Sunset Motel at Armand's Gardens

Sunset Motel – St. Ignace, Michigan This is my second time staying at the Sunset Motel, and it has quickly earned a special place on my favorites list. It’s an older, classic roadside motel, but what it lacks in modern flash, it more than makes up for in warmth, charm, and character. The rooms are cozy and comfortable, with beautiful tongue-and-groove wood floors, walls, and ceilings that give the entire place a rustic, cabin-like feel. I absolutely adore this style—it feels like stepping back into a simpler, cozier time. Everything is well cared for, and the rooms are clean and welcoming. The grounds are absolutely lovely, with giant hanging flower baskets overflowing with color. There’s a sense of pride in the way everything is maintained—it feels personal, not corporate. The owners are some of the kindest and most helpful people you’ll meet. They truly care about their guests, and it shows in the little touches and friendly conversations. If you’re looking for a five-star luxury resort with gold faucets, room service, and a butler, this is not your place. But if you love rustic charm, comfy vibes, and genuine hospitality, you’ll be right at home here. It’s the perfect cozy spot to unwind after a day of exploring the beauty of St. Ignace and the surrounding area. I can’t recommend it enough. 🌸🏡✨

Pretty but noisy The bed was not comfortable for me. It was very firm. The floor was pretty dirty. The noise from the highway was extremely loud. If you stay in the room 1,2,3 and are a light or not so light sleeper unless you run the air conditioner all night it will keep you up. The property is beautiful outside. The owner is extremely kind and helpful.

This motel is right off the highway. The room was very clean, quite dark with the paneling. TV worked. Beds were comfortable.

What exceptionally beautiful flower gardens on the property! Wow! The management was very kind and helpful. Clean remodeled room and a nice quiet sleep.

Well appointed drive up motel. No frills but that was what we were looking for. No breakfast service. Grounds are pretty.

Amazing!! This place is amazing. Beautiful flowers covering the yard. The owners were so friendly and made sure we enjoyed our stay. Would definitely stay again.

The Sunset motel is quaint and clean. The rooms are small, but has everything you need. The only problem we had is it's location. It's on the way to the Mackinac Bridge so we were subject to loud truck traffic all night. I sleep with ear plugs and it was still loud. If the noise doesn't bother you, then it was a very nice place to stay. Gardens were amazing!!

Very nice rooms. Clean, quiet. I booked a room for 2 with 2 queen beds and was pleasantly surprised that the 2 beds were in separate rooms, which was nice as I was traveling with my son , so we had our own space. Comfy beds, large screen tv, and quiet. Did I mention the quiet? It was lovely. The young man that checked us in was really nice. Told us the best spot for the best view of the bridge which at night was spectacular! Would highly recommend the Sunset Motel!!
