First, when I went to the bath area, I could smell sulfur. When I first went to the open-air bath, the water was cloudy. The indoor bath was a strange greenish color. It looked good, tasted good, and went well with local sake. The fried food was fried rockfish with black vinegar sauce, and since most of the rockfish were eaten grilled whole, it was unique and delicious because you could eat it from the head on. The one I had was grilled chicken on a ceramic plate with Shinshu miso, and it was a combination of sweet and salty miso and butter. The most expensive local sake was 890 yen (300cc), which I was happy about. The local sake from Obuse was delicious. The person in charge of the restaurant had very good customer service. We also had breakfast in a private room. The rice was delicious and the quantity was good, and we were served coffee at the end. It was an accommodation with good hot springs, a spectacular view of the mountains, delicious food, and good hospitality.

The public bath is not very big, but it was very clean and nice. The room is still new and very clean, so I think it was good to use it. Also, even though I was late for check-in, I felt comfortable with a very good response. There were many kinds of breakfast, and it was so big that I could not eat all kinds. In addition, we thought that we wanted to use if there was opportunity.

Excellent hotel with all the convenience you need made available seamlessly. The location is excellent with easy access to the expressway and convenient stalls and restaurants are a short drive away. The hotel breakfast is excellent for a budget hotel standard with a good variety of food to select from. I stayed 8 days in a row and we never got bored with the breakfast.

The hotel is very close to Nagano Station, which is very convenient. There is a convenience store next to it and there are many restaurants nearby. The room is nice, it can store two large luggage cases, and you can soak in the hot springs at night.

Thanks Mr Shimaya and all the staff! We were 4 people and we spent two nights in this traditional Japanese-style room, very comfortable. All the essentials were present. The futons were very soft and warm. The room consisted of an entrance hall, a fairly large main room, a small room with shower, a sink, an outdoor room divided by paper walls with a table and two chairs and the necessary to make tea and enjoy the view of the panorama offered by Yudanaka, a small closet immediately alongside containing a toilet, and finally an external balcony. Inside the structure it is possible to have breakfast (we have not opted for this service so I cannot express myself on the matter), but the most important thing is the presence of an internal onsen (no mixed gender), that you can use how much do you want. It was beautyful. There is also the possibility of getting a very characteristic public onsen's key right behind the hotel. The first morning the Shimaya staff accompanied us to the Snow Monkey Park for free. In the early afternoon we have Booked the private onsen where you can go dressed a bit like in the pool, to bring even the most reluctant to bring this wonderful aspect of Japanese culture. We stayed here for a couple of nights and it was a really clean and comfortable hotel and just a 7 minute walk from Nagano Station, a 7 minute walk to bus stop 23 for the Snow Monkey Park and close to a variety of restaurants and bars. It is also 15/20 minutes to Zenko-Ji which is a beautiful Buddhist temple and well worth visiting. We didn’t have breakfast included during our stay but other guests said that it was really good. Our room was really clean, spacious and comfortable with a firm mattress, a tv, toiletries and a kettle. In reception you can help yourself to teas, coffee and other toiletries for free which was helpful. The staff were really friendly and patient as we don’t speak Japanese. Our room was next to the railway line but the sound proofing was excellent and it was so quiet and we had two good nights of sleep. A comfortable and clean hotel that is conveniently located for exploring Negano.

When I arrived at the scenery hall while looking at the famous inn that gave up from Obushi to Yamada Onsen by free transfer bus for budget convenience, I felt honestly dark. I felt like I was older and inferior to other inns. I was guided to the room and immediately said rude things like ”let's make another inn next time” with my friend. However, when I took the bus again for one night, I changed to ”I want to come again soon! I don't want to stay at the landscape museum”. First of all, when I said that my leg was bad at the time of booking, I was able to set a table and chair in the room with a bed and the room in front of it to eat, but thanks to the consideration, there was no inconvenience We had a comfortable stay. The hot water was good and the facilities were clean even if they were old. The food was delicious and the number of items was about this, so I left it. The breakfast was also substantial and I was surprised. Curry in the morning is perfect for the morning. The small counter, which was stuck by the window of the room, became a bar counter for us who were drinking, and we had a fantastic night watching the snowstorm valley. But what was better than anything was the hospitality of the inn 々 including the mother. It is rare in a luxury inn to receive the sincere hospitality that has been so thorough. The next inn was decided to be kofushi, so I tried to come back on the next day, but it was a pity that it was not possible to realize it on the closing day. Ofushi was fun, but I think I will stay at the scenery hall and go to Ofushi next time.
