Ragtime Suites

Very affordable and right at the junction of the Five Star bus terminal. Most importantly, the only true pet-friendly hotel in Dagupan! Pros: 1. Price point - range is $20-$50 2. Good location - in front of Five Star, 7-11 downstairs, Mercury Drug is across the street, SM is a 5-minute walk 3. Amazing staff - They were friendly and welcoming. They insisted on carrying our bags. Check in and check out was a breeze 4. No pet fee - had 2 dogs and no extra charge 5. Surprisingly clean for an old room. Had no problem walking barefoot on the old and dingy tiles Cons: 1. Rooms could really use some fixing and refreshing. It was unimpressive at first but had to remind myself the good deal I was getting. They have an LCD TV, AC was working fine, and had a hot cold shower. As a pet owner and having to pay no pet fee, can’t complain as the room was sufficiently clean and served my need. 2. Road noise. It wasn’t terrible but more like filtered sound. You can still hear it but can be an issue for a light sleeper 3. Limited parking space. Only 2 slots available in front of the 7/11

Pros: 1. Place looks new. Sheets and towels are also new and feels premium. 2. Breakfast was great esp the hot choco. 3. Front desk personnel were nice and very responsive. 4. Wifi and water pressure are both strong. 5. The personal butler touch was a bonus. Cons 1. The deluxe villa, which is supposed to be for 4 pax, is quite small. Its more suited for 2 pax. 2. Spa prices are quite steep. 3. Plunge pool is small. Management should consider making it heated, otherwise, guests will not find it of much use. 4. I understand that its an eco resort but a little more landscaping will make it more attractive to guests
Star Plaza Hotel

We spent a couple of weeks here during two different stays. We stayed in similar rooms on different floors. The rooms are small, tired and grubby, clearly worn out and way past their refurbishment date. The in room/wall air-con units were 30+ year old units and extremely noisy and not very effective, making a restful sleep very difficult. The bathrooms were dirty, dark and disgusting even for a three star hotel. The lighting was so poor you could not use the mirror for shaving as you could only see one side of your face! Whilst cleaned every day the room/bathroom never felt clean and certainly were not inviting. In house dining options were very limited as was the menu, with the second floor dining room doubling as a bar (with no atmosphere). Staff in general were always helpful. Renovations had commenced during our stay (providing an additional source of noise during the day). I hope the finished product is a significant improvement.

The hotel is accessible and affordable. The staff are friendly as well. The hotel itself is a bit old so the amenities are not that good. But overall it's a good place to stay.

Overall the room was very clean and above of my expectations...Well done housekeeping Team.As for the first person whom I meet was not very professional and fast thinker by the name of Sam.The bad experience that I had was that I had my luggages with me in the car and even after explaining that I need to off load my things and just need to park for awhile in less than a minute and will shift the car. I was told by Sam I can't park even for awhile and I had to Park quite a distance away closer to the main entrance. When I parked the car closer to the main entrance, another guard told me I should have just offload my things and Park the car after offload as it's quite a distance and the road has lots of small stones damaging my bag rollers.Even the guard at the front shook his head and agreed with me that Sam was really ridiculous and not thinking knowing that I would be checking in there. So travellers do be careful if you check in there and have to face the same thing that I faced. To the management if you ever read this do ensure to train your staff well and to think fast and tackle such situations in a good manner not treating your guest like fools.!.
