Chaweng Beach Koh Samui|0.46km from Nicky Fashion
This was our place to go whenever we visited Koh Samui. This is a small, quiet beach front boutique hotel. The staff have always been very friendly and will try their best to accommodate you. This visit we felt very unwelcome. Considering this was our 5th visit, and we were excited to be back in Koh Samui, I was expecting to have been welcome back in a nicer way. No, that did not happen. We found our bathroom was dirty, especially around the toilet, and immediately I contacted Reception, who sent someone to clean it and then asked if we wanted to change rooms. I asked why the toilet had not been cleaned in the first place, and they could not answer. I was so disappointed. I then started to notice other things that I was not happy about. We asked for the manager, who we know well and has always been very hands-on and always came to welcome us back when we returned for a visit, and they said they would send a message. The manager sent us a bottle of wine and an apology note. Well, that was very presumptuous of the manager because I don't drink!!! We returned the bottle!!! I eventually met the new manager, he's new from England. I did let him know how I felt and told him it was not very nice to step into an unclean bathroom. Excuse was they just done maintenance, I told him that's not my concern it should have been cleaned, and he accepted this should have been done. The hotel is looking very old and does not have the wow look anymore, and considering we've visited many times the hotel did have refurbishments in the room, the rest of the hotel definitely needs refurbishment. You would have thought this would have been taken care of during the lockdown. The sky roof in the breakfast area needs cleaning. The swim up bar the tile fell off and one of the guest had to show the staff member what had happened because it was sitting in the bottom of the pool which the guest went and pull up and gave to the staff member. So, to be honest it's a lovely hotel but the manager is an office person and does not really engage well with guests, which is a shame because for a small hotel he definitely needs to be ensuring his guest know who he is and to also welcome them back or thank them for visiting. He did, however, come and wave us goodbye, I suppose he's hoping we will be back. We are not sure we will visit again. We went and checked out another hotel and found other hotels charging the same and are much nicer. Changes bring better, but it did not happen on this occasion, unfortunately.

After managing to secure a booking for the 2 x Duplex Pool Villas myself and our friends were looking forward to rounding off the previous 3 weeks with a relaxing 10 Days after a long trip visiting Singapore, Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, Hanoi, Bangkok & Finally Koh Samui. The rooms booked vary between prices but generally are charged out between 4K - 8K per week so you would expect top notch facilities and service - to be fair we paid slightly less due to booking it months in advance but regardless if I had paid full price I would have been severely narked to say the least. Room Plenty of space and the infinity pool on the 2nd floor looked great in the photos on the website. The reality is shoddy workmanship is all over the rooms and the cleaning of the room is not great. (See Photos) The pool furniture is a joke - your paying top prices for basic plastic beds, ripped parasol - our friends didnt even have one. The small main pool had lovely Ratan Furniture with comfy pads and we get cheap plastic crap. *** Restaurant Staff were mainly friendly, cocktails literally had no alcohol in them and when we asked for more alcohol a couple of staff members moaned and pulled faces. Food was reasonable but Pizza base was just sloppy and not cooked so 2 pizzas we had were in the main inedible. We booked 4 meals one lunchtime, all 4 meals turned up at different times and by the time the last meal arrived 2 meals were already finished and this took over an hour. If you fancy a nice quiet drink at night forget it - last orders are 8.50am and staff are pushing you to leave the outside seating area 40 mins later regardless of wether you have finished your drinks or not. In summary its a shame that the most expensive rooms are not what is depicted on the website and why on earth the owners never checked the finishes of these is beyond me - I can only assume they were running out of money as the finishes are pitiful - other cheaper rooms locations are not great with no views whatsoever. Infinity Pool is excellent - If you are looking for a Luxury Break this is not the hotel for you !!!

