Sadly disappointed ☹️ we had family to stay and booked for Sunday lunch... Food was obviously prepared and poor, Yorkshire pudding tough roast potatoes cold and not nice. The service was terrible... Asked for water for the table given a pint glass for 7 of us... Had to keep asking for gravy, the veg came in separate serving dishes, had to ask for serving spoons and were very truculently given soup spoons! The young man who was our waiter failed to come back to clear the table after the main course even though I went to find him. (He was hanging out with his mate in the bar) eventually flagged down an older lady who did clear the table and take desert orders ... This is supposed to be a 4* Hotel, it was frankly embarrassing and we will not be taking visitors there again!

The best staff, lovely place to stay, great food and cheap booze. We loved our stay here, loved chatting with the staff, would definitely come back. Rooms were great and clean, huge place and right in the middle of Llandovery. Next time I visit again I'll be visiting

My wife and decided to have a day away so picked this place as we were recommended . Had a lovely time , in Llandovery , great Curry in the high street . Had a few drinks then off to bed . Everything was fine until the heating system kicked in at 2.5 in the morning. What a nightmare . It sounded like a waterfall was the other side of the headboard . Went down to reception but no one to be found . So a sleepless night for us both 😡 The lady in charge the following morning was very apologetic and said she thought the matter had been addressed as it must of happened before . Completely spoilt the whole experience of the stay . Please avoid room 12 at all costs or until the heating system has been sorted . 💦💦💦

Very friendly and helpful staff especially Susan. Rooms adequate but nothing more. Quite enjoyed sandwiches at lunch but dinner was disappointing and the lack of a wine list and more of a selection of wines was a negative. My real issue was coming back a little after noon and finding housekeeping had not been to my room. When I requested this be remedied, it was but the bed was still left unmade. Would still give it a second chance based on the staff. Carl

I would avoid this place at all cost poor piss experience from start to finish and no coordination what so ever. I feel sorry for certain members of staff because they are over worked and under payed and as for management that's another thing.

A friend and I stayed here in April as part of an old car rally. The Hotel has obviously been refurbished and there are still some snagging issues to sort out. The lovely Ladies who were looking after us asked for a list of things we found in our room, Room 30, and I am sure they will be dealt with. There were a few design issues for a 'disabled 'room but it was nice to be listened to. The plugs were hidden behind the bed and not easily accessible for medical equipment was the main one otherwise I would have given a 5 star rating. All of the Staff we came into contact with were friendly and very helpful. I arrived a bit late on the Friday but there were no complaints when I didn't manage to get to the restaurant until 8.45. I'd recommend the garlic mushrooms! The food on Saturday evening was pre ordered as we were a largish party and there was a choice of 3 mains. It came out promptly, was hot and tasty and everyone served quickly so we could all start at the same time. The young man that served our table soon got our sense of humour and deserves a medal! We were left to eat in peace with none of the 'Is everything alright' which, having been in the Hotel Business, I appreciated and prefer. Would I stay here again. Definately. And have said to the Rally organiser if he does another Event around that area he should use the Hotel as a base again.

A hotel is as good as its management? Well there's lots to improve on, if you care enough, about the staff and the customer? I've been going to this hotel for 20 years (we have a woodland nearby). The wonderful Sue recognised me and later my son, and she was such a support (my son was unwell, we think a bad hamburger in the hotel the night before). Sue was on her own handling so much, I could not quite believe it. Easy to blame the staff for bad reviews, and the food was not good, but if the management really cared people like Sue would be properly supported, valued and more.

Food was just average. Portions were small and of low quality. Service was genuinely the worst I have ever experienced. An utter lack of knowledge in the catering and hospitality trade. The pub was not busy and did not appear to be short staffed yet the table was only half cleared after our main, no offer of re fills and it took 20 odd minutes for synthetic desserts to be served following the main meal. A real pity as we had been here previously and the food and service was faultless then but unfortunately was quite the opposite on this occasion.

Rooms 13 & 14 have some sort of waste water system running every 20mins until midnight, And then if it’s raining its gurgling all night like someone emptying a bath !!! Only got 3 hours sleep!!! WORST ROOMS EVER !!! And I am writing this at 4 AM as I can’t sleep due to the noise !!
