My family and travelled to Niigata at the end of April 2023 and had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Okura Niigata. Prior to the trip, I had reached out to them via email to inquire about coordinating a van + driver for us (6 of us) so that we could go visit some sake breweries and to make dinner reservations for us at a nearby restaurant. The concierge team was amazing and booked a large van (jumbo taxi) and driver for the day. they also ensured that the van could accommodate a folding wheelchair for one group member that needed it. The van and driver arrived on time and was quite reasonably priced. Great experience that was made possible by the hotel team! Upon return to the hotel, we realized we had left some items on the van - the hotel called the taxi company and coordinated the return of our items. Beyond these experiences, the hotel itself is a bit older but rooms are comfortable and fairly spacious for a hotel room in Japan. Location is great and the breakfast buffet was one of the better ones we had on this trip. If I should ever travel back to Niigata, I will most definitely be staying here. The hotel and team won my business by going above and beyond...even for Japan standards of customer service! Domo arigatogozaima****a!!!

The size, facilities and quality of the room are very good, especially since it is surrounded by the sea on three sides, and most of them are sea view rooms. The windows are large and the lighting is excellent! It is an 8-minute walk from the Sado Pier, which is very convenient for going to Sado Island! The only drawback is that the hotel is relatively ”isolated”. Unlike the hotels near JR, there are all kinds of food and convenience stores as soon as you walk out; there are almost no restaurants around this hotel. You can walk about 1 km to the fish pier of Pia Bandai, or walk 1.2 km to the Niigata Daily News Agency and Bandai Bridge to find food. If you like quietness, you can definitely choose this place. There is a bus stop downstairs that goes directly to Niigata JR or the city center (but it's only a little more than 1 km on foot)

Stayed for 1 night watching soccer. It is a little far from Niigata Station, but within walking distance. The surrounding area is comfortable for shopping and playing in the downtown area. It is also close to the bar. The hotel itself is old, but it is perfect with a chic design. It is enough to sleep in a single room. The restroom is also an old-fashioned washlet. Breakfast is buffet and you can enjoy Niigata local food. It is a hotel that I want to use next time.

He cares about me in many ways, proactively asking me about any problems I might have and letting me know. They responded very politely.
I was staying for several nights, and on the morning of the second day I rushed out and had to clean up, so I felt a bit sorry, but everything was carefully tidyed up (my necklace, which was a valuable item, was still in place). I also felt that they took good care of the cleaning.
I would like to visit you again if I have a chance.

The location is less than 5 minutes' walk from Niigata Station. It is located in a quiet alley, so it is very quiet. In addition, the breakfast is rich and balanced. In addition to rare fruits (tomatoes and strawberries), even the miso soup is full of vegetables. Excellent value for money, highly recommended.
The nearby Hakusan Shrine is a famous place of worship for marriage, and the Bandai Museum of Art building can be climbed up to see the distance.

If I would comment on the hotel, I would say worth the cost and balance facilities in all aspects. Very presentable lobby compare to the price. Breakfast is good. Also got hot spring. 5 minutes working from the station. 7-11 downstairs and lot of small restaurant around. Front desk staff is good and no problem with English. Cheaper than other hotel I am considering. This is the hotel I would stay again.

Since it is a sunroute brand, there is a sense of security as an inn for traveling alone. However, among the many sunroutes, the facility is quite old. The key is made of old-fashioned metal and is not automatic locking. The air conditioning is also controlled as a whole and there is no room. The bathtub is also old. It is about a 5-minute walk from Mandaiguchi, Niigata Station, and there is a convenience store right in front of you. Amenity is now a type that picks up by yourself at the front desk. I didn't use the buffet because I stayed without meals this time.

We stayed two nights at the JR East Hotel Mets at the Niigata station after arriving from Tokyo by Shinkansen. I think we exited to the western concourse and signs to hotel were easy enough to follow. The walkway enters level 3 of the hotel. Very conveniently, right next to a 7-Eleven. Also super convenient is the sake museum. Definitely must visit. Check-in was efficient and we were given rooms on the top floor (level 9). A rather basic room that has everything except for an in-room safe. No coffee (nor bottled water) was provided with the kettle but only tea. Not a problem as free coffee can be made in the waiting area next to the reception. Also in the reception area is where more bathroom amenities are provided. Only toothbrushes are in the room. The bath area in the room is large with a wash area and a stool like at the onsen along with a bathtub. That’s where a visit to the amenities area in reception comes in handy. Wifi was speedy enough for our needs. The convenient location was great for us as we arrived in the rain. There is plenty of choices for food and even shopping. Do explore around. We did buy day passes for the Niigata City Loop Bus (JPY500 per adult). Check-out was as efficient as check-in. While there wasn’t much of a view, the hotel was just right for us. Definitely worth considering

The single room is too small and larger boxes cannot be opened.
The twin room is pretty good and has a lot of space.
The hotel's breakfast was very good. I didn't try lunch or dinner, but I saw many Japanese company dinners held in the hotel's restaurant.
The location is very good, just next to Niigata Station. It is very convenient to take the Shinkansen and bus. There are various supermarkets and restaurants in Cocolo next to it.