Chaweng Beach Koh Samui|0.11km from Nicky Fashion
We booked through luxury escapes with the junior suite upgrade, as part of the grand reopening package, this gave us massage’s and an extra meal every day. The Positives:- our room was enormous with terrace that overlooked the sea, it was nice to wake up to sounds of lapping waves. The whole hotel has had a partial make over and a coat of paint, the gardens and water features are excellent, the pool is clean, maintained and a nice size. The massage team were very polite, professional and not pushy. Their massages are not expensive and seem to price match going further down the beach. The Neutrals:- The refurbishment is cosmetic, the electrical switches are old and yellowed, there’s no usb sockets next to the bed. There seems to be a reluctance in giving you enough towels for your room, 1 small bath towel and a flannel per person, they also provide you pool towels. Breakfast was okay, it’s a buffet service with a European selection and Thai selection, the sliced break was just suitable for toast as the crusts and edges dry out quickly. Rita who served coffee in the morning was shining example as was the chef who did a range of egg’s every morning, they both remembered our daily orders. A point of frustration for us was we didn’t find a single fork or knife that wasn’t bent. I guess the refurb’ budget didn’t go that far. The coffee was variable from okay to very bitter. Some of the table staff seem more interested in chatting amongst themselves rather clearing tables. The pool furniture is tired and in places dirty with bird droppings, the staff seem reluctant to clear used glasses. The included meals on our package were okay, not exciting, the quantity varied, but usually well presented. We ended up going out to a restaurant next to the hotel, which was excellent and great value. To swim in the sea is tide dependent, at high tide the waves come right up to and crash into the property wall and it’s impossible and unsafe to enter and walk down the beach. When the tide is out, there’s quite a lot of litter on the shore edge, which you have cross to get into sea. Another thing to consider, there are facilities for the disabled. There are no lifts, ramps toilets etc, but loads of stairs, it’s a bit of a drag going to reception to get you key card reprogrammed when it fails. If you’re unsteady on your feet give this place a wide berth. The location is about 15-20 mins or 200tb into town. Chewang beach is very lively in the evening, there is something for absolutely everyone there! There’s also a western style shopping mall and a great food court. Finally what really grated us, there’s a price list of items in our room should we break something or decide to take something. This sits really uncomfortable with us. They know the price of everything but the cost of nothing We’re happy to be moving on after 7 nights. We wouldn’t come back here and feel uncomfortable recommending it. However we’d certainly come back to Koh Samui

We stayed in a King Pool View room which was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Amaya Restaurant was excellent. There were many options for breakfast and the meals were great. Prego Italian Restaurant was exceptional, both in terms of food and service. Couldn't fault any of the Amari staff. Fantastic service and friendly smiles from everyone including Management, Reception, Restaurant staff, Spa staff, Road Crossing staff, Maintenance and Housekeeping. Special mentions go to the lovely hosts Wee and Keng who went out of their way to make us feel welcome and helped us with anything we needed to know. Also Noung who we nicknamed ”the hardest working man in Thailand”. He never stopped as he worked tirelessly in Amaya Restaurant and around the hotel grounds. The resort was a little away from the hustle and bustle but an easy walk into the centre of town. Would recommend Amari to anybody thinking of staying at Chaweng and look forward to returning there in the future.

Front desk: super friendly. 300 baht for loss card though so don’t lose it! WiFi worked well for my phone but I couldn’t sign in on the computer. A small ***** of beach right in the back of the resort. It’s east facing so if you happen to be up around 5:30-6:30 it’s a great place to watch the sunrise if it isn’t cloudy. Breakfast starts at seven but they put the juice and water out before that. I got talked to as I tried to get the juice and ice water before the time. I also got talked to when I tried to bring an uneaten plate of fruit to my room after breakfast. That did annoy me I must say. It’s a little bit away from central samui (matters in the heat) but you got your own little ***** of beach and it’s nice so I think it’s fine. The toilet lid was cheap feeling . Light seeped through a little bit in the morning. Important if you are partying until later . No real night light. If you can get it at a good price I would say go for it; there are better values out there for the nicer more expensive rooms.

It's a bit like a hotel-style apartment. The facilities are simple and old, and the hygiene is good. In the morning, you can eat fried eggs, bacon, sausages and salad set on the beach with the sea breeze. There is no beach and there is no public beach nearby (in fact, the entire beach in Koh Samui is covered) Not much better). The hotel occupancy rate is not high and it is relatively quiet. There are restaurants more than 100 meters away from the hotel (one of the restaurants with Dianping reviews also sells seafood at pre-epidemic prices, which is nearly half cheaper than other restaurants), travel agencies, Mashaji, currency exchange shops with good exchange rates, and Green Leaf Shop. Overall, with the island enacting a large-scale Spring Festival price increase of three to five times, this hotel is a decent alternative for tourists who do not pursue luxury.

Great place to stay! Lovely staff! Take good care of their customers all be it a little too much at times lol. Pool was really nice and views were amazing but the best thing for me was the access to the beach. The sea at that spot was perfect, shallow, warm and soft under foot. Sadly it's a little out of the way of night life, 15min walk. Not much of a problem but in the heat it doesn't take long to start getting super hot and in need of a shower by the time you reach chaweng main *****! All in all though for families or couples I would highly recommend.
