to go to universal studios hollywood I chose this hotel. The only amenities were bar soap for hand washing. Is there a microwave in the common space? Free coffee and tea service during morning hours There were some good things that are unique to motels. It's a nearly straight road that takes less than 15 minutes to walk from the station.

The first room we got was quite dirty and had coffee stains on the bedside table and a lot of hair from the previous stay on the floor of the bathroom. We got an immediate room change and the stay was great overall.

On my first night in this hotel, I was woken up at around 7 in the morning by two women having an extremely loud conversation in the room next to mine – even though I always sleep with earplugs on. I called the front desk and told them that two guests were being loud and that I couldn’t sleep because of it. The woman who answered my call said she’d send someone to tell them to keep it down. Nothing changed so I called back a while later and she said that the man she sent told her that he couldn’t hear anything unless he put his ear up to the door. I said that was insane because I could clearly hear the conversation from my bed and even more so when I slightly opened the door; there is just no way that anyone walking in the hallway wouldn’t have heard it. She remained quiet and I added “do you want me to take a video in the hallway?” just to prove that I was not lying and that what she said didn’t make any sense. I really don’t appreciate being gaslit by the hotel I’m staying in; I paid good money to be here and this employee is literally telling me that what I know to be true is somehow not. Their job should be to make sure I’m having a comfortable stay, not to deny reality! Anyway, she said she didn’t want me to take a video and told me that she’d go up herself along with the man she sent originally. A few minutes later, I heard knocking on a door, and the guests did lower their voices after that. I was able to go back to sleep until my phone rang a few minutes later. It was this same woman from the hotel telling me she told them to keep it down but that they weren’t fighting, they were just having a normal conversation. Ok? First of all, I never said they were fighting, I said they were being loud. Second, what does it matter if they were fighting or not? You can have a loud conversation or an argument at a reasonable volume, the point is that they should not be speaking so loudly. Third, they had already been told to lower their voices AND THEY DID, which enabled me to go back to sleep – so why are you waking me up with a phone call? I just saw this as more gaslighting, another opportunity to tell me that what she believed to be my version of the events wasn’t true – even though I clearly said “two guests are being loud” and never “two guests are fighting.” Needless to say, I will not be staying here again! I will say this, though: Milenia from the front desk was very friendly and helpful. I don’t remember the name of the employee that handled my call that day, but I interacted with Milenia when I checked in and when I checked out, and she was great. Edit: It has now been a week since I was there and I have not gotten my deposit back. This place truly cannot be any worse.

Could easily be zero stars. Original room was 93 degrees upon check in, the air conditioning unit was poor by anyone's standard, we asked to switch rooms. They did not offer to come get our bags, or move us to a new room so we brought our luggage back down to the front desk. We were then given a second room. Again, no offer made to accompany us and see if the new room was up to standards. This room was 92 degrees upon entry. After a second phone call, they sent up staff to change the filters on the AC unit. That team told us the AC was functioning well and blowing cold air (it was blowing cold air as if you had a few ice cubes in your mouth and blew on my neck) and to use the blackout curtains (after a sort of condescending explanation of what blackout curtains do) and give it some time for the AC to work. We went out to dinner for about two hours and came back to a nice cool 87 degree room. We once again took our belongings back downstairs. We were then told by the front desk staff that since we booked a room with a king size bed all of those rooms faced the sun and would all have similar problems (why would that be an acceptable answer?) and they could do nothing more for us since they accommodated us once already. I had no idea their idea of accommodating someone was to put them in a room with the same problem that the previous room had but what do I know, I am not in the hospitality industry. We were then told that the hotel was completely booked so no further ”accommodations” could be made. We asked for a refund and this is the first time they reacted with some conviction, they were happy to let us leave. Must be nice to be able to turn away business. At no time were there any apologies, any remorse, just matter-of-factly let us leave. My wife and I don't argue or yell, we never feel its worth it, but we left angry and hotel-less on a Saturday night in Los Angeles. We scrambled to find a new hotel but the damage was done, they took our entire Saturday away from us, which no refund could ever compensate for, they temporarily took our joy to be in town on our own as we are parents and do not get much time away. We did take our business elsewhere, to a Hilton, they seem to understand that to relax you need a room that is slightly cooler than a sauna. We were able to salvage the remaining days of our trip. Also the elevators at the Freehand are old (charming?) and constantly in use because of the rooftop bar so it took us waiting for a few packed elevators to get up and down to the hot AF rooms which probably added to our level of frustration. But it was mostly the Sahara like environment of the hot room. Did I mention the rooms were hot? Also maybe use a free hand to open a book on what hospitality looks like, I think your staff may be surprised. (see what I did there?)

Entrance and lobby is quite nice and modern, the rooms are exactly the opposite. Although is does the job after a long travelday, the room was very outdated. Bed was pretty good I must say. Also the fire alarm sounded twice in the middle of the night. The gave us complementary breakfast as a compensation but only after a making a complaint. Location is pretty good. Near aiport and near Rental cars (10 min walk) The fitness room is ok. Outdated, but still does the job.

Overall the stay was pretty disappointing. This is the oldest Hilton I’ve stayed in. It’s terribly outdated and in much need of a renovation. The AC was sweating and leaking on the carpet throughout the night. The shower handle was broken and had to be repaired before we could use it. The breakfast was about the same as Fairfield’s breakfast just down the street and theirs is free. Not worth the extra money if you’re looking for comfort next to the airport. Honestly the Fairfield was much better for less money.

Sp being a few days in LA after traveling for a couple weeks and leaving from LAX. Very nice hotel for our purposes.Chose it because we had an early flight and it was close to the rental car return. The affordable cost wa probably because parking was $75 a day valet with the option to come and go as uou please or self park in a garage down the street for $25 each time you exit. I had booked quickly and didn’t see that so I was surprised. Staff all over the hotel were so nice. The first night our ac wasn’t working but we were too tired to deal with it until morning. Since we were staying another night they moved us, gave us free valet for the day (We used the self park option and already used a credit card so didn’t want to ask about that) and free breakfasts and access to the lounge with drinks and snacks 24 hrs. They were so accommodating. Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable I’d stay there again.

We're going through a horrific heat wave here in California, and I don't have an AC in my apartment. Because of Covid 19, many public places, such as our public library, are closed; places where people can cool off from this heat. I'm a teacher working from home and it's hard enough sitting in front of a computer all day; I don't need the heat to aggravate the situation more, but aggravate it did. Because I needed a cool place where I could work, I decided to book two nights at this motel. I chose this particular one because it's fairly close to my apartment and the price was ”reasonable.” All I needed was a clean room, a working AC and reliable Wifi. I only got one of three from my wish list. The room was disgustingly dirty: spider webs in the bathroom, dirt and grime underneath the vanity, filthy chairs, filth everywhere. I wasn't able to shower because the shower head wasn't working. I only got running water from the tub faucet, and I wasn't about to sit in that tub. The wifi worked fine when I first checked in and during most of the day the second day, but then it went dead. There was no way I was able to connect using their wifi so I ended up using my hot spot for my first class, and then I came right back home where I at least have running water, reliable wifi, and a clean place to sleep. The AC worked fine, but it's too bad that this place is so rundown. The motel usually serves breakfast, whatever it is they serve, but because of the state regulations due to the pandemic we're going through, breakfast, ice and the pool were unavailable. I'm was very happy to burn rubber and come back home, albeit to a very hot apartment. Two nights was more than enough.

Outstanding
YYC008Here's why we gave the experience 3 stars; First of all, when we booked the hotel, neither Trip.com nor The Aster, Los Angeles, mentioned anything about the rooftop being closed on the dates we booked. On May 13 and May 14, we stayed in room 3 0 6. The hotel pictures showed and bragged about having a rooftop and plenty of pics of people there, and nowhere was revealed anywhere on their website or Trip.com that would not be available on those dates. When we reached out to Trip.com, they pretty much said that the rooftop amenities weren't listed as part of our package. Really Trip.com? You have to list the rooftop as the amenity... Got it. That was so lame a response. Everyone knows people book due to the pictures, and this was a seriously lame response from the Trip.com customer support personnel. We decided to save our opinion for this review. The Aster had nice people, but it's hard to believe the availability missing on their website is a detail they would miss. Their hotel has impeccable detail and design. One can only surmise they conveniently left out the information because people would obviously not book there and go somewhere else. I told the front receptionist this as we were checking in. She mentioned, well, it said it on *******. But we didn't book through *******, we booked through Trip.com. And those specific details were not evident. After July 1st the Government is getting stricter on transparency with hotels having to mention things so we missed this window, but we're happy to hold hotels like The Aster accountable:-) Also, on Wednesday, we checked out, and they had a fire alarm drill test that lasted about 10 minutes. They forgot to mention another minor ”inconvenience” when we booked on their website. It was at 10 am. It wasn't so bad, but to state the obvious, they left out the ability for customers to decide by not making that information transparent during the booking process. It's not like the fire department or tech people didn't schedule that in advance. 1. If you book through Trip.com, please make sure you specify, call their customer support, and get it in writing. The clickbait and pictures seem shady and sketchy and reflect a lack of credibility in the process. 2. Trip.com asked which room we wanted to be in. When we picked the room, we picked the city-view balcony. But we got put in the poolside view instead. It wasn't bad, but that was missing in the booking details that Trip.com sent to The Aster. My fiance ended up being okay with the poolside view, but it should have been in the booking details via Trip.com. So please, please make sure you watch this if you book through them and call the hotel in advance. Lastly, the decor, valet, and, in general, the service people were very nice and thoughtful. We would give them 5 stars.

TTemuujinI recently had the opportunity to stay at the Courtyard by Marriott Los Angeles LAX/Hawthorne for a business trip, and I must say, it was a rather pleasant experience overall. First and foremost, the hotel's proximity to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is a major advantage. It's a mere 10-minute drive away, which made it incredibly convenient for someone like me who had to catch an early morning flight. The hotel also provides a free shuttle service to and from the airport, which was a nice touch. The check-in process was efficient, and the staff at the front desk were courteous and welcoming. The lobby area is clean, modern, and well-designed, creating a favorable first impression. I stayed in a standard room, and it was clean and well-maintained. The bed was comfortable, and I appreciated the extra pillows provided. The room had a decent view and was adequately spacious for a solo traveler. The bathroom was also clean and stocked with the necessary amenities. One of the highlights of my stay was the on-site restaurant, The Bistro. The food was surprisingly good, and they offered a variety of options for breakfast and dinner. The staff at the restaurant were attentive and provided excellent service. However, I found the prices a bit on the higher side. The fitness center was well-equipped, and I was able to maintain my workout routine during my stay. The hotel also has a small outdoor pool, although I didn't have the chance to use it during my stay. The only downside to my experience was the noise level in the hallways and adjacent rooms. Thin walls seemed to allow sound to carry, which made it a bit difficult to sleep when there were noisy neighbors. Additionally, the Wi-Fi connection was a bit slow at times, which could be frustrating if you're trying to get work done. Overall, the Courtyard by Marriott Los Angeles LAX/Hawthorne is a solid choice for travelers looking for convenience near the airport. The friendly staff, clean rooms, and excellent dining options make it a comfortable place to stay. However, improvements in soundproofing and Wi-Fi speed would enhance the overall experience.

가난한대학생나그네To be honest, I was nervous because there weren't many Korean reviews, but the price was so reasonable that I made a reservation. 70,000 won for 3 days and 2 nights is too cheap for a traveler without money haha.. Here is an honest review for Koreans! (Advantages) 1. Good price I made a reservation for about 36,000 won per night. About a month before departure I made a reservation through Trip.com, and when I checked on *******, the price was similar, but Trip.com was slightly cheaper due to the airline ticket-linked promotion. It was cheaper than a Korean motel (even though it was a shared room...) and there was no additional cost at all that I was worried about. It ends with the amount you reserved! It's so true. However, there is no additional charge if you bring your own lock/towel. Because I need it If you ask at the counter, they will probably lend you towels for $2 each. If you want to stay at Loomis Hostel, a padlocked towel is a must!!! 2. Excellent cleanliness Because of the price, I almost wanted to give up on cleanliness. The condition of the bed and bedding were all flawless. To be honest, I thought it would be a bit dirty, but it wasn't like that at all. Bathrooms are also really important, but there are so many bathrooms. There is no need to wait and the many restrooms are kept clean. I really liked it. I think the host is probably a bit sensitive to cleanliness. A cleaning person comes every morning and cleans each and every bathroom. They clean it.. For a hostel in this price range, the cleanliness is really good. It's great! 3. Convenience of transportation I'm a student traveler with no money, so I never call Uber wherever I go. I used public transportation. Bus stop (where you can go to Lax) There is one within 3-5 minutes. There is a subway station and a bus stop within a 15-minute walk (you can go to Hollywood), and the road is large and wide, so it's not dangerous and I think it's a great location to use public transportation. I travel around LA using buses and subways, and the cost of travel is less than $20 :) The map is so good that it's easy to find. I took a bus from LA Airport to the hostel, which took a little over an hour. 4. Other advantages - You can make foreign friends (As an extreme introvert, it was my first time traveling alone, so I felt a bit lonely, but I had one good friend who actively talked to me. There is a meeting place near the front desk and kitchen. If you feel lonely, go and join in the conversation. People from various cultures come together to create good synergy.) - Breakfast provided!! To poor me lol.. a ray of light… It makes no sense to even provide breakfast at this price.. There are 4 slices of bread per person, coffee, pancakes (I can't see anyone making them...), Nutella and peanut butter, etc. It's a good way to fill up your stomach! - It's not an advantage, but the tip is as mentioned above. Personal lock / Multiple personal towels depending on the number of days / Required.!! +I think it would be good to have a plastic bag to store things. + About a wet tissue..? I don’t know about anything else, but don’t forget your padlock towel ~~ (disadvantage) 1. I don’t have my own space(?) It's so obvious, but it's not just my room like a motel or hotel. There are bound to be some uncomfortable things. Guests sharing a room snore, Either they are people who do **, or they are active early in the morning and come in noisily... If you don't wash well or have sensitive senses of smell, hearing, etc., use a little more. It can be hard. (The person named ** came in on the last night of my stay. It was difficult because the smell was a bit unpleasant.. haha) Still, there is a screen for all the needles, so I use that. It's okay to use AirPods or earplugs! It’s a hostel!! 2. Luggage storage This is related to not having my own space. It is stored in a shared locker with a lock. For things like suitcases that are too bulky to fit, just store them anywhere in the room. I store it in the lobby, but honestly, even if there is a lock on the suitcase, I feel a little uneasy. Someone could take it away, and to be honest, you can just cut the lock off... A part-timer who works in the hostel lobby said that at first. Since there is no CCTV and it is a bit dangerous, the most important thing is that you have no choice but to manage your luggage thoroughly haha..! You really have to pay close attention and take good care of yourself!! Despite all these shortcomings, I strongly recommend it to student travelers like me who have no money or who want to travel cheaply. I think it's great enough for this price. I am 10000000% willing to visit again. As long as you are not too sensitive and take good care of yourself, it is a perfect accommodation with no accidents at all! I hope this detailed review was helpful and have a safe and happy trip! If you have any questions about travel-related accommodations, Please email siiinyo0406@Naver! kindly !! HHannJust needed to stay one night to catch a flight the next morning. Front desk was very friendly and helpful. The room was a bit cramped but was overall fine. Breakfast was nothing fancy but was also fine. More options than I thought there would be. The traffic was a bit alarming in the morning getting to the airport. Would recommend leaving early to allow for time.

