The 5 bed female dorm was quite spacious and the ensuite bathroom was quite big, and both were very clean. The buffet breakfast included in the price was varied and delicious. The staff gave me useful advice for my trip. It was really easy to drop my bag off in the morning of check in and pick it up on the evening of check out without having to warn in advance. The location is perfect for taking the Circumvesuviana train to Sorrento or Pompei, or for any train leaving from Central station. The hostel has CCTV around, and I felt very safe there. The rules of the hostel were clear and reasonable. Whilst it's location is central, it is necessary to cross a few busy roads to get to it (especially if you come from Central station or Circumvesuviana) It is also not so well sign-posted but you just need to look carefully for the street number and street name. This hostel doesn't organise parties, bar crawls or evening events but is a place where you can get a good nights' sleep.

A lovely place to stay that is right by the main central station. The rooms are modern with high ceilings and are spotlessly clean. The host is incredibly helpful and could not have been more efficient and polite. You can help yourself to a range of very reasonably priced drinks from the fridge in the communal dining area where the buffet breakfast is served. It really is a 3 minute walk to the station itself and about 25/30 mins walk to the Ferry port. As it sits right above the tunnels of the train station you do get occasional vibrations through the floor as the trains pass underneath. You don't hear them though and for a city centre hotel it is surprisingly quiet. it's like a little peaceful oasis in a chaotic city.

The bed is super comfortable, the breakfast is great and it's nice having a little balcony. Trip.com says the room has a kettle but it doesn't. In the winter it would be nice to have a kettle as well as slippers to walk on the cold marble floor, especially since I can't control the heat as it's controlled by the front desk. The front desk staff are very helpful with ordering taxis with flat rates so you won't get cheated.

We missed our train from Naples to Rome, being there last train of the night we were left to scramble to find a room at 11:00 pm in a city of which we were not familiar. With many hotels booked, our options were limited. We came across Hotel Vergilius Billia and could not be more pleased! Sabrina at the front desk was extremely kind and helpful!! The room was spotless and spacious! The bathroom was beautiful! In the morning we enjoyed a delicious breakfast! We highly recommend if you are in Naples a stay Hotel Vergilius Billia!

I booked three rooms of the same type, two of which were over 20 square meters in size, with separate wet and dry bathrooms, and one of which was barrier-free. The room I stayed in was very small, only big enough to put a suitcase, and the other one could only be placed in the corridor at the door of the bathroom, which was very inconvenient to enter and exit. The bathroom was not separated into wet and dry areas, and it was very wet and uncomfortable for two nights. The room has a balcony, just opposite the train station, with convenient transportation, good breakfast, and many restaurants nearby.

The bar to have drinks in the evening is filthy, dirty table linens that are not linens, had marks that has been used and spilt drinks or food. The chairs and table feels and looks dirty, we took our drinks in our room instead. The breakfast has no cooked food just hard boiled eggs, bread are hard, people have to queue to wait to be served by 1 waiter, you cannot take from the table, waiter has to serve even coffee. It’s scary around the hotel, police are always there, dodgy shops around. Stay nearby or at hotels around Ovo Castle. It’s too dirty aroung Gibraldi station where this hotel is located.

We hosted our relatives who came from outside Naples in this hotel for our wedding and we found a level of professionalism and attention to the guests that we had never seen before, plus on Monday 22 April we organized a fish-based dinner with 30 people in their all-fresh restaurant and super good. They made us look great with all the guests. The director Antonio is a helpful person who is always attentive to the customer's needs. Top

I and my boy had a night of relaxation in one of the Junior Suites of this hotel discovered by chance but that was a pleasant discovery. The rustic design room, as well as the rest of the hotel, the corner of the hydromassage bath with fancy flower decorations and colored LED lights create an intimate, relaxing and suggestive a**osphere. The girl we loved was the bluetooth box to listen to music in the bathroom! The room was equipped with all the necessary services, top cleaning and they gave us the opportunity to dine in the room by ordering from outside (we called Glovo, but they offered us a few pizzeria/restaurant volant in the surrounding area). We also very much appreciated check-in and check-out hours (we could leave the room within 12.00 by doing everything very quietly) and breakfast could be both ordered and served in the room by scanning a QR CODE, or consumed at the bar (up to 11.30) where we found a very well-provided, varied and quality-product buffet. Surely the price-quality ratio is excellent and we were surprised and satisfied. We will surely return!

