This is a very new hotel which started their business in March 2023. Wanted to try on the first day of opening but due to some reason, it was delayed till now. It’s a first Marriott hotel in Melaka, so I do have very high expectations from them. As a Marriott platinum elite member, I’ve stayed in many hotel under Marriott organisation. Upon reaching the hotel with grab car, the staff came up to me immediately and lead me to the check in counter, the lobby are huge, and I can still smell that the hotel are still so new. Not much of the guest in the lobby area, it’s a Monday so I guess it’s normal. No suite room upgrade and no complimentary breakfast for a platinum member, although I was upgraded to a strait view room which I appreciated it. It can see a tiny bit of the sea. Apart from that, I guess the room size and amenity are the same. The check in staff told me that the suite room was full… I mean.. it’s a Monday.. and I literally still can see the suite room was available in the Bonvoy app. As I’ve mentioned, I’ve been to many hotel under Marriott organisation. I don’t always get upgraded to a suite room, but it was okay, I do understand all these are subjected to individual hotel policy and it’s all a good will. But I guess the staff could just tell me that the hotel are still new, the suite room are limited and it’s reserved for paying guest. I would totally understand that. But I don’t think it’s wise to you know, use a default replied as member like us, we check on the app. For me, if there’s no available suite room, I wouldn’t even ask for an upgrade. Secondly, there’s no complimentary breakfast, I paid RM70 for the 2 day breakfast. I’ve stayed in a few courtyard hotel, this was the first one that I’ve paid for breakfast, there might be other courtyard that don’t provide complimentary breakfast for guest with elite status, maybe I didn’t stay much enough to see it all. I’ve stayed with hotel that told me that their facility actually don’t offer complimentary breakfast for elite member, but they will just give it to me as a good will on top of my welcome gift. Just a little suggestion, like maybe let the counter staff to decide, if they could slip in some complimentary breakfast to guest with elite status or even guest that potentially come back again. I’m not complaining here, just some of my suggestions. The room are new, nice and spacious, very clean. Nice TV channel selection, view was great. Bed are firm to the level that I like, they offer pillow menu as well. Had very good sleep for the 2 night. Breakfast was very basic. There’s a very annoying flies flying around my table.. how did it come into the hotel, lol. Gym are small but there should be everything you need. The infinity pool are great! Very good view and very Instagrammable. Please visit the pool when you are here. The staff and friendly and nice. Would come back again to the hotel when I’m back in Melaka.

Saw many recent comments that described the negative parts, so I was a bit hesitant to book at first. But I went ahead because it was the cheapest (26-27 Nov 2021) and it’s not located among the busiest parts of town. I came with my wife and two children – aged 9 and 4. Through Agoda (listed in TripAdvisor, obviously pfftt), I got the Superior Triple Room which had with it: - 1 king bed - 1 single bed - 1 sofa large / long enough for an adult person to sleep on. - free buffet breakfast for 3 pax All these + taxes + surcharges + fees on the end-of-Nov weekend = RM 292. RM 292!!! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please refer to my pictures for the descriptions below; --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Room --------- - it was clean; towels, mattresses, pillows, etc. all smelled nice too - TV worked fine – some free TV channels + radios; two USB ports can be used, no HDMI ports - aircond was good; its remote worked fine as well - shower was great; it was easy to adjust heat and cold shower - water pressure was strong; flush and bidet were in good conditions - balcony was windy and the river view was calming; the grill’s height was higher than standard, I’m 175cm and its top was above my navel. So, I think it’s quite safe even for children to lounge around for a few seconds - nighttime was quiet; we went to bed around 11.45 pm and there was nothing (happening) downstairs - toiletries and basic tea-coffee sets were aplenty; got clothing iron sans the board Hotel -------- - indoor pool was just down the hall; we went into the pool room didn’t take a dip, the size was decent for an indoor pool - all three lifts were operational and fast; even with the traffic of weekend tourists, we never had to wait for more than a minute - check-in process took roughly 3 minutes; check-out was less than 15 seconds - all the staffs were pleasant and helpful, no matter where I came across them - the single-entrance basement parking was free of charge and bright enough even at night with security guards; there were hundreds of parking bays, so no fuss about fighting for one - I don’t think it’s THAT far from the town because you just literally have to cross the bridge and you’re there. I timed it; it took me a whole 8 minutes from Riviera’s basement parking to reach Dataran Pahlawan / Imperial Heritage. If that’s far, just book Hatten then and Bob’s your uncle =) Restaurant --------------- - buffet breakfast was more than enough for RM15/pax (not that I had to pay for my son coz he’s 4 years old); many of the typical Malaysian heavy breakfast choices were there, like nasi lemak, fried kuétiau, fried noodles, fried mihun, white bread, and porridge + boiled eggs, hotdogs, condiments, etc. - food counters were easily accessible; tables are minimal inside the restaurant but there were a lot more outside (for both covered and open-air areas) - cutlery was clean

