The hotel itself is nice with well-kept grounds, simple, clean rooms with a balcony or terrace, friendly staff, good breakfast, and even a swimming pool. I also noticed the width of the bed in the single room positively, probably 1.20 meters compared to the usual 1.00 meters. So far all good! But my rating is so low for the following reasons: 1) I slept very badly because I didn't lie very well on the mattress, which is certainly more a reflection of individual feelings. However, the large, thick pillow made it even more difficult to lie down. A second, smaller and softer pillow could easily help in my opinion. 2) Even if the statutory provisions on the Corona rules have largely fallen away, I would have liked to see more precautionary measures here: there is a dispenser with disinfectant in the entrance area and a large Plexiglas pane at the reception, both of which are completely fine with me. However, I didn't like the processes in the breakfast room at all: I think it's reasonable that the breakfast buffet is either protected by plexiglass walls (open at the bottom like at the reception) or the guests wear masks when they go to the buffet. But especially I think I can reasonably be expected that the employees in the breakfast room should continue to wear FFP2 masks and thus contribute to protection against infection! There are still people who are at increased risk due to their age and/or previous illnesses. It is important that these people are also in a Hotel felt safe and secure Without these two points of criticism, which I believe can be remedied with little effort and at low cost, it would have easily been four stars.

We booked a Groupon voucher for a night only with breakfast and can follow the good reviews of our predecessors, immediately the charm and atmosphere of the 1832-based hotel captured us. The staff were exceptionally friendly, premature and competent. Although the swimming pool was renovated, the sauna was open, the lift was well filled, and water was ready to refresh, also hot water for coffee or tea was offered in the swimming pool, which I found very careful. We had dinner in the hotel for the evening. The food was of sound, good quality, we had the Bergische Krustchen Teller and the vegan dish, also the goat cheese on honey and Balsamico was delicate as pre-food. Excellent result is the Bergische Landbier. The well-presented caipirinhas in the cozy bar, which is the historical ”Old Economy”, probably the oldest building, is also recommended for the sound of a successful evening. Also at breakfast there was nothing to make, it is high quality, and for every taste there is something. Remarkable here is that, again, a lot of choice is also thought of for vegans and people who want to eat lactose or gluten free. But also a British breakfast with S*****en, rhei and spice could have been done without any more, and there is also a lot of choice for the musli and cereal group, rounded up with juices and fresh fruit. The beds very comfortable, the room quietly behind, from the street you don't get anything with. Do not fail to watch the spectacles with dedications of prominent guests, really impressive who was already guest, for example Inge Meysel, Hannelore Elsner, Maria Schell, Horst Frank, Pierre Brice, Heidi Kabel, Ivan Rebroff, Gustav Knuth, Ingrid Steeger, Vico Torriani, Rudi Carrell, Heidi Mahler, Hans Clarin, Erik Ode, Uschi Glass and many others.. We can recommend the hotel without exception. Even who plans a celebration is well lifted, as there are a large number of beautiful spaces, for a wedding the mirror hall is not to be top. Overall remember beautiful pictures and lovely arranged accessories of past times. The area is offered for extensive hiking. If you return after a long march in nature with dust-in-shoes, you enjoy that there is also a shoe cleaner ...(-:
