We are regular visitors to lovely Praia da Luz. This was the first time at this hotel and we were very happy with our stay. We had premium sea view room with lovely views over the pool and out to sea. Room was large and plenty of storage space, the best we’ve had for a long time. Fridge worked well, as did the air con. Free safe and pool towels. Comfortable bed. Room cleaned to good standard. Large and fluffy bath towels. On the minus side- The safe was quite small, but just about managed to fit in our iPads. It locked with a key as opposed to digital locking, and the room key was rather cumbersome too. Didn’t like the plastic shower curtain. Breakfast was fine. Not a huge selection, but adequate. The bread rolls and the cakes were delicious. Great pool area, never a problem getting a sun bed at any time of day. Hotel Location very quiet and peaceful, but it was a steep climb up from the restaurants, shops and beach (bearing in mind we’re in our 70’s with bad knees). But that wouldn’t put us off staying there again. There is a bus stop outside hotel, but out of season the buses stop quite early.

It was an excellent experience , all very well starting with very sympathetic and very nice staff , the perfectly clean clothes , very soft the sticky coats , The very quiet environment with a spectacular view of the sea and super clean pool.

If you look for nature, peace and comfort, this is the place to go. In the middle of the Vincentina Coast Natural Park, full of birds and trees, the buildings of the hotel are designed with great architectural vision. The rooms are just georgeous and have private balcony or gardens. The main building is on higher ground with an amazing view over the park and on the ocean. Enjoy the sunsets from the terrace with the lanterns in the evening or at one of the tables in the excellent Azeitona restaurant. The menu provides for all tastes (fish, meat and vegetarian) and the dishes are prepared with a lot of flavour and finesse presentation. Breakfast is outstanding, with a large buffet selection (lots of typical Portugese sweets, home-made sourdough bread, many fruits, yoghurt, cereals, seeds, meat, cheese and salmon, fresh fruit juice, Bloody Mary station and Portuguese sparkling wine) and à la carte dishes (the pancakes with red fruits! the egg Benedict with salmon!) and drinks. Staff is really great and go out of their way to help the guests. I’d like to specifically mention Elisabete (breakfast and pool bar Zimbro) - who should be paid by the count of steps and smiles -, also Jessica and Paula (dinner service), Bruno (pool bar Zimbro and dinner), Tomas (sommelier) and I wholeheartedly recommend the delicious cocktails from Juan (bar tender Menzondro and cocktail creator). Book a spa session for ultimate relaxation, I had the place (with two sauna’s, hamam, IR shower, ice bath and indoors and outdoor pool) to myself several times. Soledad is very kind, lets you enjoy the place by taking good care of it and serves hot tea and cold water throughout. The main pool is nicely integrated in the landscape and pool service is very good. I very much enjoyed the complimentary yoga sessions in the morning from yogi master Sofia, she is an outstanding teacher, builds the flows from floor to standing to floor for all levels and does a very peaceful meditation at the end where she makes sure everyone lies aligned and relaxed. Namaste, Sofia! The Whatsapp concierge service is very convenient and Joana was very helpful during booking and at check-out. Often forgotten, but certainly worth the mention here is the room cleaning and turndown staff who impeccably service the rooms every day. If you like hiking, I warmly recommend the walks provided in the booklet of the hotel (next to many other activities which also look great). The walk down to the ocean (3,6km, red, labelled average) takes about 50 min (and about 1h10 up) through the Natural Park and rewards you with the best views of empty sand beaches and ocean cliffs like in movies - there is no access but by the dust roads, I only met 1 car driving down and on weekdays spent the time down at the ocean alone (in the weekend there were a few hikers and local surfers, but still paradise ). Can't tell you how amazing this hotel is - we go to it every 6 months. I wouldn't go anywhere else now. Im ridiculously fussy and drive myself mad to be honest, I've always had issues with my childs health from he was little so we have always needed to bleach everywhere and travel with Dettol wipes and anti- mite plug ins and goodness what else but I have come to learn that i dont need to do this in this hotel, you could eat your dinner off the floor as we say in Belfast. We took my pops away this time with us because unbelievablyhe has never had a foreign holiday, and he's nearly 70 years old - he was blew away. Food is amazing - My son Jack has ADHD &Autism, and he is extremely fussy about his food, what it looks like, what it feels like, the textures, the colours. It's a nightmare, but he loves the grub at Vila Galé. There's never an issue. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, pool bar, Alá Carté restaurant, ”The Masafina”. There is so much to choose from. My daughter Annie loves the food too, she's usually eats like a mouse but eats like a horse when we stay here, haha. There's nothing better for a parent in my humble opinion, to see your children sitting down to lovely big plates of healthy food from all different continents. There's a spa, 3 different steam rooms, massage rooms, yoga room, a big Gym, jacuzzi, large heated indoor pool, tennis courts, golf course, splash pool Park especially for the children(and big kids ie: adults haha), volleyball pitch, football pitch, table tennis, adventure park, big trampoline (which is really good fun), fruit tree orchards, herb gardens, pool tables, darts tables. There's things I will be leaving out because they weren't as important to us. This hotel works hard for conservation, they grow their own fruit. There's olive trees everywhere all over the hotel grounds too. The grounds that surround the hotel span a couple of miles- it's a beautiful walk. Obviously they have an outdoor pool too, but you see it in the brochures and yes, it really does look that stunning. I should probably mention that the pool bar don't just do ”run of the mill” food- we are all vegetarians so we always get stuck with things that way. They do the most gorgeous veggie wraps, salads, veg burgers etc. The pool bar menu is stunning. The ice cream is Carté Ďor and they have an amazing sugar free range as a family member is a type 1 diabetic, which has led us all not to take sugary drinks. The public toilets are always in immaculate condition, always spotless, shining, soap, toilet roll. No problems there. Rooms are lovely too. Housemaid are amazing and do an amazing job. The restaurant staff are amazing. The hotel staff at reception are great too. I hope this review helps, I highly recommend the Vila Galé Lagos, Preia Meia, Portugal. Its expensive in some peoples opinion but- to me I always believe you get what you pay for and if my children are looked after and happy, that's all I want. I'm 100% happy. The regulation is to check in at 6 o'clock in the evening, we arrived at 3 o'clock, and we were also checked in. A resort-like hotel with new facilities and a well-maintained appearance. The front desk and the concierge speak good English, and most of the guests are British. The room is very spacious. The kitchen on the first floor is equipped with a washing machine, dishwasher, pots and pans, a large dining room and balcony, a guest bathroom, and a large terrace. On the ground floor there are two bedrooms, each with a bathroom. Outside the floor-to-ceiling windows is a small yard, connected to the next-door unit. You can walk directly from the green belt to the swimming pool. Children like the swimming pool very much, and there is a kiosk next to it for coffee and drinks. If I have a chance in the future, I will come again. To go to the beach, you can drive by yourself or take the hotel shuttle. The quality of salema beach itself is also very good, there are public toilets, small and beautiful beach.

Resorts are good. But staff is not enough and also security of resort is quite loose. Everybody can go into the resort and no one will check.

This hotel location is somewhat biased, it is not recommended to live, you can live in the west side of Lagos, there is more prosperous, the navigation belt driving at night is very biased. Our family is cautiously driving, but the hotel itself has no problem. Very good, drive to the big supermarket and dock restaurant area in 5 minutes, but this is not too developed, so it seems very biased

Good stay, but the apartments could be better, there were no curtains on the kitchen windows and slightly uncomfortable beds
