Lovely hotel in a great spot, the room was spotlessly clean and the facilities were very good. A beautifully comfortable bed with a nice view from the window (seat). The staff were top notch & very helpful and the breakfast was excellent. I would highly recommend a visit.

I had an enjoyable, and comfortable three night stay at The Bath Hotel, Lynmouth, in the tastefully decorated Artist Suite. I could step out on to a wee patio where I had a great view of both the harbour and the quaint little shopping street and could sit out there with my morning coffee. The bed was super comfortable, and the bath was designed to relax in! The choices for breakfast was amazing! I had French toast with berry compote and creme fraiche, highly recommend! The staff were just lovely, from the assistant manager to the waiter. It is right in the hub of Lynmouth, so everything is easy to walk to. If I ever go back, I will definitely go there again.

Having eaten here before we decided to book a stay for a special occasion. The room we booked had a fabulous view of the coast, although windows don't open fully for safety. Dinner was excellent, steak for us both and the setting in the restaurant was contemporary and relaxing. Our main observation was that service was slow, with staff really not hitting the high standards the hotel should be reaching, not reflecting the prices charged. Management were receptive to the feedback, but given some previous comments, I feel training needs to be implemented as a matter of urgency. Breakfast was again of a really high standard with great quality produce and a range of options that wasn't overwhelming. We'd happily return, with hope the improvements promised have been pit in place. It's worth noting as others have said, parking is very limited on site. So do your homework before arrival. If the Lynmouth Sea Shanty Crew are singing at the Ancient Mariner, then stay for a drink, they're great fun!

Uncertain what to expect. Room was acceptable, it was described as quirky and certainly was. The hospitality, the quality of dinner and breakfast far exceeded our expectations. The attention by Sharon in Ancient Mariners Restaurant was exceptional, to a standard one rarely enjoys these days. We intend to visit again if only for the dining experience, and we will book a suite, especially as it comes with complimentary on site parking. Sadly the rest of the town is very tired, and everyone seems to have multiple dogs.

My partner and I planned a last minute night away to relax before Xmas. The hotel is lovely. Very ‘oldy worldly’ and quirky. The rooms each have their own theme and names, we stayed in the fo’c’sle. The hotel has an overall nautical theme and has plenty of character. Room was very clean and comfortable. Had everything we needed. Staff very friendly and attentive. We had a meal in the ancient mariner. Very nice food. Breakfast included in the room price. We had breakfast in the galley which was a really pleasant environment. Again, staff friendly and keen to help. Breakfast was fantastic. Great continental selection and the hot food was also lovely. Would definitely come back, already looking to return next March! thank you bath hotel :)

Very quiet due to time of year. We were made very welcome by the staff and the service was excellent. We ate in the hotel on the first night of the stay and the food was very good. Great location for coast path walks. The hotel has a treatment room and my partner was able to arrange a massage all managed by the hotel. I would certainly revisit.

This really is a tale of two hotels - on one hand lovely staff and great food but what a strange experience! We booked a mid week special two night stay via Travel Zoo but we certainly didn't have the stay we were expecting! Sharp intake of breath as we entered as it was absolutely freezing and our room (Botanist) whilst charming was practically sub zero and I would think hadn't been used for a while. (To put this into context - my husband is a mountaineer and ice climber and we are both pretty hardy.... often going to Dartmoor in our campervan during winter etc. etc. !) The hotel's lounge was closed - apparently only open on Friday and Saturday. The hotel restaurant was closed for dinner...... although our offer included dinner in the restaurant. That said, breakfast was served in the restaurant and it was excellent. We made our way to the Ancient Mariner pub which is reached through the galley restaurant and is part of the hotel although separate (if that makes sense!) and enjoyed the evening playing Scrabble next to a huge woodburner. Nice atmosphere, delicious wine included in our offer and we ate off the pub menu as the hotel restaurant was closed.... despite being open for breakfast the next day. The whole experience was pretty bizarre - it was essentially a pub with bedrooms next door rather than a hotel. We decided to leave the next day and explained our issues - the staff were very apologetic and authorised a 50% refund which we appreciated. Hotel bookings for Christmas and New Year are very good apparently so I would hope that all the hotel's facilities are available to guests. I don't know if I would recommend the Bath Hotel as it was such a mish mash and really odd... that said it had some excellent points such as the food and staff.... a conundrum indeed!