RRip RipWe booked feeling a little nervous as we read the various reviews but also hesitated with little experience of a B&B Guest house.
There seemed very few choices in Naples ( Chiaia district) a prime , safer area ; to have a suite with some kitchenette and a very reasonable price.
We were warmly welcomed to our studio suite, spacious , well organised with a lot of thought in the location of design of fixtures and furniture; seating to take breakfast, working desk and or relax on the sofa.
Brightly lit room with big “can open” sound proof windows or option to use the air conditioning system . Views of the nearby residential apar**ents actually helped us feel at home ( even though we were not able to enjoy the Naples sea view)
Bed, mattress , linen and pillows were fine ( for those who require more specific finer finishes should not go to a Guest house)
Bathroom was practical and had all that one needed, with hand held shower and rain shower installed.
Kitchenette had electric stove , coffee maker, kettle , Fridge and utensils. Again sufficient for a 4 night stay.
Any longer an oven or toaster would have been nice to heat up bread.
The highlight worth mentioning, as most reviews have , is Massimo who helped us with recommendations, guided us with a local map, booked day tour to Pompeii, our taxi and so much more..
Honestly, for those of us who have been lucky to stay in 5 star hotels will know that you don’t always get this type of discreet professional reliable hospitality that Massimo has shown us.
If you don’t mind staying at a guest house which may sound daunting , or that the entrance of the building may be slightly off the side street but having read this review will reassure you that the 24 hours security guards and the gated premises made it feel like a home away from home.
Thank you Massimo
and team for keeping our room super clean , daily when we really didn’t expect the service. Likewise appreciated the small touches of receiving disposable raincoats in case of heavy rain on our tour.
CChristutiWhat a wonderful experience!!! The room was just perfect. Extremely spacious room and the tub/jacuzzi was an excellent addition. Bathroom was a comfortable size. Kitchenette was also a wonderful surprise (I don’t remember reading about it when I booked). Mini fridge was perfect to keep water bottle and beverages cold. Very cleaned and beautifully presented. The view from the room was just great and the location couldn’t be more perfect. Walking distance from the port (great as I had planned on visiting Capri and Ischia) and many other sightseeing musts. Also many places to eat and stores around the block. The host was also extremely helpful, charming and attentive. She allowed us to keep our bags in the lobby and do check-in early as we were ready visit and sightsee many places as soon as we got there around noon. She was also of great help after we checked-out, as I accidentally left the car keys in the lobby, I was able to recover them. All in all we had a great experience and time and will definitely stay again. Highly recommended.
KKwokThe front desk service of the hotel is good, the restaurant service is good, the room has a strong fragrance of detergent, you need to get used to it. Many facilities in the room are not used. The air conditioner can only be turned on at a maximum of 27 degrees. It is very noisy for almost 24 hours on the side of the road.
GGuest User3rd hotel we’ve stayed in on Piazza Garibaldi. The location might be a problem for some as there are a lot of people hanging around in the square and side streets but it felt safe to me. In fact I enjoyed sitting on our first floor balcony 12 feet above the pavement where a lot of locals were hanging out; it added to the charm of the place. It has a tiny ground floor footprint and is accessed via a door in the side street. Pretty unremarkable on arrival. But when you get onto the first floor the corridors and bedrooms are white marble throughout - floor and walls. It does look good but means the corridors are echoey. Room itself is good quality but I have concerns about the bathrooms and particularly the shower. Any interior designer surely knows that wet feet on untreated marble are a nasty accident waiting to happen: the 2 just don’t mix. The marble floor of the shower is downright dangerous; once you’ve rinsed off the shower gel, etc being in the shower is like driving with bald tyres on black ice. There’s nothing to hold onto to steady yourself either. I urge the hotel to provide a Bath mat in each room to mitigate this risk. But for this I’d have scored it 4. Breakfast is taken in the basement and I thought it fine. All the staff we spoke to were pleasant and professional.
