Woodroffe Hotel
Southport | 0.34km from Chinatown, Gold Coast
The picture does not match the reality, the picture looks like the hotel is very high, is able to see the sea or the city, but in fact the highest only 7 floors.
The most important thing is that at 12 o'clock in the middle of the night, was called up by the fire alarm, panicked and ran downstairs, and finally the hotel checked and found that there was no problem, the hotel did not have any compensation, not even an apology! Worst without one.
I arrived late on a Friday night. Just dropping off to sleep when other guests arrived back and proceeded to make an unholy racket. Not much sleep that night - arrived back Saturday arvo to find the party in full swing - yelling, swearing, banging and loud music continuously but nothing done by management. I left and found alternative accommodation - came back Sunday to return the key and to ask for a refund for the last night which I thought was only fair. The manager said I have to apply through Expedia which I duly did and was refused again. At no time was there any apology or empathy from the manager - they had my money and that was as far as it went. Worst ever accommodation experience and at no stage was my room made up either.

Harbour Side Resort

Because of the self-driving, while walking, the hotel was booked the same evening. The choice is to have free parking first, followed by a kitchen. Here is a three-story apartment building. There are many rooms that are permanent residents. The rooms are quite large. The indoor scene is better than the pictures. Our family of four booked a one-bedroom, one-bedroom house with a double bed in the bedroom and a single bed and sofa bed in the living room. This room type can be seen at Ctrip. You can see two prices. The three-person occupancy and the two-person occupancy are probably more than 100 RMB. One of our children is three years old and seven years old. The three people booked AUD 124 yuan. After that, they stayed at the front desk for two days. They only paid AUD99 yuan a day. They should be charged at the same price as the two people in Ctrip. So, I feel that the price is quite high. Therefore, parents who have similar situations can book the price that is cheaper. The coin-operated laundry room is located on the first floor near the pool. The Australian uncle who is on duty at night also personally took me to introduce how to use the coin. During the day, I was a middle-aged man and a woman. They were locals. I didn't see the Chinese boss in the comments, but they were very enthusiastic and patient, especially the uncle who was worthy of the evening shift. People were very kind and especially liked him!

Aqualine Apartments on the Broadwater
Southport | 1.08km from Chinatown, Gold Coast
Stayed at the Aqualine Apartments on Marine Parade this weekend. The apartment was very clean, very modern and the location was fabulous. I walked easily with 2 kids to Southport to catch the G Link into Cavill Avenue. The basement parking was easy and secure. No loud noise/ no road noise (like you get in Surfers Paradise), an easy 5 min drive to Harbour Town, very accessible to main road. We enjoyed the spa, we didn't use the pool, as the weather was much cooler than we anticipated, but it looked clean and prestine. Would we return, ABSOLUTELY!! Beautiful apartment, so happy to have stayed. Easy check in, great communication and highly recommended. Thanks or making our stay relaxing, enable and easy. Until next time...

Excellent service, food. The pool was great, too. Excellent breakfast buffet. The seafood buffet was overpriced compared to the food options they had, but otherwise a very comfortable and happy stay in the hotel.

Room was spacious, clean and seems new. Love the carpark which links straight to lobby.
They were very nice and gave us a sweet message and treat as my husband and I were on our honeymoon trip.
Downside was on the security deposit. They charge it to my card and refunded only after a few days. If it is a hold amount, there should not be any charges. If they charged the amount, the refund should be immediate on the same day.
We booked assessable room which was for the handicap. The doors are automated etc. The reception said they were unable to reach me by phone call and they couldn't email me because I booked via third party vendor. It would have been better if they can contact via email which they chose not to. This is something which they could have improved and definitely will improve our stay experience.
Other than this, everything else was great!
Note: When we drove to Mantra, right in front of the hotel was a cemetery. Just in case anyone superstitious, this info may be helpful.