LLisa DesmondThe most caring people I have ever encountered. Upon arrival from AUS at 8.30 am my phone battery was flat and my bank travel Mastercard card wasn’t working so I was unable to pay the taxi driver. I was travelling solo and hadn’t slept in 36 hours so I was stressed and barely lucid when I walked in to the hotel. Lucia at front desk took care of things for me. We got my phone working, got the cab driver paid then she called house keeping and organised a room to be cleaned ASAP so I could check in early. I was in my room in bed by 10am thanks to her. After a lovely afternoon out and about, the next morning I woke up vomiting and running a fever. They don’t have room service so the front desk staff brought anti-nausea ***** and water up to my room within 3 minutes of me calling. They offered to phone and check in on me throughout the day as they knew I was travelling alone. The next morning when I checked out at 5.30am to get to LAX I got in my Uber and as it was about to leave the woman on front desk came running out, stopped us from leaving and said to me “you said your Uber’s a Nissan, this isn’t a Nissan, you should get out of the car”. It turned out a previous guest had taken my Uber. Once we realised this, the driver of the Uber I was in would not take me, told me to leave his vehicle and get my bags out of his car. As I had a plane to catch and was worried I would miss it, the same front desk lady rang me a cab which arrived in minutes. If you are a solo traveller STAY AT THIS HOTEL!! The rooms are beautiful, spacious and clean. To top it all off Lucia didn’t charge me for early check in; she said given how stressful getting there had been, it was the least she could do to help. Gifts from God and great beds to boot!

GGuest UserI like the room interior very much. Antique and nice. It was like coming to a cafe. The room is clean and the location is 5 minutes by car. I would like to visit if I go back.

XxueyiyiNot recommended: 1, should be the Indian boss, there are strange smells in the corridor; 2, the room floor, the bed is squeaking, the facilities are outdated, the bed has a box, it is easy to squat people, has been bruised several times; 3, air conditioning, bathroom exhaust fan opened, just like the engine sound is too noisy, outside is noisy; 4, early is not ordinary ugly, bread is strange, are packed in the bag, many guests are Not here to eat; good place is good location, about 700 meters from the farmer's market supermarket, there is a car museum and art museum nearby, driving half a hour from Universal Studios, the car can be parked near the roadside (must be No. 34 can stop Area), the hotel will give a parking permit (one per day) check-in and check-out is convenient, the price is not cheap.

GGuest UserDespite offering free breakfast, it does NOT start till 7-00am, then finishes at 9-00 sharp. Lots of food then thrown out, it was like packaged scrambled egg, small overcooked mini sausage, and diced fried potato. Lots of overseas guests cane after 9-00am no food? People leaving before 7-00am missed out as well! Room was okay and bathroom was very clean!

GGuest UserMost important: we got an excellent nights sleep. Second floor in the back of the hotel (rm 222). It was quiet and we found the bed excellent. Service was helpful, polite. And the Wifi worked reasonably well - no problems with that. Also important is we booked the room for $84 (total) and in LA/Manhattan Beach area that is cheap. Walk in price was $109+tax. So all my suggestions are just ”future ideas” and I have no grounds to complain about anything since we slept really well there. And yes, we will be back again no future trips. Things that could be better: o ice maker ”out of service” - they had one unit and it was connected, would make whirring noise when pushing in the dispenser, but no ice. We used the in-room 'fridge to freeze some water bottles to keep our picnic things cool the next day. o inner courtyard looks like a small prison yard: the former pool and hottub are covered with what looks like roofing material and the fence around the pool area is locked off. No plants is the main problem. This could be a gem of a garden. My advice is to visit estate sales and garage sales to buy all the *large* potted plants they can find cheap (or free). o renovate the rooms a bit: e.g. rip out the old carpets and put in any (yes, even linoleum) floor that can be mopped - much cleaner, no place for fleas, bedbugs, or dust mites to live in. Wash the walls and paint where repairs have been made - simple things can make the room much more pleasant to be in. o put a window screen on the back window - which essentially faces a wall. But it was good (quiet) ventilation since it wasn't facing the street. o small grey mark on the pillow case and a stray hair on the bed - harmless stuff to us but other people might find more objectiionable. And some stains in the carpet that probably will never come out. Not a big deal.
