Cleverly folded into the Lincolnshire countryside is the building that once served as the superhighway of family and business connection. Its red brick exterior now weathered a little, comfortable in its age, a witness of newly pointed brick outlines the doorway that was once the only village portal to the world. Nowadays it’s the Old PostHouse, providing the world with welcoming hospitality and modern standards. Jules and Tony well deserve the Rose award for excellence in accommodation. The reception we received was like being welcomed by a favourite relative. Our room had all the details provided, choice of beverage, a slice of delicious and fresh cake, and most importantly, a large and comfortable bed. Breakfasts are excellent. Plan on skipping lunch. Tony’s secret recipe granola is excellent, today’s rhubarb compôte delicious. If you are not in rhubarb season, well, shame. Cooked breakfast is superb. What really sets the OP apart is the welcome and the hospitality, genuinely helpful things like proactively providing books of walks because we mentioned we had boots with us. Pointing out books on their shelves that might be of interest. That kind of thing is just not to be bought, and demonstrates why simple, old fashioned hospitality wins out over the soulless dubious room hire that is becoming prevalent . Food and facilities are consistently five star, and whilst a cynic may say that anyone can provide ‘stuff’ many B&Bs do not. They don’t pay attention to their customers. Julia and Tony do, and it shows.
