By far one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had, not only because the installations are fantastic but also because of the friendliness of every staff member, the attention to detail and the hospitality. We arrived at 11 pm and the owner understood we were hungry and cooked us dinner despite the lateness (she even fetched vegetables from the garden behind the hotel), definitely our best stay in china and we’ve been traveling for 4 months.

Amazing stay, cozy rooms with nice view of the old buildings in the city center. Great position near the walkway to terrace scenery spots. Tasty food and especially very nice host that help us on getting back to airport with car. We had dinner together with host family and friends and it was amazing. Reccomended for a true mountain experience!

It was raining just two days ago, so I was pleasantly surprised by the clear weather when I arrived – choosing this hotel was absolutely the right decision! The view is incredible, with the rice terraces stretching out endlessly and the distant mountains shrouded in mist, creating a truly serene atmosphere. The hotel service was very attentive; they picked me up from the parking lot, and the staff were welcoming and helpful, answering all my questions. The food at the hotel was delicious too. I hope to have another chance to come back for a vacation when the rice is being harvested.

The hotel offers great views, and the facilities are excellent. The room was very spacious, and we could enjoy the stunning terraced fields right from our balcony. The location is also good, situated between two viewpoints. The hotel provides a shuttle service from the parking lot, as cars can't directly access the hotel. Be aware that you'll still need to climb some stairs, so it might not be suitable for those with mobility issues. Additionally, you'll need to pay 10 RMB for someone to carry your luggage to the hotel. On the day we arrived, there were many guests, so service was a bit delayed, but other than that, everything else was quite good.

This is hands down the best homestay I've ever experienced! The hosts (the owner and his wife) are incredibly kind and welcoming. My suitcase had become exceptionally heavy after several days of travel and shopping. Without a moment's hesitation, even in the pouring rain, the owner single-handedly carried it up multiple flights of stairs. I was deeply touched by his incredible effort; it was genuinely hard work. Dinner was a heartwarming experience, shared with their entire family, and their children were absolutely adorable. The hosts are genuine, hardworking individuals from an ethnic minority group, dedicated to running their homestay with integrity and care. No matter what needs or concerns arose during my stay, the hosts enthusiastically went above and beyond to assist, genuinely caring for every guest. This is something I experienced firsthand. Finding such a wonderful place and meeting such kind-hearted people is truly a lucky and heartwarming part of any journey. This review reflects my honest opinion; if you're reading it, you can book this place without a second thought. The scenery, needless to say, is absolutely stunning, and the location is equally superb. So, when comparing similar value for money, I chose an environment that offered more warmth and positive energy. Encountering such fortunate and heartwarming people and experiences during a tiring journey truly re-energizes us, empowering us to face life with renewed strength and diligence. I believe this is precisely the meaning of why we embark on journeys! I am just an ordinary traveler, and I wrote this review purely out of gratitude for the profound kindness and genuine sincerity I encountered. I generally rarely write reviews. I've even specially included a photo with the host family, hoping everyone will support their business. There haven't been many tourists lately, but my experience was absolutely phenomenal.

We were unfortunately caught in very bad weather during our stay, so we couldn't fully enjoy the destination. However, the hotel itself was excellent. The hotel was beautiful, very clean, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The service on-site was impeccable. We especially appreciated the man who helped us carry our luggage up the many stairs, which made our arrival much easier. The only area that could be improved is communication. Before our arrival, we weren't given any information about how to reach the hotel, and since taxis cannot drop guests off directly at the entrance, we were quite lost. Likewise, when we checked out, no one informed us about the shuttle schedule, which made our departure more stressful than it needed to be. Overall, we had a very positive experience. With clearer communication before arrival and departure, this hotel would be outstanding.

I took advantage of the last days of summer vacation for a summer getaway, choosing the Longji Rice Terraces and Ping'an Picking Rice. I searched for a hotel for a long time before booking Yixi in advance, and it was definitely the right choice. I was initially worried about parking in the mountains and the cleanliness of the hotel facilities, but I was wrong. It was very convenient; the owner sent a car to pick me up from the parking lot, and we didn't have to walk far. The hotel was designed by the owner himself, and it's absolutely perfect. Every snapshot is beautiful. I could sit by the window all day, enjoying a cappuccino – I loved it! This time I came alone, but I'll bring my family to stay longer when the rice paddies turn golden, and we'll definitely choose Yixi again…

From the moment we arrived, Jason and his wife took incredible care of us. They picked up our luggage right at the foot of the hill and had it carried up to our rooms while we headed off to explore Ping'An village — such a thoughtful touch that let us start our visit unburdened and worry-free. The views from both the lobby and our rooms were nothing short of incredible — the kind of scenery that feels genuinely healing for the soul. We found ourselves just sitting and taking it in more than once. Jason's hospitality went above and beyond throughout our stay. When my friend developed blisters after a long day of walking, they went through their entire ice supply just to help her ice her foot and get some relief. That kind of generosity and care is rare to find. The decor throughout the property is completely unique — wood carvings and old doors that Jason salvaged and collected from old homes give the lobby and guest rooms so much character and history. It's clear this place was built with real passion and personal touch. We also loved the food at the hotel restaurant, especially the traditional 竹筒饭 (bamboo rice) — simply delicious, along with everything else we tried. Jason and his wife have created something truly special here. Can't recommend Baike enough — an unforgettable stay in every way.

The location is great, just a seven or eight-minute walk from the Ping'anzhai observation deck. The scenery is absolutely stunning, surrounded by mountains. Opening the balcony door from your room feels like you're living in the clouds. We went during the off-season, so there weren't many people. The guesthouse has a traditional Chinese architectural style, all solid wood, and the materials used are very substantial. The only downside is that you have to park in a designated parking lot quite far from the hotel, pay a high parking fee, and then buy an electric cart ticket to get up there. You can clearly drive up yourself, which I found very confusing and inconvenient.

We loved our stay here. Extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming host. Helped us organise shared transport to the hotel from Guilin West Railway Station for 80 yuan each. We hiked from Ping’an to Dazhai and she organised our collection in Dazhai and subsequent transport to Guilin, including luggage transfer. This also cost 80 yuan each but the price depends on the season. Clean, spacious rooms and the free fresh fruit was a nice touch. The host is also a great chef and made us both dinner and breakfast, the latter costing 18 yuan for two. Great location within Ping’an, halfway between the two famous Ping’an viewpoints - you can walk to one (about 20 minutes) then follow a mountain trail to the other (40 minutes between the two). Based on our hike to Dazhai, staying in Ping’an felt like the right decision as it seemed a little quieter and more authentic to us.
