Relais Hotel du Vieux Paris

Paris|0.29km from Place Dauphine
When my adult writer/musician son asked if we could stop by the “Beat Hotel” during our time in Paris this past July 12-18 I googled Relais Hotel du Vieux. To my surprise the hotel was fully operational, renovated and had some pretty good reviews offering very reasonable rates as well. No contest, I booked it. Upon arrival the morning of June 12 we were warmly greeted at the door by Raymond, personable and Uber-competent manager and all around font of helpful information for navigating Paris. He reserved restaurant slots for us from pre trip emails and airport transport as well. I had requested early check in and that was very generously made available for two exhausted red-eye Chicagoans. Our two bijou rooms were charming with toile wallpaper and matching drapery, en suite bathrooms nicely appointed, coffee/tea hot pot provided. Full breakfast in the breakfast room behind Reception was included in our on line reservation and it was delicious served from the petit kitchen adjoining by the lovely ladies who double as housekeeping staff. The decor of public areas of the hotel are tastefully decorated with elegant wall coverings and comfortable furniture, the hotel is spotlessly clean. Jean Marie, grandson of the hotel owner, shares managing duties with Raymond and could not have been more willing and capable along with Raymond, in catering to our wants and needs. He responded to my son’s interest in a rare book on display at Reception on the beat history by mentioning his grandmother has the last few remaining copies of such. Negotiations progressed and my son is now in possession of a copy of this book and as a book collector, thrilled with it. Such personal and willing care of this caliber is rare. We were over the moon with our stay at Relais Hotel du Vieux in the 6th Arr. on tiny rue Git La Coeur, adjacent to Grands Augustins right on the Seine, across from Notre Dame Cathedral and within walking distance to Blvd St-Michel, Blvd St-Germain as well as many of the major Paris museums and sites. Anyone choosing to stay at this hotel would be fortunate indeed. Needless to say, we would return in a New York minute!

Super station three-way hotel! There is a station entrance right in front of the hotel, so the access is very good. It's a little noisy, but it's warm and the bed is fluffy, so I went to sleep. The rooms are a bit soft, but the bathroom was very clean and I was completely satisfied with the newly renovated ㅎㅎ unlike the up sumnail, the sheets are very clean, so you don't have to hesitate. The only downside is that the elevator is too small to carry a big carrier and it's hard to ride? It was a little small but it was good to be able to see YouTube because it was a Samsung smart TV

Serviced apartment, we stayed in Paris for 8 nights, very convenient. First of all, the location is good. It takes 10 minutes to walk to Notre-Dame du Louvre d'Orsay, and there are two subway stations nearby, which is also very convenient. In the past few days, we mainly visited museums on foot. Secondly, although it is cleaned every two or three days, there is unlimited towels at the self-service, and it is equipped with a microwave, induction cooker, refrigerator and dishwasher. This week, we basically made breakfast in the room with bread and other things bought at Carrefour City Supermarket. , tableware, toaster, etc. complete, perfect! Then, the free coffee and chocolate downstairs are also great. I have to drink one before going out and after coming back every day. It’s cloudy and rainy in Paris these days and it’s cold. It’s not too comfortable to drink a cup of hot chocolate right away when you get back to the hotel.

The hotel is beautiful, the location is good, there are many restaurant bookstores around, the front desk service is very good, but the breakfast waiter is not very enthusiastic, take the initiative to go to the tea, it is very slow, the others are very good, will stay next time
Hotel le Clos de Notre Dame

The converted 18th century building oozes charm and history which is enhanced by the warm welcome. Elena was a delightful host for whom nothing was too much trouble. The reception is bilingual and very helpful. The Continental Breakfast is in a small room but with so much choice, one never needs to leave hungry! We were able to leave our suitcases and rucksacks in a secure place while we visited the city during the day which is so convenient. Rooms are well equipped but very small so a couple with large cases might find challenges. If you can get a room facing the street, you will have a bit more space and a view but it is a very quiet restful place..

My adult son and I stayed for several days. It was my first trip to France and I was eager to practice my French, something I never get to do at home in the US. The staff patiently indulged me as I attempted some conversational French. Despite my limited, emerging capacity for their native language, they were helpful and encouraging. After mistakenly saying (in French) that ”I am looking for it” when I could only have meant ”I have found it,” I am happy not to have been ridiculed, but to have been surrounded by supportive people. I found the French people--from servers in restaurants and people on the streets to staffers in museums and shops--to be accepting and kind. The hotel staff reflect the wonderful people of France. Thank you, Hotel Prince de Conti staff.
