Toorongo River Chalets

DO NOT STAY HERE. Not a luxurious chalet, very over priced. Ran out of gas which meant no heat, no cooking, no hot water. Could not contact the owner for over an hour. I asked for a discount and Frank (owner) offered the night for free and then reneged. I tried to get in contact many times to resolve the problem, extremely poor communication. Extremely unsatisfied, this place is over priced and the owners are very unprofessional. DO NOT STAY HERE.

This place could be amazing. it has great views of the land and river. But unfortunately it wasn't up to 4 star standards. When we arrived at the Treefern Chalet, it was absoloutley freeing. No heater was put on. We also noticed no instructions for ANY appliances. But we let these things slide and we had a great first night. The second night was a disaster! We were gonna have a spa which was outside (the reason why we booked this place) and there was no hot water to fill it up. then we discovered our heater stopped working. As both are run by gas bottles. We had no gas left. The same thing happened with the couple next door and they had a baby with them. You can't have no heat in Noojee in winter. This an essential that should not run out of gas! Management were very slow to respond to our complaint but in the end got us to move to the Redwood house which is....nice but not what we paid for. The house was also freezing with no instructions again. They did apologies to us and gave us wine but this is very disappointing and does give us confidence to wanna come back here.

The location here is stunning and the grounds immaculate. But sadly that did not extend to the accommodation. I have waited over a week to write this in the hope we might hear something from the management in terms of an apology. But nothing. When trying to book, communication was slack. Never a good business model, absentee management. Guests need to know someone is available should the need arise. And we certainly had a need! When we arrived the unit had NOT been cleaned. And it was also very 'tired'. Having run an impeccable BnB for over a decade (NEVER a bad report) I certainly have standards. Because of absentee management it took sometime for cleaners to come (both of whom were apologetic and efficient when they did). As was the maintenance man (who arrived with a couple of nice bottles of wine) to sort out a heater that wasn't working. This place fell well short and at the price, NOT good enough. Very disappointed in a place that should have been...and still could be...absolutely stunning.
