The 7.8 Booking.com rating is really on point and maybe a bit over the top. With a little more effort in providing excellent service, this hotel has the potential to be the best in Oualidia. Note I visited the Sultana too and this one is much better imo. Sometimes it isn’t the flashy marble floors, or the traditional woody architecture that reflects a hotel’s expectations for a guest, but rather the little things here and there that make the biggest differences. 1. The rooms are pretty clean and the housekeeping is top. This is the reason it wasn’t terrible. 2. Service is like the stock market: up and down and you never know what to expect. You make a call to ask for a towel. It may arrive within 15mins or never. 3. Parking is limited and there is no effort to require guests to park properly. So out of the 10 available spots, there could be 7 cars parked and no space for you. 4. I really liked that the WiFi password is in the mirrors along with the direction of prayer for Muslims. This was pretty cool. 5. Management is terrible and the staff lacks the authority to help guests and make decisions: every time we needed something, the person helping us picks up the phone to ask if it’s okay to give us what we want. When we ask to speak to management, it doesn’t exist. 6. The location is awesome and probably the best for what it’s there to do in Oualidia. Again, the potential is pretty much wasted.
