Great holiday at this hotel. Travelled as a family of 5 and the room was plenty big enough. Cleaned everyday with fresh towels. We had a sea view and balcony. The private beach was amazing!! A small charge for sun-beds but very cheap and always plenty available. The beach bar charged for drinks however very cheap. This is one of the best beaches we have visited. The meals were good, pretty much the same as most other hotels, everyone managed to find something they liked everyday. 3 pools and we did manage to get a sun bed but it may have been a problem if became busier. Would recommend; - bus into Kos - boat trip to 3 islands - water park The hotel staff were amazing and all very helpful. Pool bar staff were lovely and Catarina on reception was very friendly and helpful. Great holiday and lovely hotel. Remember to bring mosquito protection with you, we didn’t have any bites!

Rooms dirty, wardrobe and draws full of insects, we went all inclusive but on arrival we're told we wud need to upgrade to ultra all inclusive if we wanted bottles of water and some other drinks, staff at reception were rude , the upgrade was £30 a day each , food was always cold on telling staff they said microwave it, would suggest if your thinking of visiting this hotel then think again

The hotel is fine, with multiple pools, interesting gardens, decent food. The beach is beautiful with a mini bar strategically placed in case you get thirsty or simply want a drink. The entertainment team was a bit disappointing though. They all seem too young, with a very basic personality (it's like they're just out of high school), and the night entertainment is either trivial and boring, or just unnecessarily noisy and annoying. The problem might be of whoever directs these poor youngs and not of them directly, though. They actually seemed miserable. I highly suggest the management to change the company they hire for the entertainment assignment.

Awful! Really disappointing! Drinks, food poor. Location not great as no places close by and WIFI non-existent! Everything costs extra, sunbeds, cocktails, lime in beer, coffee, hot chocolate, processco

NOT a 4 star hotel. Should be rated 3 star so only book it this if this is what you are expecting. On arrival, we discovered 6 tiny ants under the top bed cover. I asked to move rooms and the receptionist was very rude to me. He acted as if it was perfectly normal to have ants in your bed. We did move rooms and the next room was luckily ant free! When I mentioned this to the holiday rep from Jet2holidays she said it was because we were in the countryside! I’ve stayed in other Greek islands before in the “countryside” and never experienced ants in my bed! Ha! Various parts of the hotel smelt of sewage. I have since read other reviews also mentioning this. It was so strong! All drinks, particularly the water and soft drinks, tasted of salt. I thought it was just me but other guests also mentioned this too! They are practically undrinkable. There was one member of staff - young pretty lady on reception who was lovely and so helpful. Sadly, all other staff were not friendly at all. This is the first review I’ve written on here as I’ve never felt the need but honestly, this hotel was not good at all! One final thing was that there was a farm (well they call it a mini zoo!!!) which not only smelt of animal poo but was also inhumane! What kind of hotel has this?!?!

PLEASE READ! OCTOBER 2023 Gaia Royal is not a 4 star hotel I would say a 2 star and that is only because the staff are friendly. We stayed here from the 22nd October 2023 - 27th October 2023. The first thing to mention is the extremely strong of sewage all around the hotel, especially in our room it was awful! There are cats all around the hotel even in the restaurant, they sit by your table and wait to be fed. This was so bad for me as I’m allergic to cats. I wish this was information that was given on the hotel booking information as it’s important. The food was cold and had flies flying around it from they put the food out till the time they put it away. All inclusive is not all inclusive it does not include cocktails, branded drinks or branded fizzy drinks. The hotel will offer to upgrade you to ultra inclusive to receive the above for an extra 15 Euros per person per day. The town is not as close as they say on the booking information and it will cost 29 Euros there and back so 58 euros for a trip to town. DO NOT STAY HERE!

