4 Star Hotels in Lynchburg

First, there’s a very nice view. The staff was friendly and accommodating and I was seated without a reservation. My server was Mason and he definitely made a difference. He and the bartender conjured up a lemony mocktail, as I requested, that was perfect. Then I had the stuffed trout, chock full of mushrooms and broccoli. Fresh and done to perfection. Side of gnocchi. All around, 5 stars. I had to run and Mason handled the check in no time.

So we booked another night and again we enjoyed our stay and their pool is open and so clean?!!! We will stay here the next time we come

The room was nice the bed was really really comfortable, I had some of the best rest I have had in a long time.

Beautifully designed and decorated--both our room and the common areas. Doesn't look institutional. Property is a block away from the main highway which makes it easily accessible, but also quiet. Front desk clerks were very friendly, helpful and kind. Our room thermostat went a bit rogue; it was difficult to control. However, everything else about our room was very comfortable and we slept well. Only disappointment--physical fitness room was closed (presumably due to COVID) and the ”Bistro” bar/snack/lounge area was also closed (front desk clerk said due to ”not enough business”). I do understand that the management has to make decisions which will enable the hotel to be profitable. I don't fault them for that. Nonetheless, those decisions resulted in our inability to fully enjoy this lovely place. Hopefully, others who stay here in the future will get a more complete experience. One last caveat--this property has no swimming pool or jacuzzi, if that matters to you.

We have stayed at each of the Marriotts in Lynchburg at one point or another and were excited to give the relatively new Residence Inn a try. We found this to be our favorite Marriott in Lynchburg and would return here for future trips to the area. Rachel at the front desk was very friendly and welcoming from the moment we checked in. The complimentary breakfast was well organized and frequently attended to as well. The room featured a newer Residence design that I consistently find quite comfortable, an open floor plan that still has defined areas and plenty of space. The room was very clean and in good shape, though starting to show some minor signs of wear. The bathroom design was the only thing that was a bit odd about the room, as the half-glass design of the shower created a mess no matter the water pressure. Location wise, the Residence is centrally located and only 5-10 minutes from Liberty depending on what part of campus you are visiting. Between the River Ridge Mall complex being next door and Wards Rd. one traffic light away, we had quick access to anything we needed. Overall, we had a positive experience and would keep the Residence in mind for our future trips to Lynchburg.

We would like to share a story about how a staff member at this Hilton Garden Inn went above and beyond. My husband left his computer in the room and we did not realize this until we got home to Ohio. He contacted the hotel and spoke with the evening General Manager. Unfortunately he did not get her name. When her evening shift ended, she took the time to go up to the room to look for his computer. She found it and called us promptly to assure us that it was there. She could have waited until the next day but she did not. She then made arrangements to ship it to us and it arrived a few days later. In addition, the hotel staff were polite, the room was spotless and even though we did not have an opportunity to get the breakfast, I could tell it was great when we went to grab the free coffee in the morning. Also want to point out that this hotel is in a great location, close to everything. We were in town for a wedding but if we are ever in this area, we will make sure we stay here again. I was traveling through Virginia en route to Charlotte, North Carolina; when I felt so tired, I didn't think it safe to drive. I stopped in Lynchburg and decided to stay overnight at Homewood Suites. My other stays at Homewood have been enjoyable, and I've never been disappointed. I was concerned about staying in a hotel during the pandemic, but after speaking with the receptionist (who was shielded and adequately distanced from me), she assured me there were new cleaning/disinfecting protocols in place and everything possible was being done to ensure the safety of the hotel's guests and staff. The hotel is new, in excellent condition and very clean. The staff was very friendly and they welcomed my Australian Shepherd! Enough time has passed that I can safely state it was a safe visit, as I did not come down with COVID19. I greatly appreciate Hilton/Homewood for going the extra mile to ensure my safety. Job well done!
