The Claymore Guest House and Apartments

Just returned from a 2 night break in room 5, four poster bedroom, which was a surprise for my wife for her birthday. On arrival we received a friendly welcome, and were shown to our room. After messaging Gordon and his team prior to arrival, he had gone the extra mile to help me, and as we entered the room, a bottle of Prosecco was on ice, and a beautiful bunch of flowers were in a vase. The room itself was immaculate, and also stunning, with its lovely bed, bedding, and general lay out. The bathroom is also modern, and filled with some great toiletries. Two large windows also gave us lovely views across the hills. We had the added bonus of lovely blue skies and sunshine, which further enhanced the view. Everything you need is provided within the room, as stated upon booking. Breakfast is well organised, you tick every single item you want on a sheet, and hand the sheet in before you go to bed. The next day, whilst in the conservatory watching the wildlife, your cooked breakfast is served, and each item on your plate is locally sourced, and the dining experience definitely benefits from this. All the food is delicious. Don’t be shy with any extra requests, as Gordon’s team will do all they can to help, dietary requirements etc. Location is also a huge bonus, as you walk down the driveway, turn left, and Pitlochry Main Street is there!! Many thanks to all the team, we will be back, as you have set a standard others may not match…

We had a wonderful stay at the Claymore. A large comfortable room with a view out over the garden and a luxury bathroom. We enjoyed the well cooked and presented breakfast. There were plenty of choices on the menu. The Claymore is situated right on the main road into Pitlochry but was quiet and no traffic noise at all. The owner Gordon, was very welcoming. We will be back!

I stayed here for two nights and booked the courtyard room with its own entrance. Modern facilities, comfy bed huge bathtub and separate shower. The room is located on the back of the house and it’s very quiet. Immaculately clean. Lovely breakfast served in the main house dining room. Gordon was very amiable, offered plenty of suggestions, and I heard him asking everyone at breakfast how their room was. Very accommodating. the grounds are absolutely gorgeous with all the flowers blooming and very well-maintained. Plenty of free street parking.

Very friendly welcome. Lovely, clean, quiet room overlooking the garden with a mountain view (room 5), good breakfast, helpful hosts who gave suggestions of walks, pubs and restaurant. Beautiful location. Free parking. No complaints whatsoever.

A most wonderful place to stay in Pitlochry. Cannot fault our stay. Amazing when talking to Gordon that at some time we both worked at the same place in Hamble,Hampshire! This is the place I'll stay next time I'm up that way from Christchurch. Thank you to all at Claymore.

Everything about this place is spot on. The hosts/owners are fantastic. from arriving to leaving we were so well looked after with great local information given, amazing breakfast with all you’d want or need and high quality produce. The room was great, big comfy bed, quality pillows and linen. Beautiful large bathroom with bath and shower and large quality towels. It’s within easy walking distance to the town/river and has plenty of parking. Thankyou for a great stay, we would highly recommend your place and we will be back.

Pitlochry is a perfect place to stay. A comfortable and clean apartment. Everything you require for a brief stay. The apartment is very warm. Very big bed and plenty of storage space. The kitchen is well-equipped with high-quality appliances. It is our fourth stay and we are looking forward to staying again.

We stayed two nights at the Claymore on our recent visit to Pitlochry. The staff we met were extremely helpful and nothing was too much of a problem for them. It is well situated on the village high street and offers easy access to all that Pitlochry has to offer. We plan to go back again to take in a few shows when the Pitlochry theatre reopens. Highly recommended.

Just on our way home from a lovely two night stay at the Claymore. The room was spotlessly clean and lovey. Breakfast was plentiful and cooked perfectly Our hosts very helpful and friendly. The guesthouse is situated in a good spot for everything Pitlochry has to offer.We would definitely recommend and will return.
