Unfortunately one cant trust all reviews nowadays... My wife and I did actually stay at this hotel at the begning of the month. I mean, the place is ok and you get what you paid for! We were staying only 3 nights on our way to boquete so thought we would try it out as it has changed management lately having stayed at a nearby 5* hotel in our previous visit and did not want to repeat. The hotel is located in what used to be a desirable part of town which has since succumbed to the inevitable migration of businesses from the choked part of town to more modern areas. It is centrally located but suffers from terrible traffic during peak hours which means that those few minutes they advertise can turn into almost an hour to get to the heritage area. Even in this part of town, hotels like W and JW offer more contemporary accomodations and facilities. Speaking of which. The Bristol is not a new hotel and seems to be struggling with maintenance. Internet was spotty at best and our room had a smell that I can only attribute to dampness and old carpets or drapery. Service was nice, people were attentive at reception but the same thing could not be said about the restaurant and bar staff. The rstaurant on the 5th floor lacks atmosphere and pretty much looks over other buildings and not the skyline they advertise. Food was acceptable but seemed to be lacking purpose. We ended up having breakfast the next two days at a nearby chain cafe and chosing to dine out at one of the many restaurants on our way back from touring the city. The spa is nice and does has suprisingly great views! If stayig at a nearby hotel I would recommend it. They do have some sort of a tour desk at the ground floor but we found the lady working there too pushy and decided to stick to our guides and the experiences we found posted on Tripadvisor. Those were really useful. On our way back we will be staying at a new property in Casco as it is absolutely beautiful and worth discovering. I guess that if you have business in the area and have to choose a hotel within that neighborhood The Bristol would be an acceptable option amongs many others. But be advised it is far from the 5* experience that they seem to be proyecting at the moment. Hope this review helps those who are looking into staying in Panama. We are moving here in a few months on a more permanent basis and would like to make sure we dont miguide those coming for the first time.

This is a new hotel built right before the pandemic and is a mall. Which has a foodcourt a number of shopping stores, pharmacy, normal and Kosher supermarket and great health clinic. I have stayed here in 3 different rooms on different floors. As I was in and out of the country for the month. They were all little studios with own kitchen, refrigerator, counter top, couch, desk and bedroom. All the rooms had views of the Pacific. The rooms and hotel were very clean except for the 13th floor on the occasion that I was there where they had a problem with the ice machine which had expelled water which went into the carpet and left that horrid smell. The floors in the room were of wood and ceramic. The beds were king and the view was spectacular. It’s located right in an area where if you can hop on the highway and go to Costa del Este or into the city. Not far from the mallas and has a small ***** mall next to it with stores, restaurants and another supermarket. The breakfast is not the greatest, the fruits and bread are acceptable the rest I wasn’t to thrilled with BUT you can go down from 07:00 hrs to 3rd floor and get coffee and pastries from the foodcourt. Which was ok for me. The staff was friendly and cooperative while the hotel was very safe. Did notice that during check in/checkout there were long lines at the reception. Would be advise that you look into checking in after 17:00. I highly recommend this hotel.

The room was everything I expected to see at a Marriott. Great bed, pillows, sheets, clean etc etc. Breakfast, well it was my first day in Panama so I didn't realize how expensive it was for food here. So I felt like it was over priced for a basic buffet. I've had better buffets in much cheaper hotels in very expensive places such as iceland so... Also the price online we different from what I was charged which was irritating. Also when I asked the server how to pay earlier, by charge to the room or here (he had just asked me for my room number) he stated he would get back to me. He never did, despite my asking for water. And a spoon. And cream. Because none of this was supplied to me and not available at the buffet. So when I saw other people just up and leaving without paying a bill I assumed it would be charged to the room. And since the server still wasn't around when I was leaving, I just left. When I went to pay the bill that night it was a disaster and took nearly an hour to sort out. And I got called back down to the front desk twice for this. Then I got three calls at random times through the night from some automated Spanish speaking thing and my 2 am Spanish was not up to translation. I tried calling the front desk to ask what was going on. I assumed maybe incorrectly entered wake up calls. But there was no answer. It just rang. This happened twice and the third time I just disconnected the phone. Not thrilled with this stay.

1) First 3 nights, pool was closed for renovation. Reception said ”No pool available”. Only this, I thought, the pool was completely closed. On the forth day, I saw, guests were swimming. I asked the reception. ”Yes, you can swim”. Why the reception could not inform us only 3 days closed? 2) No towel after cleaning. Also first 3 nights. I thought that the clean team forgot to leave it, but it was not forgetting, but not ready. Towels were delivered around 19:00 first 3 nights. I called the reception every night and they said ”We inform the responsible staff” and waited for hours. Why reception didn't answer ”Towels will be delivered around 19:00 today” or advised us for delay delivering in advance? Then I didn't have to call the reception every day. Anyway, I had to wait to take shower till 19:00. Outside was 30degrees, and I wanted to take a shower immediately. 3) Weak WIFI. WIFI at Reception was with 96 Mbps, however, room at the door was 14 Mbps and at bed, no signal anymore. At desk also 2 Mbps or no signal. It's impossible to watch streaming like Netflix or web meeting. Also no smart TV. 4) My room card key was invalided every day. I had to go to the reception after back to the hotel (Elevator works with valid room card key). If no guests are at the reception, it takes soon, but one day, big group was there, and I had to wait more than 10min or more. I had a take away food, and it was no more warm when I was back to the room. 5) They asked me an advance payment even flex rate booking. They need cash? 6) No refrigerator in a room.

