We stayed in one of the rooms with a private onsen. It was a large room with two beds on the floor and a dining area. There was also a tiny makeup area/table on the side that I truly appreciated. The in-room onsen was large and comfortable. It had a large window that opens which brings in the refreshing cool air. The Skintheque toiletries were luxurious and perfect. The large shower was also a plus for us. Food was unbelievable. I was able to try new tastes and flavours I won't soon forget. The breakfast chicken with tomato and onion was a surprise. Dinner's abalone was also a revelation. My DH is a tall and large man. We truly appreciated the length of the bed, the size of the shower and onsen. The only problem is that the hotel staff is not very well-versed in English, though they do try their best.

It was 20 minutes before the check-in time, but the attendant in front of the gate greeted me with a smile, took my luggage and guided me to the front desk, and the receptionist also smiled and proceeded immediately. Other staff were comfortable inn to greet you with a smile. I enjoyed a color 々 bath, and the snow view bath from the open air of the muddy hot water was the best. The room is compact and old, but it is satisfied with the hospitality and service of the smile. The rice was also delicious, such as the fried tenkara and the soup cut soup that Itamae made in front of me.

We stayed here for 4nights and enjoyed the convenience of this place. We had a rented car and parking was easy. Room was spacious and heating was very good especially in winter nights. The owners gave us free breakfast on a Sunday and it was very nice gesture. The staff and owner tried their very best to make us feel comfortable, and they are the only ones in Kusatsu that speak a little bit of English to us. All in all, this place was very convenient and fairly accessible. Thanks for having us, will surely return.

GGuest User 2022.02.01
I stayed with my family twice in January 2022, after the New Year and in late January. Both rooms were on the 7th floor. The first time was a corner room, and if you looked down from the veranda, you could see the flow of the Shima River. The second time was not a corner room, but a family of three could relax in a Japanese-style room of 10 and a half tatami mats. Both arrived earlier than the check-in time, but the check-in was smooth, and the explanation from the front desk staff was polite, and it was easy to understand with memos such as meal time and bath time. Thanks to that, I was able to enjoy the open-air bath early. The open-air bath had shampoo conditioner, body soap, and soap. A razor, aftershave lotion, hair tonic, hair liquid, comb, cotton swabs, and tissues are provided at the open-air bath washbasin. It seems that there was also a cleansing for women. There was a place where you can drink the hot springs on the first floor. A paper cup is provided. Two elevators. One was the observation elevator. There were heaters and rubbing alcohol throughout the ryokan. Wifi was available everywhere in the room and inside the hotel, so I didn't have any problems during my stay. It was fast enough. By the way, the price of juice etc. in the vending machine in the inn was the same as the price outside. I was impressed that there was also a vending machine for cup noodles. Tea and sweets were placed in the room, and there was hot water in the electric kettle and cold water in the refrigerator. The tea was Japanese tea and hojicha, and there were many teapot packs. For dinner, we had a meal in a large hall, but each table was far away, and we were given a bag to put away the mask during the meal. You can enjoy your meal slowly. I was satisfied with the quantity and taste. The catering staff was moving very quickly and it felt good. After dinner, there was a picture-story show by the proprietress. It was about 15 minutes, but seeing the proprietress's heartfelt picture-story show made me feel very nostalgic. There was also an explanation of Shima Onsen. When my son saw the picture-story show for the first time, he became a fan of the proprietress. The second time, after the picture-story show, my son was very happy to have a two-shot with the proprietress. When you return to your room after dinner, the futons are spread out and you can sleep right away. My bed is always my home, so the futon in the Japanese-style room is somewhat fresh. The open-air bath was open to men and women at different times, but it was spacious and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Even after 5:00 in the morning, I went to the open-air bath in the dark and woke up perfectly. Breakfast was also very good. Check-out is at 11:00, so buy souvenirs at the shop before that. If you pay by credit card, it will be smoother if you ask them to charge the room before checking out. When I left the entrance, the staff took out my shoes, everyone greeted me in a loud voice, and I was able to leave comfortably. On the way back, when I took a family photo in front of the entrance, the staff came immediately and took it for me. Shima Onsen wasn't a big tourist spot, but it was a very good place to go to the hot springs with your family.

