Concierge can get tickets to Real Madrid or bill fights. Amazing breakfast Complete service and very clean. Location es centric to all restaurants and metro stop and bus stops are right in front. Guest relations always smiling. Worth it ! !

The hotel rooms and the public areas are very lovely. The bed linens and towels are top quality. The housekeeping staff are kindly and meticulous in their attention to the guests. However, the swimming pool area is mostly unattractive. One reason I say this is that it has too much shade in the afternoon and it was cold in mid-September. I suppose that can’t be helped. But the area surrounding the pool really needs upgrading. The approach is gravelly and blocked by some large projection and it has an awkward approach. Parts of the hotel, where there is construction should be blocked off from view. The breakfast does offer Laurent Perrier champagne at breakfast but the food itself is average. Quite disappointing for a venerable old five-star hotel. I speak from our experience in many Spanish hotels, including the Paradores. However, the staff, as everywhere in the hotel, are kind and attentive. I feel mixed in my review. This hotel is really lovely but overpriced if you include breakfast, which costs about 26€ each! If you want to experience a fine old hotel, go for it. However, find breakfast elsewhere. To sum up: beautiful hotel with attentive service but a disappointing breakfast. But we really enjoyed the stay and we loved the Barrio de Salamanca. Thank you.

This hotel was a disappointment. Price/value is bad and the service is mediocre. We had two very expensive suites and when we arrived all the tools of a repairman were still laying on the floor in one of the bathrooms. Half an hour later he came and finished his work. The carpets are shabby and a general refurbishment would be necessary. The staff is very friendly but when it comes to the middle management the helpfulness decreases immediately. After our check-out they didn't not even want to let us enter the VIP Lounge anymore. Most probably they were afraid that we could order a drink for free after having paid a small fortune for two rooms which were far below 5 star level. That was very stingy indeed. We will never come again.

This is a beautiful hotel, in an excellent location. The neighbourhood is quiet and not touristy, with restaurants, cafes, parks, and shops nearby. The rooms are spacious, clean, and nicely decorated, though the beds and pillows were not very comfortable. That’s not much of a problem though. I would stay here again and again!

From the outside it looks great. You get a warm welcome in the entrance, the rooms are very nice, room and cleaning service also very good. Super nice gym and spa too, (spa is not included cost around 50 euro each). The big disappointment is definitely the outdoor restaurant and pool area. This place needs some love and renovation. The pool is located in-between the houses so the sun hits the pool area around 1pm. The restaurant is not a cozy place for lunch, and it also closes at 8pm. I believe they need to renovate this whole area to create a better personal vibe and live up to a 5 star rate. Going to Madrid you want to relax by a nice lounge pool area and also have a drink outside late at night. I can imagine this place being 5 star 10 years ago but nowadays there’s much other places in Madrid I would pick. So to summarize, going to Madrid for some sun and relax, I wouldn’t choose this place.

Very good hotel in the Recoletos neighbourhood of Madrid. The room (no. 423), although on the small side was very comfortable and had an air of old time luxury. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The neighbourhood around the hotel has many restaurants and shops, including some upscale ones, and many Madrilenian attractions are within walking distance.

My wife and I, and my brother-in-law (celebrating his retirement), stayed at the hotel in late December-early January, following a stay in July with other family members. The highlight of our recent stay was the Christmas Eve dinner, which was superb in terms of quality of food and service. We have attended other such nice events in our lives, but this was the best! As usual, the Front Desk staff and housekeeping staff were very attentive to our needs. We plan to return there again when we travel to Madrid!