GGuest UserThe good: Great location, right next to Garibaldi train station. Plenty of places to eat nearby. The lift is great. It does have a slot to put 10 cents in, but if you don't have a ten cent coin, the lift still works. The bad: We had booked and paid for 14 nights to stay at Chez Moi. We arrived on the first day at 6:00 p.m. We phoned the owner, and he sent a woman around. We followed her into the reception area. She then told us we couldn't stay there. After having read other reviews, I thought ”OK we're going to be sent around the corner to the Hotel Poker”, which is what Chez Moi does sometimes. But no, we weren't that fortunate. She repeated that we couldn't stay there. I showed her the proof that we had booked and paid (using both my phone and paper printouts) but she said we couldn't stay. She then escorted us out of the premises and locked the door. I understand that mix-ups happen sometimes, but there's no need to humiliate your guests like that. I phoned our travel company (who had made the booking) and they said they would contact the owner of Chez Moi to sort it out. After a couple of hours, I rang them again, and then a few more times. A couple of times, someone from Chez Moi would turn up and tell us we couldn't stay. I said ”Can you at least give me my money back so we can find somewhere else?” But they would just walk away. We spent most of the night sitting on the steps outside of the B&B with our suitcases. We made the other guests who walked past us feel very uncomfortable. I think they thought we were beggars, and seeing us made them feel anxious. But we were paying guests just like them. Finally at 3:30 a.m., 9½ hours after arriving, I received an email (thankfully I still had a few percent of battery left on my phone) from my travel company saying Chez Moi had overbooked and had no rooms left, and we should find somewhere else to stay. It was too late to find anywhere at that time, but I'm happy to say we did get somewhere else for the other 13 nights. We know the treatment we received at Chez Moi does not represent the rest of the Neapolitan people. We would go back to Naples. But we don't want to go to a B&B that treats its paying guests with contempt. Note to Chez Moi: It seems like you have a nice place, and it's in a great location, but please learn from this experience, and start treating your guests as humans – thank you.
GGuest UserI had a short overnight stay so the location is ideal about 400m walking from the main train station. Although a good location it is not a good area at night, a lot of homeless people but there are also some nice restaurants on Garabaldi Square and good coffee shops nearby for pastries and coffee for breakfast. The Hotel reception is on the 2nd floor of the building, big staircase and as others say no lift. Not good for older people or if you have big luggage to carry. The Checkin was fine, the man explained the basics and took me to my room. The cleanliness was perfect, so clean, plenty of fresh white towels, and bathroom was spotless, no problem there. He also gave me the remote control for the air conditioning and that also worked really great so you could sleep well. Bed was fine, seemed clean also, as someone said Quirky decoration. And surprisingly quiet. So if you aren’t after a fancy hotel room it’s fine. Only Basic liquid soap amenity supplied. The Front door is locked at 8 pm, and the hotel rooms access, they give you a keys to access, so it seems quite safe, closing early in that area is probably a good thing . Easy to walk to the Old Town and all the sights.
GGuest UserI was in this building with my whole family, which was extended to the victory of the Naples scut, where the place was very nice, comfortable for parking, in the heart of Pompey. In 6 adults with 3 children we were very well welcomed and the rooms were already fitted for our needs. We visited Pompei, the centre of Naples and Positano in only two days...Ms Anna is wonderful, super-cozy and also available to accompany the client in the city's strategic points. He also offered us fresh vegetables from his garden which were very pleasant. We will certainly return to this house, because we felt cocktailed from every point of view. The beds are comfortable and the quiet area. All very clean and the bathrooms are all new and virtually new. There is also a refrigerator in every room. Super recommended.