My friend and I stayed here for 3 nights in December and we booked our rooms using booking.com. As a travel agent I know that direct bookings are always better but the rate found on booking.com was much better. When we got there, the reception staff (Clarence I believe his name was) did not want to honor our room, stating that even though there was no way our room description said ”bay view” because those rooms arent offered on booking. com so I pulled up my reservation and showed him exactly what the description of the room we paid for was, a Sea view. He was very argumentative and his lack of professionalism was even noticeable on the way he dressed. I really didnt even think he was the receptionist, I though he was maybe doing some repair or something behind the desk. After a few minutes back and forth, we finally got our sea view room which to my surprise it was very clean and spacious. The decor was nice and modern, it looks like they invested money on updating the rooms and hallways but the hotel itself needs a lot of work. This hotel was built in the 60s and it shows! the a/c units look rusty and moldy on the outside, the restaurant decor looks so old and the pool deck, although nice, it could use a little TLC. Overall it was an ok stay, I wouldnt stay there again despite its good location.
Le Méridien Panama

Decent hotel but definitely could use a little improvement. The hotel is clean and comfortable, although a little dated in places and banged up (our room's window had a giant crack in it, which had me wondering how safe that would be in a storm!). The view was lovely and the location is good. Breakfast was fine, nothing to write home about. The happy hour drinks and snacks were fair, and the food was ... not good. Definitely don't eat at the restaurant for anything other than breakfast. Also, the hotel is centrally located, which is good, but overlooks a giant parking lot that turns into party bus central on weekends (no joke). It is LOUD. The other nights were quiet, but this is definitely a negative on the hotel's location. Also, it helps to come with a working knowledge of Spanish if possible. At the front desk the staff's English is good, but at the restaurant and spa it's extremely limited. It was difficult to communicate with the massage therapist, who then also told me I was only allowed to pay in cash (which I didn't think was true but had no time to verify). We didn't use the pool because we were busy doing other things, but it appeared to be in need of a little attention. Also, housekeeping was spotty. Some days they didn't come, and when they did, they often didn't replace the towels (although they took the used ones away). Three times I had to call down to request towels, which was a little strange. Overall this is a very serviceable hotel that's located in a central area that makes it easy enough to get to most attractions by foot, cab, or Uber. Do not expect luxury and you won't be disappointed.
W Panama

The W Panama was an unforgettable experience. It’s one of the best Marriott Hotels in Panama. The service at the W was the best I’ve experienced in Panama. They went above and beyond for Wifey’s birthday, I was impressed with the level of service received. They were quick to respond to my needs via the BonVoy app. and were exceptional throughout my stay. I loved how well they acknowledged my Elite status with Marriott. They even left a nice small cake in our upgraded suite. Cant say enough about the service, it was superb. The Wow suite has the name to match. It was one of the coolest rooms I’ve stayed in. Love that they offer so many room options, they are sure to meet just about any occasion.
The Executive Hotel

This is a nice, modern hotel and everything looks nice, well kept, and very clean. Check in was quick and easy. Simple, comfortable room was perfect for me, maybe just a bit cozy for a couple. The room was very pleasant and had the right accessories - especially the desk area. Lighting was rather poor. The shower is attractive but very poorly designed. I don't care for the combination of rainfall shower head and handheld shower. Unless one is very careful with the handheld shower, water hits the door area and leaks out to make a puddle on the floor of the rest of the bathroom. Hot water always available - though it might have been just a bit hotter. In searching numerous hotels, it seemed difficult to find a room with a small fridge in it - this one has it. If only they also had a microwave! WiFi was very good at all times. Breakfast was adequate with a reasonable selection, but quite unorganized. It seems that anything with meat is way overcooked both at breakfast and in the restaurant at other times. Smokers are made to feel very unwelcome! There is a large open air area off the lobby where smokers could relax without troubling other guests - but not allowed. The only place smoking is allowed is in the driveway or outdoor parking area on the side of the hotel. Some reasonable accommodation could easily be made. The location is good. If you want American fast food or to take the Metro (subway) a leisurely 10 minute walk gets you there. McDonalds, Wendys, Subway, Dominos, and a couple of other restaurants and a bakery in a single strip next to one another. STRANGE STORY about booking a room... I booked for 6 nights and while I was there wanted to extend my stay another day. It couldn't be done either at the desk or through booking website - nothing available. HOWEVER, I was able to book a NEW reservation online for a room - ended up, of course, with the same room for an extra night.

The hotel is a little distant in a quiet street, walking to the Casco viejo over a few bridges and the promenade along the fishing market. It does not offer anything special, but the location is good. You can walk around the corner to the Metro Estación Iglesia del Carmen or walk in the other direction to the Hard Rock Cafe / Hotel.

Service: The customer service was very good! All the individuals were very warm and courteous, especially the staff at the kitchen in the mornings. Breakfast : The breakfast was very good. There were many items to choose from. They also tried to switch up the different food items/options daily. Location: The hotel is a little distant from the Tocumen airport, maybe about 20-30 minutes drive. The hotel is right beside a KFC. There are a few restaurants and a bar nearby as well. Taxis are easy to get at the hotel. Depending on your destination, fare is from 5USD up. Casco Viejo is about 15 minutes away. Amenities: I didn’t really love the amenities. They were no toothbrush/toothpaste provided and other common things that I expected as it relates to amenities. Birthday: It was my spouse’s birthday and we went out and came back and saw that the hotel left a delicious slice of cake, fruits and a letter on our table for my spouse. THANK YOU!!!!😊😊😊😊😊 The hotel was clean. The lobby area is great for photos. The check in process was smooth. The pool has a bar and restaurant with reasonable prices! We enjoyed our stay 😊😊😊
