I enjoyed the restaurant at the Hotel Monaco on many occasions.. I never stayed at the Hotel but found the restaurant to be an excellent choice for breakfast and dinner. The service was outstanding with real attention to detail and the food was always delicious. The weekend buffet was plenty full and the prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend a visit if you happen to be in Mexico City (close to the Metro Hidalgo)

It's the third time at that hotel, we will keep staying there as the price is quite fair, the location is just great, close to the main bus station, downtown and the main touristic sites. What we like the most of this hotel is the staff, want to mention Javier and Juan Carlos as they are between reception, bellboys and butlers, they are always helpful. Stephany from the front desk was very kind and enthusiastic. Guess they are short staffed withing the housekeeping department as the maintenance people were doing their job... Something simple from taking coffee to a room or even been a bellboy. Just hope they give them an extra for doing other things. Raymundo and Florentino from maintenance were helping us and we appreciate them taking some time to do so. I would rate this quite good, but we had a deception we never had before in this hotel... Our first room was never cleaned or anything when we came back to rest, they changed us to a different one, which we do thank, but housekeeping does need to be on point, details, basics and their checklist has always to be a priority. Also on the night of the 17th something was going on that other guests just made too much noise, till 3-4am, as we woke up many time and couldn't rest... If you read the document which you sign, part of the rules and policies are to please respect other night time, they need to work on this hard. The security guy, which works a lot compared to the normal 8-12hrs is just nuts, he was kind to help us move around and hopefully the security company which they work for see the long hours and good job they provide to this hotel. From the rest there is nothing to complaint about, the overall experience was good, could have been great. Thank you guys once again. Hope to visit you soon!

The convenient location and good service attitude of this hotel are advantages; other things are average, the breakfast is quite poor, there is no hand towel in the room, and you need to call the front desk to ask for it every time

The hotel is definitely or barely a 3 star. Hall carpets are heavily stained. Breakfast is a miserly portion of eggs with a poor presentation with toast and fruit or juice served in pewter dishes. I take objection to eat from pewter dishes, especially old ones full of rust. No cheeses or cereal was available. Nowhere was it indicated when making reservations that breakfast was not a buffet. I was actually hungry after having had breakfast. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day for me. In summary, I would strongly recommend to the hotel management to review their breakfast policy and/or to be honest when advertising the price of rooms and what comprises breakfast. Rooms are of a small size. Nothing to do with the pictures on the hotel website. Again, highly deceiving. My recommendation to travellers is to consider other hotels in the city with decent and full breakfasts and more spacious rooms. Staff did not seem to be at all bothered when complained about the quality of the breakfast or installations.

I asked the room I had booked that was 2 beds and my surprise was that the room they had available for me was 1 single bed (i was with my assistant). The reception staff was kind and offered me 2 options, 1 on the 4th floor which I didn't accept because by night I would come back with much baggage and very tired, so I accept down floor at the end of a corridor that had door so I thought I would rest But it wasn't because until too late the motor noise was heard from a bomb that didn't let me sleep. Finally ... But here it doesn't end, the next morning we had skin sticks, although the hotel looks old, it seemed very clean, but I think it lacks a good fumigation to kill the bitches like chinches or fleas that hit us. If it wasn't for that, I might return another time as the staff is amble, the hotel has parking and the price is good, as well as it is in a central area of the city.

We were hosted in September the hotel for what you see is a little old, but for the location it is worth it, the receptionist's attention very good, the room very clean, TV the channels don't look good, for our luck I touch us the Tremor, staff are very careful with us.

I don’t understand the bad reviews over this hotel. I’ve stayed at other hotels like Fiesta Americana Reforma and there is no comparison to Fontán. How can you call this hotel a dump? It’s cozy, very clean, comfortable with excellent customer service. I’ve been staying at this hotel for years (since 2014) and have seen nothing but improvement. I’ve tried other hotels and end up with an early check out for different issues and end up staying at my Fontán. Employees even know me by name.!The rooms look just like the pictures and are very comfortable. This is my home away from home with no doubt. Best location, best customer service, stunning views and I could go on and on. Can’t wait to go back!! Thank you Fontán for being so awesome. See you soon!
