Blarcreen House

Beautiful surroundings, were doing a gentle cycling holiday, fantastic location for trails around Loch Etive and the fabulous route 78. Room was very tastefully decorated with grand four poster, big room. Large bathroom with good sized bath, I'm 6'2, no shortage of hot water. Couldn't ask for nicer hosts, go there.

Quiet, peaceful, beautiful, lovely room and the hosts were wonderful. Everything was perfect. Thank you. I hope to get a chance to stay again one day.

The property is 4.5 miles off any main road and needs careful navigating to get there. Satnav takes you to a three way intersection but you are not there yet. If you are coming down a steep hill, take the LEFT fork and continue close to 1 mile and you will see their RED sign on the RHS. If you are coming the other way from Connel at the intersection DO NOT turn Left up the hill but continue straight on and about 1 mile further on will be the house on the RHS. Once you have made it, you will find it is very worthwhile!! A quiet pleasant rural location. The hostess, Diedre, is very pleasant and helpful; rooms a good size and all your needs are catered for. Excellent. For evening meals you will have to make your way back to Connel where there are a number of excellent Pubs or have your meal before you arrive. We had a wonderful two day stay. Tip: give yourself a little extra time to get there. The above instructions should assist.

Where do we start?? From the warm welcome, the amazingly beautiful location and rooms to the delicious and ample supper and breakfast. Everything was just delightful. The hosts were so lovely and accommodating, we didn't really want to leave. What a find!!

This is a beautiful house in a superb private location, which feels like it is your own when you stay there. The hosts are very charming and attentive, they are fabulous cooks with creative and delicious menus. The attention to detail is very noticeable, in particular, the dining room with lovely tableware, cut glass and fresh linen, together with a view out over open fields and the loch in the distance. Beds comfortable and bathroom very nice too. 5 star indeed and highly recommended.

We discovered a bit of Heaven. Its name is Blarcreen. Nestled in the countryside east of Oban on the shores of Loch Etive, it is a treasure to behold. Our party of six were greeted like family visitors. We immediately felt warmth and welcome as we toured the home - and with fascination - learned all about its heritage and its tasteful and thoughtful restoration. We might as well had been royalty! The feelings of comfort and security rivaled sitting at a warm fire snuggled in a Fair Isle blanket. (Blarcreen offers a cozy fireplace, too!) The formal dining room is simply wonderful. Our breakfasts and dinner were delightful perfection with elegant settings and linens. Each meal was fresh, inventive and masterful. Host Diedre and her daughter were so gracious with fascinating conversations and exquisite sophistication. Our memories of Blarcreen always bring smiles. There is so much to see and experience. Walk the grounds and you will find a little brook that leads you down a drive to the shores of the magnificent loch. The stunning surrounding mountains are majestic. The views and the gardens are breathtaking. Your eyes will be filled with awe. Want to enjoy the majesty of Scotland all around you? Blarcreen is the place. A grand time was had by all!

Our wonderful experience began even before we arrived. The owner - Dierdre Watt - called us on our way there and told us that she would be booking dinner for us else we would remain dinner less. As soon as we reached, we were assisted with our luggage by Vito, Deirdre’s son. The rooms were beautiful, with four-poster beds and well-appointed bathrooms. Blarcreen is set amidst verdant fields. We had a delicious breakfast the next day. We will definitely go back.

Set in the most beautiful surroundings, Blarcreen House provides the most wonderful getaway. Overlooking Loch Etive, surrounded by stunning scenery, David and Deirdre are exceptional hosts with an in depth knowledge of the local area. The food is delicious, the rooms are exceptionally comfortable, all with glorious views. We can't wait to return. An Idyll.

Amazing Cottage Heaven curated to perfection. David was solo running the place during our stay like a well oiled machine. I also misplaced my airpods and thought I’d left it at the property cause I left at 4am so was a bit disoriented and they helped me sweep the place to find it. Sorry for your trouble David!!! If only all owner operator boutique hotels would run this way. Breakfast served was with utmost care and service you can expect from a 5 star hotel.