This is the hotel taking 5 star from my own scoring so far in Japan. 1) Central location with free car park 2) Amazing Food with Kaiseki type traditional service(Dinner and breakfast). All the ingredients and the way that they prepare in nice atmosphere is amazing. I think it was the best food experience for me so far in Japan. 3) Indoor and open air onsen which is so clean. 4) Service quality and hospitality is top class. We wanted to give a surprise gift to our cousin. We asked their restaurant management to prepare a special closed ceramic bowl etc. They perfectly prepared more than our expectation. Moreover, they also gave their own small gift to our cousin. 5) Building also in traditional shape and well maintained. 6) Our room was traditional tatami style and it was big enough with bath tube and toilet. 7) First floor is the biggest souvenir shop in central kusatsu area.

I used it on the tour, but I stayed on the 3 floor of the tower building. The room is a Western-style room, but the facilities are old and the carpets are dirty and I think about walking barefoot. Moreover, the drawer of the TV stand opened automatically even if it was closed or closed, and it felt like a room with a spirit. It was a room that seemed to be screaming if it was a young woman The bath was acidic and the temperature was high, so I was able to use it comfortably. The meal is a buffet style with dinner and breakfast, so I had as much as I liked.

What I liked was that there was a nice seating areas inside for guests waiting for three out-door private baths and you can see which of these are available while waiting inside. It was very kind of them to do it. They have a beautiful Japanese style garden, and drinking free coffee and tea at the garden seating after the long hot spring (onsen) was the heavenly retreat. They even had free yogurt drink and ice cream at the bath area. Of course with water dispenser. We eat meals at the eating areas, but each group has a private room. Staff are also friendly to children. Only shortfall was that one of the outdoor baths in a public one was out of order, and water in a private bath was not hot enough, so felt like we catch a cold.

We stayed for one night on November 28. Reservation is HP of Kusatsu Hotel. We booked a main building corner room with two meals per night. You can pick up and drop off by car from Kusatsu Onsen Bus Terminal. Kusatsu Hotel is a beautiful Japanese style inn with a wooden 3-story building built on the high ground of the entrance to the West Kawahara Park. The quaint building is very good atmosphere. The antique furnishings and decorated raw flowers were modest and beautiful. The adjacent Kataoka Tsurutaro Museum of art seems to be operated by Kusatsu Hotel. The corner room on the 3 floor of the main building was a good room with a good view with two corners surrounded by windows. The old wooden frame window feels good. Thanks to the snow that had fallen the day before, we enjoyed the snowy scenery of Kusatsu. The ”Okuba” of the restaurant, which was extended to 2020, is a modern and bright atmosphere while leaving a Japanese taste. The breakfast and evening meals were beautiful, and all the dishes using fresh ingredients were delicious. The public bath (open-air two hot water) is also in a new separate building. It is full of openness and is kept clean. With a large inner bath with a source hanging water and an open-air bath, Kusatsu! It was a very pleasant hot water. (West Kawahara source) Kusatsu Hotel, great satisfaction with a wonderful inn as word of mouth!

GGuest UserIt was the smallest room, but it seemed to have been renewed, and the wallpaper and so on smelled good in the tatami table. The meal was colored 々 and enjoyed. The tea bowl steaming of foie gras was fat and it was impossible for the elderly, but I had a lot of ground things such as salmon and cow in Joshu. I was happy to see me left-handed and to take care of me to replace the direction of the cheek at breakfast. The table interval was wide, and I could enjoy the meal quietly without worrying about each other. Yubata and bus terminal are close, but it is a calm inn in a quiet place.

GGuest UserThis was my first and only stay at a ryokan so I don’t have much to compare it to. I chose this lodging because of the cats and good reviews on the food. The cats were really sweet and I enjoyed playing with them. I have 2 cats of my own so it was really nice. The food was so beautiful and delicious - the mushroom soup at dinner was amazing. I really enjoyed it. The private bath rooms were very convenient and open 24 hrs. I thought the facilities were clean and very pleasant. The location was very close to the central area and a quick walk to all the important sites including the bus station. The only comment I have was in the morning someone was smoking and the smell got ****** into the 2nd floor hallway so maybe more care should be taken to be sure the smoke stays outside. The host was so nice and sweet and I used google translate to ask questions. The matcha madeleines are so tasty I bought a box to take with me.