GGuest UserIt is one of the few inns in Niigata City where you can park your bike, and you can park at a private bicycle parking lot with a roof (reservation required). It is close to Niigata Station and there are many izakaya around, so you can enjoy seafood and local sake from the Sea of Japan. The facility is convenient for large communal baths, restaurants, and convenience stores of 1F to enter with indoor-equipped work clothes. Breakfast buffet is a large number of items in Japanese, Western and Chinese, and you can taste Niigata's specialties, including bristle squid sashimi, from the morning. I was able to meet a good hotel in Ku 々.
GGuest UserWe stayed in a twin room after renovation. It is widely used and satisfactory. Breakfast was also enough for free, and there were menus along the theme, salad and fruit. The location is a little walk to the station and it is less 々 far to Mandai, so it may be playing with the service. It was thankful for the child to put breakfast in the box and eat it in the room. Thank you for your care.
GGuest UserIt's on the opposite side of Bandaiguchi, so it's quiet. I had heard about the directions after getting off the Shinkansen in advance, so it was easy to understand. I was told to go down to the 3rd floor or the ground by stairs, but there was an elevator, and when I tried to get on it, I saw the hotel sign. There was a cold towel in front of the front desk, which was appreciated. And there are T-bags such as bath salts, coffee, and tea, which I used in the room. About room, it is very common. The air conditioning was weak, so people who are sensitive to heat may complain. The ceramic plate bath warmed my body and felt very good. I was sweating profusely and had a shower, but I immediately returned to the bath in my room, sweating away and feeling refreshed. Best of all, the breakfast is wonderful. With this, 800 yen is cheap. Full of homemade flavor. It was a time when vegetables were expensive, so I was impressed by salads and boiled dishes such as broccoli that were not frozen. First of all, we quench our thirst with tomato juice made with a mixer. As expected of rice. At this hotel, there is a contracted farmer, and the photo of that person is posted, so I was able to enjoy Koshihikari with peace of mind.
GGuest UserThis is a revisit of Ku 々. This bedrock bath is my first experience. It's near the entrance, but first wash your body in the large communal bath in the back of the inn. So change into Samue and move near the entrance again. It was nice to sweat a lot in the bedrock bath, but I went to the large communal bath in the back while wearing a soaked samue. The inside of the building was quite cold, probably because of ventilation for corona measures, and the body was cold to the core with a soaked samue. It would be nice to have a space where you can change clothes near the bedrock bath, but there is only a paid private bath. Although it is a large communal bath, the indoor bath does not seem to be a hot spring. There is a sauna, but there is no cold bath. There is a sleeping space, but there is a sign that says ”cleaning” throughout your stay, and hot water is never filled. Supper is reasonable. The sashimi was delicious. Rice too. Breakfast has coffee, but no juice or milk. The room is large. There is no cold water pot, so you have to secure some water at night. The most impressive thing was the bedrock bath.
GGuest UserThe hot springs were open for a long time and I was able to enjoy them enough. I was happy that the temperature was relatively high. The room was a rare outer corridor & open door, which was uncomfortable at first, but I got used to it. The room is very small and the layout is more like a nursing care facility than a hotel. The lighting was dazzling and my eyes were tired. I think it would have been nice if it could be dimmed or light bulb color.
GGuest UserA clean and nice hotel.
The parking lot was a parking space that surrounds the site, but I couldn't park it, so I was guided to a contract parking lot a little far away. There is no particular problem.
The room is also a simple style, but the unit bus is quite narrow. It was a little painful for me who was hard ^^;
Amenity is the minimum required, and there is a vending machine on the 1st and 3rd floors, and a coin laundry on the 3rd floor. There are no alcohols such as beer, so you should buy it in advance.
GGuest UserConvenient because it is really in front of the station. There was a convenience store on the first floor and there were several places to eat in the same building. There was a lot of places to eat because of the station. However, the lobby was a little difficult to understand on the 4 floor. The station was overlooked from the room and I could want the train to come and go, which is good for people who like railways.
AAK520Excellent service. You got everthing you need in the room. Also got free coffee, tea, cake in the lobby. Free parking. Recommended for short stay. Huge bed very comfortable.
GGuest UserParking was free. When the car is full, the nearby coin parking also corresponds to the service ticket. The station seems to be close, and there are several restaurants within walking distance with color 々. Convenience stores are a bit far, but you can walk in about five minutes. The room is small. It feels like an old business hotel in the center of the city, and there is never a filthy feeling. It is also a negative point that only one elevator is small, but breakfast is very substantial and delicious, so it is all recovered. I was happy to have a good breakfast in a short time even in a busy morning, with exquisite selection of sausages, raw *, raw tarakko, curry, etc. The coffee in the breakfast corner is not very delicious, but the coffee in the drop bag placed in front of the elevator is delicious, so I recommend it.
