Bentley Hotel

So the trouble was with booking and hotel number during booking I chose 1 large bed for 2 people, but in fact it was 2 single beds

An absolute lovely, clean and cozy hotel in Motherwell. Great location, great rooms, delicious breakfast and friendly staff. I highly recommend it.

This place needs a several million pound refurb or it needs to close. Mold I’m the showers, broken sink, burst pillows, holes in walls. The area around the hotel is dingy, dirty and questionably safe.

Immediately upon arrival I found the receptionist to be rude. There was no welcome greeting or small talk, and she even said to me when she heard someone come in the door she thought it was her colleague to take over so she could go home! I was not taken up to my room either, I had to find my own way. The room appeared in good condition and clean at first glance, but as I got settled in I began noticing things. There were sections of the floor that looked like they hadn’t been vacuumed, the picture frames on the wall were squint, near the window the ceiling looked damp and the layers were peeling apart, the walls were full of chips and the paint was marked all over. The toilet and sink were okay, but the shower was grim. The grouting and sealant were sloppy, and the ceiling above the shower was black with mould. It was also the tiniest shower head I’ve ever seen, the water didn’t even come out properly, and the temperature control didn’t work; it was either far too hot or freezing cold. I would stay again in a pinch if I had little other choice, but best avoided until they get the basics right

This is a strange one. One one hand, the hotel was in a great location and was clean and good value. Car parking on site was fine and it was easy enough to find. However, there are issues. Firstly, we arrived at 16:00 which, we believed, to be a normal check-in time especially as the hotel advertises a 24/7 desk. Well, this wasn't the case when we arrived as there was nobody around. And I do mean nobody. We waited a few minutes and just had silence. We rang the Ring doorbell which normally triggers someone's mobile phone and nothing. We waited a few more minutes and rang again - nothing. We called the phone number and listened to it ring and ring and ring. After around 10 minutes we were about to leave and request a refund due when my wife decided to have one last look around and at the very back of the hotel through a few doors, she found someone who came through and took 30 minutes to check us in (with no apology for the wait I should add). Our room was large and clean. Unfortunately it was on the third floor with lots of stairs so anyone with any mobility issues should request a lower floor. Whilst the room was large and clean, it would appear that the bathroom had a direct temperature link to the bowels of the sun. I had a 'visit the facilities' rather quickly after our check-in wait and it is the first time I have ever left a bathroom with swear pouring off me due to the heat. Terrible experience we got to the hotel and was told the restaurant was closed no food at all available. Room very tired and dated, one of the worst breakfast I ever had in a hotel (no cooked option) just ‘packet’ pastries. Not even porridge in Scotland !

Had an OK or I would say, a below average stay there. We had booked two rooms. Ours was in an absolute chaos. We had no hot water and the heater was not working properly. Upon complaining, the housekeeping did not arrive until next night to get that fixed. The shower was too slow to even have your hands washed properly. All in all, the room was OK but far from comfortable. On a cold December night, one expects a room to at least be warm and have some hot water running.

Bed was comfy room was ok a bit small breakfast was fantastic staff was excellent would help in any way would definitely stay at the Bentley hotel again thank you for a lovely stay

Lovely helpful and very friendly staff as always. Breakfast still as good as we always get. Some TLC would improve the overall impression but we cannot fault the staff for doing the best they can with what they have. Thank you all again. Fantastic value for money.
