Eric Vökel Boutique Apartments - Atocha Suites

Overall, the price is very high, and the trip is close to the Atocha train station, but it is very tiring to push the suitcase. There are 2 supermarkets near the hotel. It is convenient to buy daily necessities, and it is also near to Lichi Park . You have to clean the room by yourself. The room is quite large. On the last day, you must pay attention to LOCKER who checked out your luggage. Otherwise, it will be used up by others and there will be no place to send it. . . . .

We stayed for a week and really enjoyed it. Exceptionally clean, really friendly and attentive staff, good atmosphere in the downstairs bar area and on the roof bar, good breakfast and very comfy, well equipped room. Wasn’t too sure initially about the area but we soon felt very comfortable and found some great bars and restaurants locally off the tourist trail. Great location for walking to the centre, La Latina, El Rastro, the park (El Retiro), the art galleries and metro/train connections. Loved Madrid.

Good welcome. Hotel very close to the Prado and Reina Sofia museums, Chrystal Palace park and Atocha station. On the other hand, located on major car traffic arteries, the room has two windows to reduce noise. For a 4 *, I found that the room lacked the kettle, tea and coffee tray, just a small bottle of water. By cons pushed heating, I had 26 degrees C in the room, too hot! The bathroom has a jacuzzi bath but not enough soap, gel etc. The single room does not offer a double bed but a bed for 1 person. At breakfast I found the choice ok but also not exceptional, the quality is that of supermarkets, except for the spinach tortilla. For tea fans, in AC chains it's often Dilmah. Convenience stores around the hotel for water and other purchases, it's practical. Overall, the stay was good but nothing more, not really comfortable. Carlton by Marriott, it's a dream but it's another dream on the spot. It lacks charm and good fengshui. I will not come back.

To me it was really about the location. Within 3 block walk of Atocha Train Station which has direct trains to Madrid Airport as well as many cities and towns around Spain. The hotel itself was clean with modern amenities. But nothing particularly special - just functional. The main asset was location to train. In addition it was an easy walk within 1 mile or so of many restaurants as well as Prado, Reina Sofia and Retiro.

The service at this hotel was excellent. Room was clean and confortable. We needed a crib for our daughter and they brought one to our room within ten minutes of check in. We didn’t have time for breakfast in the morning but it looked delicious. Would stay here again!

I booked this property mostly due to the access to the pool. Much to my dismay on check-in, I was told that the pool only opened from June 1 - Sept 30. This wasn't stated on the 3rd party site. The mattress was rock hard! For the first time in my life I had to place a pillow under my hips in the middle of my first night as the surface was too painful. Aside from that, the rooms are large, clean and the hotel is well-maintained. The fitness room was also well-appointed. The hotel is located in a nice, quiet neighborhood, mostly residential.