GGuest UserI use Kyoritsu Resort in Izu. It's still far from Yokohama and it's hard to drive, but I was able to enjoy Kusatsu's hot water and was surprised at the abundant amount of hot water in Kusatsu (the largest eruption in Japan!). Hills has an indoor bath, an open-air bath, and a room bath all hanging except for insulation. Although it will be long, Kusatsu is famous for its six main sources (Mandai mine, Yubatake, Shirahata, Jizo, Nikawa, Nishikawara), but Mr. Ravista Kusatsu has a small amount of hot water and valuable Yukawa hot water in the room. I'm pulling into the open-air bath, You can luxuriously stretch the cypress bath. The indoor bath in the large communal bath and the open-air bath smell a slight sulfur. The 1 cypress bath for people in the indoor bath can enjoy Mandai mine and three source hot water. Yukawa's hot water was surprised that it was difficult to cool even if I took a walk outside in winter. It is also nice that the large communal bath can be bathed for almost 24 hours. In addition to ice candy and night soba service, there are other services by time of day. On the other hand, is the morning and evening meals on Lake Ravista Fujikawaguchi? The tea and coffee service is a combination of the good points of other Kyoritsu Resorts' inn, and you can relax while drinking delicious tea in your room. It takes more than 15 minutes to walk to Yubatake, but there is a hotel pick-up car at the time. The hot springs and services are perfect, but I thought that the breakfast and evening meals were not worth the price (inns of Izu and Kawaguchiko). However, the seasoning was good.

11025yankanaStayed on New Year's Day. Compared to the inn around, it was a reasonable price (because there was no meal). The whole facility is very beautiful, such as the room and facilities. I stayed in a room with a mini kitchen, but the room is also large. It was helpful to have an outlet on the side of the bed. The room was not worried about the cold because of floor heating, but the smoking room was quite cold and the door was badly tightened. Although it is strictly prohibited, as described in the other, the sand and the like were rolling when carrying the carry case, etc., so I thought that the slipper was standard and the facility side was better prepared I didn't know if the humidifier was small and effective for the size of the room. Hot springs are small, but if you don't ask for quality in the hot springs in the inn or so far, it is acceptable. As a matter of concern, it was very cold near the washroom because it was opening the window near the washroom. The free drink service at the rest place was a happy concern. The staff politely taught me the recommended shop for eating out, and it was very helpful. A breakfast with a cherry blossom. It was a style that only took two kinds of bread, winner, scrambled eggs, broccoli rattuiyu, corn soup and cereal. Because the stay is a basic inn, it is a little sorry, but I think it is just good for those who can eat a little. Access It is just from Yubata. It is difficult to understand because it passes through the back alley, but it is only the first. Overall, the facilities are new and beautiful, so I recommend it.

GGuest UserI booked a twin room, but since the accommodation confirmation email said that smoking was possible, I asked for a change of room and changed it to a Japanese-style room. If you want to quit smoking, we recommend avoiding twins as all rooms can smoke. In fact, the smoking room smelled very strong, but the front desk was very good and I was relieved. The facilities are old but there was no problem. Is the sound of flushing the toilet noisy? It's quite comfortable. The bath is Mandai no Yu, which feels gentler than Yubatake no Yu, but Kusatsu no Yu has the power to make your body burn and sleep hard, it's a stone's throw! Both the indoor and open-air baths are quite large and comfortable. The food is the best! This cospa is wonderful for 10,000 yen! !! Moreover, it seems to be a service, but even though it was a basic plan, it had crabs! I dared to avoid crab because it was difficult, but it was still delicious! Thank you! , Is it hard because it is mainly made from Gunma prefecture and has 200g of pork? I didn't expect it, but I was very satisfied with the soft and very good meat at all! Breakfast is also on-parade from Gunma, especially the natto is wonderful and delicious, and it costs 3700 yen for 9 pieces, but I bought it as a souvenir. But considering this price, it's ok at all, and there is a transfer to the daitokan of Yubata, and it is a really wonderful inn with a lot of manga. Absolutely recommended! !! I also want to stay for a long time

GGuest UserPerhaps the biggest flaw: they don’t have non-smoking rooms. Aged hotel, great location, abismal architecture, ugliest building around the Yubatake, nice service, parking out of the town centre, but with a shuttle taking you back and forth any time of the day. The hotel onsen is ok, but not big enough to deal with peak times. Breakfast is fabulous. A true banquet. And service is so good that they’ll even bring you a nama tamago if you ask them. If you don’t want to pay for a traditional-looking bath house building, you’ll find nothing more convenient than this hotel. And if you have a problem with any ashtray smell of your rooms, they will desodorise it in a process that takes 1 hour. Perhaps not a bad idea to ask them to do this before your expected arrival time.