Just returned from the Gaia royal hotel. All inclusive is not all inclusive, the drinks are not drinkable we had to purchase our own for adults and kids from the mini market and nearby supermarket. The soft drinks and alcohol were pretty disgusting. The whole of our party agreed. The foul smell of sewage is so potent at times that it makes you gag. We had red ants in our room multiple times and not just one or two. Also a cockroach, they said they would deep clean and we returned to find the dead insects still there, tv dusty and grimy black on bathroom tiles. Spotlights in our room were hanging down with wires exposed. The sockets in the bedroom were almost coming out the walls. On our last day we had check out at 12, the maids persistently kept coming back at 10 and 1030 to clean, we went to the pool to return at 1115 to use the room and they had turned the beds up, pulled in the outside furniture, fridge stacked on the bed, no towels and no toilet roll. We complained and were told it was end of season. The hotel never seemed bothered about our worries or concerns, it felt like we were in the way of them closing for the season. I wouldnt advise wasting your money, just choose somewhere else. Don't be disappointed.

We arrived at the Gaia Royal, Mastichari, Kos, on Friday 13th October… the date should have been a clue as to how the holiday was going to go! The coach dropped us off just before midnight and as we all got off, the smell of raw sewage hit us. Good start to our time at this ‘4 star hotel’. We checked in, paid over our tax money, received a ‘snack bag’ as we’d missed dinner and were taken by golf cart to our room which was a fair way up the hill close to the mini golf and mini zoo. We opened the door and surveyed our ‘four star, all inclusive room’. Very bare and very basic. The beds had a single sheet and pillow on them. There was a long white sagging shelf over the top of an empty fridge and a small TV fixed to the wall. Not a single bottle of water anywhere! No information about the hotel, not even a solitary pencil! No glasses or even a plastic cup. There was a lovely, friendly black beetle waiting for us who stayed in our room the whole week! We tried to log on to the WiFi to let family know we’d arrived safely. Got a lovely message - Gaia Royal has denied you access. The date plus that WiFi denial were harbingers of things to come! We opened our snack bags and stared very crestfallenly at the stale, hard sandwich containing a slice of plastic burger cheese and a slice of hard packet sliced ham. There was also a banana which was green and hard. Off to our wonderful beds, we decided! Next morning, we switched on the shower which triggered another gust of sewage smell coming up from the drains. We walked down the hill, past the mini golf and mini zoo to the main hotel block for our 4 star, all inclusive breakfast. We were met with what looked and felt like a school canteen at St Trinians. Children and cats racing around! We walked around the food servery counters and surveyed the offerings of cooked items swimming in pools of fat and metal trays of cold meat, cheese, pastries and fruit. The smell of raw sewage drifted around the restaurant and the squadrons of mosquitoes were out in force. We skipped lunch after the breakfast experience and headed to a pool in the afternoon to try and relax. Eventually got a sunbed and settled down to relax after the journey and enjoy our four star hotel…. So the drinks and snacks on all inclusive…. The soft drinks were concentrate diluted with water. Cheap, unpleasant and syrupy. We hope the bushes appreciated them more than we did! The alcoholic offerings were watery and bland leading me to ask was there actually gin in my gin and tonic? Water was not available on all inclusive. So that leads on to the hotel wanting you to upgrade to ‘Ultra All Inclusive’ so you could have proper drinks and water. The cost of that delight was €15 a day each and everyone on the booking had to upgrade whether they wanted it or not! That would have added another €210 to the extortionate amount we’d already paid for this fabulous four star hotel! So to dinner that evening…. We made an effort to look smart as the hotel instr

Beautiful hotel but don’t be fooled. There was an awful smell that was the sewage being drained into the field next to the hotel. You have to pay for sunbeds on the beach and cannot get a drink whilst the restaurant is closed unless you pay for it,or you managed to get a bed by one of the two only pools open-good luck! There is no entertainment except taped dance music in the lounge bar, with one Greek night that had two dancers performing. The food is repetitive and rarely warm, with choices dwindling as the week went on.The staff are rude, unhelpful and gaslight you if you complained, things disappeared from our room, although not valuable,we’re essential items to our holiday. We spent the last few days eating at the hotel next door, where they were at least glad of our custom.I very rarely complain about a hotel as we can all expect more than we should, but this was as bad as it gets in my experience as a seasoned traveller!!
