose to sit by the other pool. If you advertise aqua aerobics then provide it professionally, giggly entertainment staff bouncing about is not aerobics. This hotel has some positives but not enough for us to return