Oonsenzuki5791The location is convenient, close to Yubatake and a convenience store nearby. The inn is old, but the rooms were clean. There was also a kotatsu. Even though it was 20 degrees in Tokyo, it was snowing and cold, so that was a relief. It's less than 8,000 yen including two meals, so I think it's a reasonable price in Kusatsu. The food tasted like home-cooked food, but it was delicious and the dinner was quite voluminous. A private room was prepared separately from the guest room, and we were called when preparations were complete, and no one from the hostel entered the room during the meal. There was a private bath with the Watanoyu source on the first floor, and a private bath for men and women with the Yubatake source in the basement. It was my first time to enter the Wata no Yu hot spring source, but the water was soft and I took my time. Nikawa-no-Yu, Otaki-no-Yu, Jizo-Yu, and Shirahata-no-Yu are all within walking distance, so you can visit them. I went to Kusatsu for the first time in about 3 years, and new accommodations had been built.

GGuest UserOvernight with 3 friends. [Room] A spacious room for the price. Of course, the season is included, but you can see the Kusatsu Onsen ski resort from the window, and there is a feeling of omission. There are some points that I'm worried about, such as the small TV and the dark lighting, but I think it's appropriate because the price is the price. Please note that you can hear the sound of the corridor reasonably. [Bath] There is no locker with a key in the bath (!), so you must leave the room key at the front desk in advance. The quality of the spring is said to be Kusatsu Onsen, and you can enjoy the hot springs firmly (the body is tingling until you get used to it). There are only two open-air baths and indoor baths, but the quality of the springs was good, so the satisfaction was high. However, it is quite a pity that the sliding door of the open-air bath was rattling, and when I opened it, it fell off and fell down. There is a risk of injury, so I would like you to fix it as soon as possible. Also, in winter, the sliding door seems to freeze, so it will not open unless you put a lot of effort into it. You can take a bath even in the middle of the night or early in the morning, so it is recommended for those who want to enter many times (however, towels are charged from the second). [Cooking] Although it is a buffet style, guests gather at almost the same time, so everyone will line up to cook. Depending on the accommodation plan, dishes other than buffets are also prepared on the desk. Gunma's specialty tama konnyaku and vegetable curry were delicious, but the others were mediocre. Rather, some were not very delicious. Especially the crab and abalone according to the plan were disappointing ... Overall, it felt like a training camp. [Others] When walking from Kusatsu Onsen Yubatake, be careful as you have to walk on a fairly sloping road. It is quite close to Kusatsu Onsen Ski Resort by car. If this content is less than 10,000 yen per person, it is good at all. It is not suitable for romantic trips, but if there is a main purpose other than the hotel, I think the cost performance is high.

GGuest UserI stayed overnight with my family. Arrived by car and the parking lot was far away, so I gave the key and parked it. Check-in is fast. I booked a Japanese-style room with 10 tatami mats or 12 tatami mats, but it was very large with 4 rooms (main Japanese-style room, Western-style room with 2 beds, sub-Japanese-style room, 2 TV and table). The inside of the building felt a little old, but it is about the same as other hotels. The room is clean enough. There is also a yukata and a hanten, so there is no problem with warmth. I entered the hot spring three times, but there was an indoor bath and an open-air bath, and it was comfortable with ample size. The dinner was a kaiseki at the restaurant, and the amount was too much to eat, so it was delicious. It was a sukiyaki plan for Joshu Wagyu beef, but the children also praised it. There is a Japanese and Western buffet in the morning, and you can eat all-you-can-eat hot springs *. The location is perfect, 5 minutes walk to Yubatake. It was a stay that bought souvenirs at the shop on the first floor.
