The dormy inn is a bit small and older than the other dormy inns i have stayed before. However, we were surprised to learn that this dormy inn offers iced coffee, oolong teas, and pops during 3-9pm, where normal dormy inns would just offer regular hot coffee and americanos. We were so lucky to be able to watch and experience the sunset on the top floor resting area (where the onsen is also location on). The sunset was stunning (tho the ANA Crowne Plaza blocked some of the view) and it was one of the most beautiful sunset i've ever experienced.

I stayed to travel to Kushiro for two days and one night from my stay in Sapporo. When I left the station and looked to the left side, there was a large display at the top of the hotel, and I immediately knew the location. The hotel was clean and the room had everything I needed. I booked from an old business hotel, Agoda, smoking room selection is possible, near the station in front of the bus center, and the large communal bath has also been restored to 2023.10. You can use laundry and detergent freely, and you can use the dryer for 100 yen for 30 minutes. The room was cold and hot without heating, so he lent me a blanket. This is our 2nd stay at this hotel. Stayed for a night on our drive while visiting north eastern Hokkaido between Rausu n Tsurui. Had a twin room with views of the ocean. Nice comfortable room with modern amenities. There is a charge for the carpark and did not have any meals at the hotel. Most stay around here if you want to visit Lake Akan district (still an hour drive as speed limit n single lane road most of it). Good hotel base if you want to visit Tsurui as it’s about 30mins drive and there are not much accommodation choices in Tsurui.

Coffee tea and other drinks and bathing agents were saved. It was a pity that TV, pot and dryer were old. The air conditioner is old or the sound is big. But the staff were very kind. Thank you.

Hotel is in a nice spot by the river and harbor, with a Fisherman’s Wharf tourist area 3 minutes walk away. On our arrival walk from the train station we noted the town was a bit depressed and later learned 2 of their 3 main industries were fading (paper and coal declining while fishing booms). Perhaps because of this and lingering pandemic effects, the hotel pulled out some stops to make guests’ stays more enjoyable - complimentary buffet of bath salts and pillows in the lobby, plus complimentary breakfast set options on top of an an already nice buffet. We opted for the seafood breakfast and were extremely happy with it. Our room, a Deluxe Hollywood Twin would be perfect for 2 adults, it was a bit cramped for the 3 of us with a rollaway. The bathroom was a Japanese style wet room which we appreciate. We also used the coin laundry. If you’ve got a car this could serve as a decent base for some exploring. We spent one day on a bus tour up to Lake Akan.

Yamahana Onsen Refre is a hotel located in Yamahana, Kushiro City, Hokkaido. On June 28, 2022, I walked to Sarubo Observatory and Sarurun Observatory. From there, I drove to Yamahana Onsen Refre. A water heater and a cold water pot. The view from the window looked like this. The Kushiro City Zoo is right next door, and you can see the Ferris wheel. I'm glad there's an electric fan. There's a bathtub, but I probably won't use it because I'll be going to the large public bath. The toilet has a heated seat. Razors are sold for 120 yen. I went to the hot spring right away. Yamahana Onsen is said to be the first hot spring to spring up in Kushiro. The spring water was a little yellowish. It's an alkaline sodium spring. It's said to have the same salt concentration as seawater. It's a shame that there's no wifi. I didn't have a Rakuten mobile line, so I connected with au's 1Mbps. It was 17,970 yen for two people with one night stay and two meals. It was 6:05, so I had dinner at the restaurant on the first floor.
