It takes 4 stops to take the bus to Niigata Station. It takes only a few minutes to walk to the bus station. You can also walk from the underground street with a very historical feeling. It is very cool in summer. It is 1000 yen to take a taxi to the train station. There are many temples and shrines around the hotel, as well as the old sites of the consulates in the countries of the year, 8 minutes walk from the Niigata Art Museum. From the hotel room you can see the Sea of Japan directly and walk to the beach for a quarter of an hour. Going out is the famous Huajie in Niigata, restaurants, pubs and clubs are all around. The hotel has a very rich breakfast, curry rice, omelet and yogurt are very good. The Marco Polo Restaurant and the Sapporo Restaurant are great, and there is a famous Chinese restaurant. The room bath is pola, the bath salt is DHC. Very characteristic is the quilt cover, is made with Japanese and paper fiber, very comfortable.

It's conveniently located right in front of the station. I had a comfortable time. When I chose the plan that included breakfast, it was a very varied buffet style meal, and I was able to enjoy two types of Koshihikari rice from Niigata with various side dishes. When I stay at this hotel again, I would like to choose a plan that includes breakfast.

We stayed two nights at the JR East Hotel Mets at the Niigata station after arriving from Tokyo by Shinkansen. I think we exited to the western concourse and signs to hotel were easy enough to follow. The walkway enters level 3 of the hotel. Very conveniently, right next to a 7-Eleven. Also super convenient is the sake museum. Definitely must visit. Check-in was efficient and we were given rooms on the top floor (level 9). A rather basic room that has everything except for an in-room safe. No coffee (nor bottled water) was provided with the kettle but only tea. Not a problem as free coffee can be made in the waiting area next to the reception. Also in the reception area is where more bathroom amenities are provided. Only toothbrushes are in the room. The bath area in the room is large with a wash area and a stool like at the onsen along with a bathtub. That’s where a visit to the amenities area in reception comes in handy. Wifi was speedy enough for our needs. The convenient location was great for us as we arrived in the rain. There is plenty of choices for food and even shopping. Do explore around. We did buy day passes for the Niigata City Loop Bus (JPY500 per adult). Check-out was as efficient as check-in. While there wasn’t much of a view, the hotel was just right for us. Definitely worth considering

Located 30 minutes walk from Niigata Station across Mandai Bashi bridge and one alley from national route. There is a free transfer bus service connecting toyoko inn in front of Niigata station and toyoko in in Furumachi because it is far from Niigata station. The breakfast was changed from a simple buffet to lunch distribution by the corona cherry blossoms recently.

I stayed during the snow damage. The bathrooms are switched in the evening and in the morning. In the evening, the bathhouse ”Hanakyo” on the 2nd floor of the East Building is for men, and the bathhouse ”Gekkyou” on the 1st floor is for women, and vice versa in the morning. Breakfast is a buffet at ”Dynasty” on the 2nd floor of the West Building, and Yasuda yogurt is also served. As a souvenir, I recommend the ”Senkei Manju” moon cake with the Senkei logo as a motif, but I wouldn't recommend it. Before checking in and when checking out, you can rest in the lounge on the 1st floor of the West Building. Only hot drinks are served before check-in, and before and after check-out hot drinks, frozen yogurt and cold drinks from Yasuda Yogurt are served. My family and travelled to Niigata at the end of April 2023 and had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Okura Niigata. Prior to the trip, I had reached out to them via email to inquire about coordinating a van + driver for us (6 of us) so that we could go visit some sake breweries and to make dinner reservations for us at a nearby restaurant. The concierge team was amazing and booked a large van (jumbo taxi) and driver for the day. they also ensured that the van could accommodate a folding wheelchair for one group member that needed it. The van and driver arrived on time and was quite reasonably priced. Great experience that was made possible by the hotel team! Upon return to the hotel, we realized we had left some items on the van - the hotel called the taxi company and coordinated the return of our items. Beyond these experiences, the hotel itself is a bit older but rooms are comfortable and fairly spacious for a hotel room in Japan. Location is great and the breakfast buffet was one of the better ones we had on this trip. If I should ever travel back to Niigata, I will most definitely be staying here. The hotel and team won my business by going above and beyond...even for Japan standards of customer service! Domo arigatogozaima****a!!!

I booked a deluxe room for 3 adults and 1 child 11 years old. I was asked to bring one extra bed and the amenities for four people. There were only 3 sets of bath towels and face towels, so I asked for one, and they were very responsive and delivered quickly. It was one of my most memorable trips with my family, so I'm very satisfied. Since it's not within easy reach, I had a very comfortable stay for two nights.
