We had arranged a weekend with friends in Nottingham and had booked 2 rooms. First morning the housekeeping staff came as we were leaving, for the day out we had planned. When we returned we expected our room to have been serviced, no towels at all in the room and no made bed. Nothing on the tea/ coffee tray had been replenished. When we rang reception to get some towels no one answered so after a long day we had to go down to reception to get them to get us some towels, after waiting nearly 5 mins while the reception staff ignored us we were told someone would bring us some towels. Next morning our friends went down to breakfast early before us, to be told it wasn’t included in the room - it was, and rather than check the booking they were very rudely told that they couldn’t have breakfast. They were not even offered the option to pay for a breakfast. They ended up going elsewhere for breakfast much to our embarrassment after we had arranged the weekend and booked the room. After speaking with reception they confirmed that breakfast was included and gave us a card saying we were entitled to breakfast - much use that is as our friends had already gone and had breakfast elsewhere and we were not offered a refund on our booking.
Village Hotel Nottingham

We were very happy overall with our stay and the hotel itself. There were a few minor points, such as the child bed was low to the ground (albeit comfy). I believe the family rooms can also cater for two children, which would be very cramped, but this was not an issue for us, with just the one. It would have been nice if we'd been told in advance that you have to put your key card in a holder in the room in order to make the lights work, instead of being left to work this out ourselves. Also, the bathroom had no extractor fan in it, which seems a very strange design feature, assuming that the designers realised what humans sometimes need to use en-suites for! The main bed was amazing: huge and extremely comfy - the comfiest we've found in any hotel/accommodation for a very long time; and the telly (also huge) was brilliant. The 'untuned-in TV-design' decor (carpets and wallpaper) is a bit retro and the furniture quite 'Rocky Horror' coloured - which seems maybe a bold choice, but you seen get used to it! Breakfast was fantastic, with loads to choose from and very tasty. The pool is also top-notch. Overall, we were very happy and would definitely return again.
Delta Hotels Nottingham Belfry

Just returned from 2 night stay at Delta Marriott belfry. Overall a poor experience and would not recommend. Starting with a few positives: Good location for access Rooms clean and well equipped Breakfast is good with wide selection Negatives are many: Hotel pool can only be used by kids from 10am to 6pm with zero flexibility if arrive after 6 and kids want a quick swim. Mixed messages from staff regarding swim times with no regard for customer service. Hotel Restaurant food is really poor quality and extremely expensive. Eg We waited 1h 15 min for our food which on arrival was cold and the steak overcooked and like leather!
Crowne Plaza Nottingham

I came to the Crown Plaza, Nottingham for a conference early June. The hotel itself was nice, modern and comfortable. My room was not adequately cleaned as there were hairs in my shower upon arrival, unreplenished hygiene products in the bathroom and the toilet uncleaned. The room Itself was small, but fine for sleeping in. My TV did not work, but as it was one night this wasn’t a bother. The breakfast and lunch were great, formal dinner however was awful and poor, not worth paying for. Servers were unversed in allergen training, and the allergen and dietary requirement food options were awfully poor. The manager on duty however, was apologetic and wonderful. The best thing about this hotel was the staff (excusing F&B teams poor allergen training and food options). Particularly Abigail, Malakai and Zak on the bar who were so warm, polite and accommodating. Wonderful service throughout and a credit to the team. Thank you three.

Stayed for two nights on a dbb meal on the first night included hotel has had a full refurbishment which is lovely our room was nice and big and bathroom full walk in shower I was a bit concerned before we went at some reviews about the rooms but i needed have worried also people were complaining about the restaurant saying they waited a long time for there food but we didn’t experience that Carrie and Lucy looked after us very well in fact we ate there the second night to the only criticism we had was my husband had the sirloin steak the first night which he said was excellent but the second night he had it again but it was tough and not as tasty when asked if we enjoyed our food we told Lucy the steak was tough and not as good as the night before to which she replied it was a different chef which should’ve have made that difference also no mushrooms at breakfast which apparently they don’t use which I find most strange as they are always a breakfast item , but it wouldn’t stop us recommending the hotel the offer we had was very good value and staff very friendly.
