Hotel Gozensui

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Gozensui in Lake Akan. The location is fantastic — the frozen lake and all the winter activities are just a short walk from the hotel. The staff were very helpful and welcoming, and even though English wasn’t widely spoken, they really tried their best to assist with anything we needed. Our room faced the lake and the view was beautiful, especially at night when we could watch the fireworks right from the room. A very memorable stay in Lake Akan.

The Location and the view are amazing. But, it is an old hotel that desperately needs to be renovated.

The front of the hotel looks nice but inside is old. The dinner is good but breakfast is soso. Will not stay here again as the room is overpriced. Lake Akan cruise centre is just behind the hotel n Ainu village is just 2min walk away. Location of hotel is very good.

Aged hotel all facilities are old like back to the old day. Dinner pretty good, breakfast is standard buffet. If you didn't mind old stuffs the price is compatible. The public onsen ventilation isn't that good, outdoor onsen surround by wooden plank only top is open, no view not feeling good. 😕

Location is near the main street, convenient for shopping, and for outdoor activities. Hotel is a bit old, but outdoor Onsen is good.

Location is great. There s a bus stop in front of the hotel and bot far from ainu village. Also the building is next to the lake so you will get great view. Room is very big and be in traditional japanese style. Facilities so great and staff so helpful and friendly

This hotel holds so much promise. Excellent location by Lake Akan. Staff were generally helpful and courteous although English not really understood here. The rooms with the Lake View had marvellous views but the condition of the room and bathroom were really In need of an upgrade or total retrofit. Furniture was worn out and sofas soft and sunk in. But the worst is the bathroom. The shower head was so tiny that you really could not take a shower in the room. The bathroom basin did not have a mixer thus you cant have proper warm water when needed. The basin and bathtub looks so old I do not think anyone would use it. The public bath was at most average. What irked ne was the inconsistency of the temperature of the shower water. Youre having a hot shower and the water will turn cold before turning back to hot again. Buffet breakfast was catered to tour groups and nothing to write home about. We were there 2 nights and breakfast was exactly the same stuff. Dinner was average at best. We just feel that Gozensui has so much potential. I would not stay here again unless I know of changes and improvements to its rooms and bathrooms.

Service is wonderful, the location is convenient and the car park is free

The hotel is very near Akan lake. The room is clean and spacious with beautiful scenic view of the lake and mountain. It’s worth value of money.
