New Orleans Marriott

We booked the hotel seeing that it had 4 stars, there was a pool and the amenities list said there was an oven and microwave for the room. I can tell you that when we got there we were definitely surprised and not in a good way. The pool was closed even though they put a sign on the door thanking people for staying 6 ft apart. I don’t understand how you can be 6 ft apart if you can’t even go into the pool area, let alone the pool itself. Another reason we were extremely unhappy was because we had brought frozen food expecting to be able to heat it up and there was no oven, nor a microwave in the room. For a 4 star hotel that is ridiculous! Additionally, the hotel was doing some COVID-19 relief programs which in retrospect is very nice of them due to the fact that New Orleans is a poor area, but they did not let us know about it when we booked the room and the outside the hotel was full of homeless people and others just sitting around smoking and drinking by both doors outside and roaming throughout the lobby. My husband and I were very displeased and even though the hotel was giving them food and water, they created a place where anyone could have definitely caught the virus if they aren’t careful enough or if anyone walking in had it. If we ever go back to New Orleans, we will not be staying there.

The hotel is located directly on Mississipsi and you are on the next street block in the Frenchquater without then hear the permanent sound from there in the room at night. The reception is in the 11. Stock and you have to always change the denb driving chair on the way to the room, which is something hidden around the corner, but you will get used to it quickly. The breakfast is very good, we had also a dinner there, that is probably much better in a restaurant around the corner. The area for meetings is OK, which is partly noisy air conditioning cannot be placed in the rooms. My room was large, clean, well furnished. The room service did not clean at 2 nights per day, perhaps it was simply forgotten. I had the adapter for American. Unfortunately, the hotel cannot help, I expected you to borrow a adapter or buy a cheap one. After all, one knew a store in 10 minutes away, where I could actually buy one. All hotel staff were friendly and seemed committed. I would take the hotel again, you have a great view of Mississippi and town if the room is on the right side.

We stayed here for five nights last week. We were treated like family by Corey, Eric, and Ronald. The staff was attentive and helpful. Corey took care of us from check-in to check-out. He arranged a great tour, gave advice on parking, recommended restaurants, etc.. The hotel is perfectly located and has a beautiful view of the river. We walked everywhere in the French Quarter. The courtyard in the center of the hotel is quaint and quiet and we made it our meeting place every day. We will definitely stay here next time. Can’t wait to come back! Thank you!

We stayed for the LSU vs FSU labor day weekend game 2022. Cynthia and every hotel employee was so lovely and made our stay so nice. The room was very comfortable and clean. I had noted it was my husband's 50th birthday celebration when I made the reservation and we had a bottle of wine and a signed birthday card waiting for him in the room when we checked in which was a nice surprise. The hotel was in a great location, very central to both the French Quarter and the Warehouse District and felt very safe as well. If you are considering the Sundeck rooms, note, the 4th floor Sundeck rooms facing the river do not have a view. It was nice to have an outside seating area but I don't think it's worth the extra money, plus that side of the building was near the train tracks and we were woken up in the middle of the night by the train horns every night of our stay. Our friends had an in interior room and they didn't hear a thing. Overall I still give the hotel a 5 star. It was lovely and I'd stay here again.

Excellent location in the France quarter, nice staff. The room was small and cramped for us, shower with weak water flow, no table and a chair in the rooms or in the lobby, and no equipment to make coffee/tea.
Hotel Monteleone

The hotel is in a great location, walking distance to all the sights. The rooftop pool is fabulous and our children loved it. Unfortunately, our experience was not perfect and that was due to the staff being rude to us on two different occasions. Firstly, I asked if they could get us a small amount of milk for our baby's bottle. We have stayed at many hotels and have never, ever, been charged for a hotel providing a small cup of milk to us. We were therefore surprised when they tried to charge us a very expensive rate for a small cup of milk. I complained because this was the first time we have ever had a hotel try to charge us. They did eventually give it to us for free but the staff were not very pleasant about it. In the morning, I requested late checkout because it was raining and we had 3 young kids. Again, the staff member was rude and actually hung up the phone on me after eventually, reluctantly, agreeing to give us an extra hour. Unfortunately, the rude treatment from those two staff members made our experience less enjoyable. I would say that, having stayed at many places where staff bend over backwards to accommodate families with young children, this hotel could do more to be child-friendly.
