Hotels near Mizuki-kofun Tumulus, Nara

Nara Visitor Centre and Inn is charming place located right next to Sarasuwa pond. It is about 7 mins walk from the Kintetsu Nara station. Very near to Kofukuji temple. I stayed from 15-17 June 2023. I felt warmly received by the staff on duty at the inn. Quite a lot of them are Mandarin and English speaking. I really appreciate one of the elderly gentleman’s staff warmth when he took the time to explain to me the attractions around the inn that I can visit, and he speaks Mandarin very well! I also appreciate the other staff’s eagerness to assist when I asked them questions about tours or to recommend places for breakfast. A shoutout also to Yukina, who entertained me when I wanted to do the cosplay and Japanese calligraphy. I also really enjoyed the Japanese dance activity provided during my stay. I really enjoyed my stay here :) I booked a Japanese style room, 8 tatami mats. Spacious for 1. Toiletries provided are sufficient. view from the room showed Kofukuji temple but was blocked by a tree. The only issue I had was that I was given the room at the end of the corridor. I personally preferred not to have a room at end of corridor for personal reasons, but the room was bright, airy and comfortable, and I was happy with it so did not request for a change.

I was more interested in a nice hotel with a nice atmosphere in a good location every time I went sightseeing in Nara, so I stayed for the first time. Everywhere is very well maintained and although it is an old hotel, it was very comfortable. The room I booked is a renewed Japanese modern non-smoking twin. After all the air conditioner is new. It was a very hot day, but I was able to spend comfortably in the room. There is also a foot massage machine, so you can heal your tired legs from sightseeing. As for the lighting, I have something to tell the hotel a little. The large communal bath is not a hot spring, but it is well managed, comfortable and relaxing. The lobby has a drink server as a service for guests, which was really helpful in the hot season. I booked with breakfast and dinner, but the taste of Nara was very delicious and I enjoyed Nara sake. The location is close to Kintetsu Nara Station and close to tourist spots, so it is a place where you can return to the hotel and rest as soon as you get tired of sightseeing. Convenience stores, shopping streets and souvenir shops are also nearby, making it the best location. If I have a chance to go to Nara again, I definitely want to stay here. At that time, I would be happy if other rooms were renewed. I'm sure the rooms that have not been renewed are clean, but new equipment such as air conditioning and lighting is a condition for me to spend comfortably. I look forward to it.

I stayed here for 2 nights with my family of 4 (a couple and 2 elementary school students) during the year-end and New Year holidays. This inn seems to have opened in October 2022 after being renovated from another ryokan, so it feels more for foreigners than for Japanese people. Of course, the staff can communicate in Japanese, but they seemed to be foreign nationals. All staff were friendly. It was my first time in Nara, but the location was good. It is close to Nara Park, and all shrine areas such as Kasuga Taisha are within walking distance. It is also an area where there are many stylish restaurants, so I think adults can enjoy it. My family had two elementary school students who liked and disliked meals, so I prefer family restaurants and Italian restaurants rather than bars and izakayas, but it was okay. There is no elevator, but the suitcases and luggage I left before check-in were carried to the room. It's a wooden building, so the walls are thin, and there was a sign saying no loud noises. The bath is a hot spring and the spring quality is good, but it cannot be said that it is large. There are 3 showers in the men's bath and 10 lockers with locks in the dressing room, but it was so cramped if two adults changed clothes at the same time. If you are an adult, it is better to have about 2 people at the same time, and if 3 to 4 people enter, it will be full. It's just a little bigger than a home bath. There was one coin laundry. You need to bring your own detergent, but there is a washing machine and dryer, which is recommended for long-term guests and those who want to keep luggage to a minimum. Necessary amenities are available at the front desk. There is no refrigerator and TV in the room, so it would be nice if it was easy, but it was a little inconvenient when drinking alcohol bought at a convenience store in the room. The toilet in the room has also been renovated, and it feels like a clean home toilet.

I think the general experience around this area of Japan is pretty much the same Kind of Old fashioned as here is more of a rural area of japan If you are only staying for a night to visit the deer park and chill then this can be a good choice Oh there is a ****** nearby We heard some kind of haunting stories about the hotel area not sure if that’s worth mentioning

A hotel that feels like a business ＋ hot spring hotel, just next to JR Nara Station. The room is clean and quite large, ３ F, but the view from the window was completely elevated by the railway, and I was worried about the sound of the train. The bathroom in the room has only a shower, but there is a large communal bath in a natural hot spring, so I was able to relax. There was no problem with the hot springs and breakfast, and it was as expected. Free bottled water 1 book in the refrigerator, WiFi is also free to connect.

It is within walking distance from JR Nara Station. I myself had a discount without consecutive nights and cleaning and stayed very cheaply. However, I can hear the voice next to me probably because the wall is thin. Breakfast, but it's a pity that you don't find proteins, although you have plenty of vegetables and carbohydrates. The good thing is welcome coffee, you can get it in a separate room, but there are many books related to Nara in that room, and I enjoyed it. I wrote a lot, but the cheapest is 〇４.

I stayed there on the first Saturday after the hotel opened. To be honest, it was the worst. I had to wait quite a long time to check in. I think I was still on the short side. It seems that some people had to wait even longer. There was not much to eat in the executive lounge either. They did not replenish the cakes when they ran out, and there was not much food in the evening or at night. There were only snacks, no hot meals. They did not replenish the cups when they ran out, so you should not expect the same as you would in a lounge at another hotel. The restaurant was a buffet both in the morning and at night, but there was not much to choose from and the hot food was lukewarm. There was a line of people waiting to enter in the morning. There was clearly a shortage of staff, and food, tableware, and towels were not replenished, and no one cleaned up the tables after meals. The scales in the large public bath were covered in dust. When I told the staff about it, they said ”I'm sorry!”, but they left it as it was. It's just not possible! I want my money back.

The location is quite far from JR Nara Station and Todaiji, the core of Nara travel, but Kintetsu Railway Shin-Omiya Station is a 10-minute walk away and Heijogu Historical Park is close. Bicycles are also available for rent, but there is a fee and there are no electric bicycles. Hot springs available in the spa’s main bath. The breakfast was good, the lobby was spacious and comfortable, and the staff were friendly. However, please pay more attention to room cleaning.

Kirito did an exceptional service by recommending a great local Nara sake to pair with my lunch course., The second day of Kaiseki was equally delightful and I was extremely surprised to be greeted by the 料理長, Mr Nobukazu Yoshida who honestly provided such an “Omotenashi” experience throughout my time at Azekura. Mr Okubo Ren and Ms Miyamae also delivered great service during my lunch dining on the second day. Overall, the dining experience at Azekura was the highlight of my stay and till now, I couldn’t help but marvel due to the great service that was initiated by Mr Wang Yu Wen. Additionally, I would like to commend the impeccable service I received during the check-in process. I I was impressed at Mr Kim’s patience and service throughout the check-in experience, and I was really glad to get a warm welcoming experience from both Mr Arjun and Ms Pitcha at the lobby. Their attention to detail and willingness to accommodate specific requests made a significant difference, setting the tone for an enjoyable and happy stay. It is evident that the team takes pride in delivering top-notch service, and their efforts did not go unnoticed. Furthermore, the hospitality at the lounge was exemplary. Despite the huge crowd during the festive season, the lounge staff did create a comfortable and enjoyable one. Both Murata and Pabina were some of those whom I felt had delivered great service during the evening cocktail hours. Lastly
