Stayed at Hotel beginning of October for 3 nights. Brilliant location if travelling from Airport by train (10 minutes & about 3 euros. Hotel attached to Maria Zambrano train station (don't go to Central!) 2 minute walk from escalators. Also convenient enough for Malaga old town. Staff were all really friendly & helpful. Room was good - large, well equipped, large comfy bed - air con a bit noisy. Small roof top pool with bar a great place to relax. Breakfast buffet brilliant - OK the scrambled eggs were a bit overdone, but even the toaster made good toast quickly (usually the bane of hotel breakfasts!) And a whole honey comb with real honey on offer. We really enjoyed our stay - wouldn't hesitate to go back if we were staying in Malaga.

The hotel is located on the outskirts of Malaga, surrounded by a highway network, about 10 minutes drive into the city center. Free parking at the door is sufficient. The hotel is an old castle shape, lobby, rooms, dining are not bad. The downside is that the room is poorly soundproofed and individual guests are a bit noisy.

The room space is ok and the front desk staff is very nice. There are machines that provide hot water and coffee for free. But over time, there are some coffee stains on the water outlet. The entrance is a bit strange. You have to take the elevator downstairs to check in and then the elevator goes upstairs to the room. The hotel is close to the street, and the noise is very loud if the windows are not closed, but you can't hear it if you close the windows. If you don't use housekeeping, you can exchange breakfast for free. Uber takes 20 euros from the airport to the hotel and takes 20 minutes It’s okay for a business trip.

PLUS In the center of the city, easy to reach (when booking, the hotel sends a good description of how to get there by public transport plus the address of some restaurants and shops). A recent building, very well maintained. The parking of the hotel is nearby (in 2023 per night 9 €). Bilingual receptionists (Spanish-English). The rooms are clean and tidy (in the bathroom a cup in glass, wrapped in plastic ...). A comfortable bed with a soft mattress, so your sleep is guaranteed. On the street side (also at the back?) there is a meter-high window with a balustrade. This gives a pleasant view. Across the street (see the photos of the hotel) there are some pubs and eateries, without music so just some pleasant chatting visitors. If you prefer peace and tranquillity, close the double window (consisting of two double-glazed doors). These four glass plates guarantee absolute silence. MINUS Only accommodation, no breakfast. But next to the supermarket is a pub (Luchi) that serves a great simple breakfast (in 2023 from 9 am). We stayed there twice, each time a very positive experience. I visited Malaga with my daughter and we loved this hotel. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Our room was very spacious, cleaned every day to a good standard. The beds were so comfy and the shower decent. The windows were well sound proofed from the busy road and covered with good quality blackout curtains. The breakfast was lovely with great choice. Only thing we would have liked is some complimentary water and tea/coffee making facilities in our room. There is a drinks/vending machine in the reception area though at a cost. The hotel is attached to a large shopping centre and close by to another and 10 minute walk to the main shopping street in the centre. The hotel is a little further away from the other attractions, maybe 20-25 minute walk. We used the city sightseeing bus which was a great way to get about, especially for getting up the hill to see the castle, which would not have been easy in the 35 degree heat. We used Ubers on a night which are really cheap and efficient. We also loved the Gaudi building over the road, which we could see from our window. Overall a really lovely stay

I love staying at Residencias Universitarias when travelling through Spain because they are typically very modern, well maintained and the rooms have a nice kitchenette. This one in particular was truly nice, with an impressive inner courtyard and modern styling. It seems to be quite recently built. You can take the Metro to the city centre or walk 25 minutes, as I did. Malaga is amazing, and this place made it even better!
