Le Bel Air Resort Luang Prabang

Luang Prabang|0.67km from That Chomsi Stupa
When our driver pulled up to the hotel by a rickety bridge over the river, we were a bit nervous as the hotel looks tiny from the outside. What we thought was the hotel was actually the lobby and the hotel is actually quite large and sprawling with buildings and bungalows scattered next to the river. The hotel has a lovely infinity pool by the river with a lounge chairs, beach towels and an affordable pool bar with snacks for sale. The rooms were spacious with large balconies. The toilet was by the front door so you had to exit the WC walk around the corner to the bathroom to wash your hands - sort of a weird set up, but did help in the morning for 2 people to get ready. This was the only hotel we stayed in with dual sinks and a long vanity so excellent for 2 travelers and a big plus! The shower was a walk in so east access. The hotel also has a restaurant where breakfast (included) is served in the morning. Unfortunately it was a buffet with limited options and the food that was supposed to be hot was always cold and unappetizing. The hotel uses tiny candles to try to keep the food warm but this method does not work at all. The hotel no longer has a shuttle to town which is a negative as you need to walk across a scary rickety bridge to get to town. The hotel does not have a gym which is a requirement, in my opinion, if you want to be a 5 star resort. My only other comment to management is to find a few better English speaking employees as we had difficulty communicating with staff. Yes we know we are in Laos and should learn to speak their language but I feel when you cater to tourists you need a few people in each area to speak the universal language for business. We did enjoy our stay and can recommend this hotel to others.

We really enjoyed the extended period of stay here. Spacious room with comfortable bed with the balcony. Functioning TV and fridge. The breakfast choice is amazing and each are cooked fresh. The owner and the staff are always friendly and accommodating. Daily room cleaning. A great little hotel to relax.

I don’t usually write reviews and was very skeptical about this hostel when I booked it since it’s so low cost (I paid USD $15 for 3 nights including taxes). I took a chance on it due to all the prior/raving reviews... so here I am writing one in case you have the same doubt! This is a relatively newly opened hostel and on my arrival, Mr Lai Lee put me in a separate room so I can have some privacy to myself. This is such a nice gesture (tho it’s low travel season in Laos), but he didn’t have to do that... the bed and linens are clean and they assured me there will be no cockroaches as I’m terrified of them lol... I saw none during my entire stay here and they kept the common areas very clean at all times. In the morning, they serve you either western style omelette or Lao noodle soup for breakfast which really makes you think if they charged enough for my hotel stay! This hostel is located near the Phou Si Mountain and everything you need in LP. The local restaurant right across the road is excellent too. In mornings I usually chat with Mr Dao and he shared his experience as a novice monk and some local insights with me... it’s really an experience that I would pay triple or more to get and my stay here has been an awesome one. Hope you will too! :)

Facilities: The room is consistent with the pictures I saw when booking. When I checked in, I felt that the room was indeed a bit small. There was no hair dryer or kettle in the room. The quality of disposable supplies was not good. The bathroom sink leaked. There was air conditioning and The TV was never turned on. Hygiene: If the full score is 100 points, it can be scored 70 points. Environment: Rang Prabang is not big in general. The location of this store is very good. The breakfast restaurant is facing the Mekong River. It is a river view restaurant. Diagonally opposite the main entrance of the hotel is Mount Phusi. It should be said that the location is quite good. Service: The service is okay. The phone cards bought at the front desk are more expensive than outside. When exchanging money, the exchange rate is also worse than on the street.

We originally booked for 3 nights, but only ended up staying for 1. I'll start with the positives - the location is very convenient in terms of centralisation and the staff are in general kind. Now for the bad. When we arrived, it took a little while for someone who could understand English to check us in, and even then he took a while with our passports and finding our booking. We were originally told that we would be getting 2 beds, as we had requested online, but then we were shown to a room with only one large bed and told there were no other rooms available. The room was very dark and the bedsheets were off white and partially stained. Then we went into the bathroom and let them know that there were hairs everywhere and asked them to clean it. Unfortunately, their version of ”cleaning” it was to take the toilet squirter and just spray everything down, leaving the bathroom soaked. So in order to not get my feet wet, or sit on a wet toilet seat, I had to take a towel myself and wipe everything down. The towel went black instantly. It was quite a hot evening and muggy room with mosquitoes, so it would have been nice to turn either the fan or the aircon on, however I refused to once I saw the immense dust build up. Like I said, the staff were kind, so we kindly forfeited our second and third nights' stay and went elsewhere, letting them know it just wasn't clean enough for us. It's disappointing, because my father and brother had a nice enough stay here 3 years ago, I just think that the new staff to this hotel just don't care as much in terms of keeping it clean. I appreciate them for putting us up nonetheless, I just hope they come to understand that more effort and attentiveness needs to be put in in order for them to have more success. I genuinely wish them well in the future and hope this improves.

I stayed here for one night as part of a larger Lao road trip. Having been constructed in 1937 during the French Colonial period, the building (house number 323), is a UNESCO-protected heritage site. Beautiful local hardwood is used throughout the structure and adds a level of charm that many other accommodations lack. The room was clean, large, well-appointed, and comfortable. The hot water, refrigerator, air-conditioning, and wi-fi worked well. The bedding, linen, pillows, towels, etc. were in good condition. I paid $27 USD per night on hotels.com, apparently, the walk-in rate for this same period is $26 USD per night. This is a fair price for this style of budget accommodation. I would stay here again for sure.

There are 11 categories of breakfast staples, such as milk mash, juice 🍹, coffee ☕️, tea 🍵 hot and cold, and then with special fruit, fresh ingredients, click to do now. The boss is a small Vietnamese brother. The service is warm and patient, and the hotel accommodation is very special. Adjacent to the Grand Palace, you can visit the night market after a hundred meters, back to the Puxi Mountain, and go 500 meters to the right to the Mekong River. Figure 3 is the boss
