Secrets Mallorca Villamil Resort & Spa - Adults Only (+18)

Peguera|0.27km from CR2 Peguera - Es Capdella Trail
Out first visit to Mallorca, and first time staying at a Secrets resort and certainly did not disappoint. We were ”wowed” right from the start. The entrance to the hotel is very elegant and welcoming along with the lobby area which smelt devine with lots of comfortable seating. Upon arrival as we had a ”Preferred room” we were taken to the preffered check in area which was next to reception inside the preffered lounge. Everything about the hotel was explained very clearly and as we were early to check in offered drinks. We went for a stroll around the grounds which were absolutely beautiful, lots of planting, gorgeous trees, plenty of places to sit and just take things in. On passing thru reception we were then advised our room was ready. The guy on reception showed us to our room, which was actually 007!!! He carried our bags and showed us how everything worked in our room. Now our room, sea view with terrace and hot tub..... Wow, incredible !! The terrace had 2 sun loungers with towels and sun cream and a table with 2 chairs. There was a beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers on the table in the room a really lovely touch. Having the complimentary mini bar in the room was great too, handy to grab a cold beer to sit in the terrace with and people watch. The terrace had great views of the sea, we actually saw dolphins one morning. Also in the room were slippers and robes, which is always handy. Toiletries were supplied along with toothbrushes, shaving kit, ect. On the first night after we had been out for dinner, a bottle of fizz and nibbles had been put in our room welcoming us, another absolutely fabulous gesture which shows the class of the resort. Also a turn down service is offered and water is supplied, I am not sure if it just in the room type we were in. The outdoor pool was heated and for a visit in March it was lovely temperature. The resort was quiet but there were plenty of loungers around for when busier. There is also a separate outisd area for ”preferred guests” which is above the spa. Day beds which have towels on and a shower to cool off in, a nice area. Breakfast was buffet style, cereals, cold meats, cheeses, and hot choices which I noticed were different daily. It was a superb choice and the service was brilliant. Omelettes are cooked fresh to order and were delicious every day! Staff here were very pleasant and helpful. A very nice touch from Monika (guest relations manager) was a bottle of fizz and a complimentary massage on my husbands birthday. Totally unexpected, so was a wonderful treat for him (thank you so much for that). The preffered lounge is also great, plenty of drinks choices and snacks all day. So to summarise, we had a absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful resort, staff so attentive and friendly, we just can't wait to return, and I would definitely recommend a sea view with terrace and hot tub room! And the Piano bar is worth a visit, cocktails are amazing! Thank you once again and we can't wait to return!

Cupido Boutique Hotel
4.1/522 Reviews
Hit and miss I will find this review quite difficult to write as the Cupido has many good points, but, unfortunately for us, I think the negative aspects just about outweighed the positives. The main asset the hotel has is its staff who are hardworking and happy in their roles and constantly engage in a cheerful manner with guests throughout the day... they really are fantastic and a credit to the company. There are little touches that are very pleasing such as for the first welcome drink they don’t just offer you a watered down orange juice or 1/2 inch glass of wine but more or less anything you want from the bar (obviously within reason) such as tea, coffee, glass of wine or full pint of beer... good start! When by the pool or roof terrace the lovely staff will come round and offer you free slices of cold water melon to cool you off a bit... all thoughtful gestures. The rooms appear to be very hit or miss, we started with a definite 'miss' initially with a tiny dark room (no balcony) tucked in the corner of the building with a very small single window looking out onto the blocked out side of someone’s balcony about 3ft. away (see photos) - the bigger window to the right wasn’t ours. Admittedly we booked a room without balcony as we had no choice when booking with Jet2, however, Jet2 don’t appear to charge extra for a balcony room anyway - it was just that they had none left - so this shouldn’t really have affected what room we were allocated. But this is where the lovely staff come into play again, between the manageress Carlota and the lovely receptionist Paula, after 2 nights they managed to swop our room to one that still had no balcony but was bigger, brighter, floor to ceiling window with superb sea view... what a difference! We were 2 weeks half board so you would have thought they’d have put someone that was only staying a few days on B&B in the first room to save us the embarrassment of having to ask to move. We would have been really miserable in that dark room for the whole fortnight. We were half board and are by no means fussy eaters but we thought the evening meal choice very limited even for a small hotel. There was literally one meat, one fish, one pasta and one grill station choice - none of which were very appealing. There isn’t even the choice of something like pizza which is usually on every hotels menu. These were accompanied by a choice of one vegetable and one style of potato. Even my partner who will hoover up anything didn’t enjoy any of the evening meals. But to counteract that the breakfast was okay and the morning machine coffee was the best I’ve had in a long time. As I say hit and miss. The communal areas of the hotel are lovely and everywhere is spotless but, as others have stated, it is in a rather noisy area (even in low season) with street bar music finishing after 2am., people shouting in the street in the early hours and the glass and bin wagons making an awful racket around 6am. which isn’t very condu

Great family business. I really like smaller places in top locations where You are Someone- Guest! Big commercial hotels are like many making fabrics where food is so bad and You are no one! Here Food was like from Michelin star restaurant with friendly chats and peaceful atmosphere. Amazing! Room is super clean and has everything what You will need in long or short stay. I was there 6 nights and i could do way more in the same spot because there is everything next to You; beach is just next to, so many shops: different cousins (if You will have enough of hotel restaurant - but I don’t believe that!), bus stop is 5 min walk. Staff - impressed in terms of how many languages they speak! And how friendly they are:) All together from me 10/10! Highly recommend I’ll be back for sure.

Just back from a week break in Paguera. This was a very last minute trip and we were very lucky to find such a great hostal The proprietors were so kind and welcoming. Spotlessly clean throughout, comfy beds and pillows. Charming chambermaid Breakfast was simple but plenty of choice and freshly cooked eggs, bacon and sausage along with normal cold meats, cheese and fruit Very hot whilst we were there and Paguera is a lively loud resort until about midnight but there is air con although we just left the balcony door open so early nights were not possible 2 minutes from the beach and as many bars and restaurants as you could ever desire

and linen - Great breakfast - Walking distance to the attractions & beach - and fabulous hosts! We did a last minute booking for 3 friends from London to get away from the miserable weather. We were skeptical at first as we read hostal as in English hostal.Howeevr it was definitely a hotel with lots of great touches. From our ”late check-in” to our ”late check-out” Patrik & Gunnar were incredibly accommodating - pardon the pun. Our beds were turned down daily by lovely Coco The housekeeper. Breakfast was included a continental style buffet with eggs made to order , coffee water and juice endless supply each morning. The Location is set back from the main roads so it was as quiet as we would like it with “gratis” parking in front of the hotel . A few minutes away and there’s a very tidy but bustling “high street” with all the cuisines and drinks your heart could desire and tourist shops , the beach was a bit beyond this making it perfect for visitors of all pallets x great place and will definitely come again. The hosts and location really make this a gem! thank you guys