First of all this property should not falls under ”Hotel” category. Motel would be a better one. 1. While on our way to the hotel, we called the property several times no pick up. 2. Checking in prosess was horrendous. No receptionist. We keep pressing the bell for at least 5-10 minutes. Finally one lady came down with unfriendly gestures. 3. We were told to accept two twin beds instead of one double we booked earlier. Insisted for a double but was told we couldn't choose, as we are under Expedia low price. We have to accept what is given. We want to reiterate here that we are paying guests and not staying for FREE, so should not be treated this way. Expedia needs to investigate on this please. We insisted that if we were not given double, we would like our money back. Finally she released the double room. 4. Room conditions: - bedsheet was dirty lots of black dark spots - pillow cases are with dark stains - pillow with blood stains - blanket with lots of hairs - headboard full of dusts - low water pressure - dirty towel - aircond swing function not working and emit noises - no sound proof - neighbour talking and laughing, phone ringing, vacuuming, can hear them loud and clear - got a room on the second floor, it's very tiring though to walk up two floors with luggages and no one of their staff helping 5. The main hotel door will be closed after like 3pm/4pm and the staircase to your room is not connected to the hotel. The side door is open 24 hours and no security guard. So anything you need/happens to you after the door close, it'll be at your own expense! Take the risk if you want to reside here. 6. Checking out wasn't smooth. Unfriendly, unhelpful staff.

To be honest you guys are forcing me to do write in here and mention clearly. We are your very loyalty guest and is not 1 or couple years but we stay at your hotel since your old previous hotel location until now. We booked your hotel everytime is by telephone and last time i check your hotel still doesn't selling thru online platform. Now i realised your management hotel decided to post and selling online for grab more guest because of competitors i think. I am glad to see your hotel already at Agoda, Booking.com, Traveloka, Tiket.com and many more so i booked go thru by online credited directly from my credit card. I also do not bring so much cash in Malaysia plus easier for me to reserve the room without any International phone call and also get cheaper. E-commerce platform has always promotion too, i have no reason book directly with you (senior lau aunties) again. Me and my wife when checked in, the staffs are unhappy when met us. They known us if we are their loyalty guest why suddenly book online. Then they told us why this time you booked by Agoda? Normally you directly booking. I said yes because i realised you have already posted at online selling platform so i booked online more comfortable for us. They claimed if you book go thru with us we will give you the best room. Me and my wife were decided ok la next time we book by phone call perhaps you are willing to give us the ”good spot”. Next visit, we book by phone call but we did not feel any differences. My wife said why you so stupid still wanna stay at this budget hotel? Have so many hotels surrounding are cheaper and better facilities too. I said, i knew but that is not the point we move to another hotel causes we talk about loyalty also all the considerations. Next again we were back booked by online and the staffs are really unhappy with us and we felt they are not willing to serve us. From this occur, we were very offended. Do you know although we booked online but still stay at your hotel. I am hospitality and hotelier too! Do i need mention the way you work out at e-commerce platform and how many percent you need to pay for each? I repeat again, i am hotelier and i am working at luxury hoteI. I knew your management is need to pay commission while guest book online such as Agoda, Booking.com etc. Because of just you wanna save the commission and you lost your loyalty guest? If you are not get ready and willing to pay commission, i please you take off your property from e-commerce. If you posting your property means you get ready and agreed to pay. Just simple for that. Next we won't stay at your hotel anymore. Me and my wife are decided stay another hotel. Don't think your hotel is the cheapest and nearest. Do i need to mention which hotel name is the nearest and also which hotel get cheaper and better facilities even a bit foot step to go Mahkota Medical but it doesn't mean very far. Tell you, The Straits Hotel and Suite (beside Novotel) the room rate is similar with yours.

I booked a 3 bedroom apartment on 21/June/2019 for 2 nights. I'm quite disappointed with the unit (1052) that had assigned to me. This unit was so much rundown compared to my last visit (Dec 2017). Management should look into the maintenance issue, the wall paper was tear off at the living hall and some of the bedroom, window in the toilet also damage. Wifi will disconnect most of the time. Cleanliness not so good too. Beside the apartment, the most disappointed me was the payment mode. Before my trip, i wrote an email to Jetty suite to confirm my payment, their staff replied me saying that they had received my payment and payment confirm completed (reason for me to double check with them is because I had experience with Jetty suite that system sent notice saying payment done but their staff still collect money from me during my check-in), so base on their email that my payment had done i did not prepare any extra cash but sad to say that things happened again this time.. the worst thing was upon check-in the staff informed me saying payment done so i no need to do any payment, but during my last day of stay early morning 9am i received a call from their office saying they check through their system and found out that they have not received my payment and request me to make payment upon my check-out. How can such thing happen??? And now i have to check with my bank to make sure there won't be any double charge for my booking. Will give a double thoughts in future for my booking on this apartments.

For those who want to save money, it's really okay. The necessary facilities are complete. Generally speaking, there are no requirements for such a cheap price. It's affordable and the food downstairs is very convenient.

The bed was clean and the balcony didn't know if the wind was blowing in, some garbage. The bath water is very small, the public toilet is opened, and the toilet water in the room becomes smaller. Chinese butler is very enthusiastic
