Hotels in Lubeck

Me and my husband stayed four nights in this hotel for our summer holiday in Germany in 2020. Nb not 2022. Perfect location close to the Altstadt and the river in Lubeck. Because of the corona the pool and sauna was closed. We thought that any 5 star hotel should have a gym but this hotel had not. We went to the High 5 gym near by. But we certainly recommend the High5 gym, and the reception should also recommend a gym when guests ask for it. Breakfast had a variety of offers. We spent a few mornings in the outside cafeteria on the lawn outside the hotel in the nice sun. The cleanliness was good and the staff was polite. But some of the receptionists seemed a bit more formal or reserved than we are used to from Scandinavia. A little smile or two can do a lot! We would like to come back for The Christmas marked.

This hotel is located in the heart of Lübeck's historic Old Town district, close to the Lübeck Congress Hall. Hotel Alter Speicher offers classically furnished rooms. Interiors at Hotel Alter Speicher are furnished with rich materials such as granite, marble, solid wood and brass. Every room includes cable TV and a private bathroom. A full buffet breakfast is served each morning at the Alter Speicher Lübeck.

Stayed for one night on the way from Denmark to southern Germany. Check in Check in very fairly swift and the person behind the reception was friendly. Check out was easy and quick as well. Rooms The rooms look very dated and would need to be freshen up. They very much gave late 90’s early 00’s vibes. Something else to note was that we booked two room in different categories, yet they were next to each other and exactly the same, despite one being the superior room. Other than rather the room was fairly pleasant with plenty of seating and a decently comfortable bed. HOWEVER, after about an hour in the room (the extractor fan in the bathroom had been running) it started smelling of urine in the bathroom, very, very badly. We waited some time in the hope it would go away but it didn’t. Eventually we went back down to the reception to ask what could be done and they gave us a new room immediately. They said they knew that some rooms had this issue (our room was 1109 so make sure to avoid that one). If they know, why do they not fix it before they put guests into the room? (Having just read some of the trip advisor reviews shows that this problem has been an issue since 2019 AT LEAST, how can that not be fixed?) 
One the one hand we were obviously glad we could change rooms so quickly, on the other hand we we’re tired and had already unpacked so changing rooms after a long day isn’t my idea of fun. The new room also had a spider crawling up the wall…. Garage Garage was big with enough decently sized spaces. Wifi Wifi was quite sketchy. Connection wasn’t stable in the first room we stayed at and the upload speed in the second room was quite slow, but signal was more stable. Stayed only because it was on the way, wouldn’t necessarily stay again.

Just as you feel when you see this small fine lock. The trip alone is unusual: this little wood is actually on the edge of a business area - which you quickly forget when you relax without a parking search (there is free and sufficient in the castle courtyard) comes to another world. You can't see yourself all the small details that you meet on your way to and in the hotel itself: here a sleeping castle ghost under a small blocked staircase, there books, as decorative stack snored on the stairs, here are a few funny talks that bring you to spark immediately - and above all: Many of the little things you can't see at all at once but gradually discovered... We had the Suite ”Heaven on Earth” (from 2.8. to 5.8. 21) under the roof and like that you feel there too: place without end, super cozy and tastefully furnished, you look almost directly into the sky (although he is of course only painted - and quite skillful - in the roof area. The bed was very comfortable, the Pantry had everything you could wish, many small things in the huge room that you can't find at all in other hotels. The bathroom is a dream, AND: There is a small balcony, windprotected with a view of everything. The ”castel master” understands being everywhere at the same time and answering all questions to one... and not forget: the breakfast buffet: All that the heart wants - and you realize that here too is going to work with heart blood. We will come back in any case. For: I want to be princess there now!!!

Three of us booked a room for 3. It was clean and updated. It contained a seperate twin bed room, one bed, large window, closet space, shelving and night stand. The main room contained a desk, stool, chair and king bed. There was a water closet with toilet and sink. There was a seperate room for the shower and sink. Plenty of room for three of us. I think there was a fridge too. The staff was super friendly. Breakfast was outstanding. We booked only the day before, because our reserved airbnb was inadequate. We stayed only one night. Room had no view to speak of, but that was of no consequence to us. We had a short walk to the train station.

This hotel has a great location. The position and evaluation are very good, and the staff are very helpful. When I had a small problem, they quickly solved it and made sure I was completely satisfied.

To entire hotel friendly staff. Everything was clean and tidy, so a positive impression as soon as you entered. Despite the room facing the street, no noise penetrated. Good beds, but these are apart. Nice big shower, everything neat and clean. The staff at the bar were in a good mood even late at night. The breakfast was good, coffee can be selected from two machines. Tasty, small rolls and sufficient toppings are available. Only with the scrambled eggs there is room for improvement. We were pleasantly surprised by the hotel, especially since the city center is within easy walking distance.
