Colonial House Motel

The anxiety of ”landing” there in the dark,in an oversized rental car was immediately reduced by the owner's greeting and assistance. Even though we didn't know to order breakfast in advance, he, without question brought us all the great ingredients for what my friend and I enjoy for the morning. Our convenient 2 bedroom cottage with fully furnished kitchen in the quiet of a tropical atmosphere, only 20 min walk from town, fit every bill. Very nice pool, especially if you're okay with a polar dip, but that's the fault of very cool nights. This is not glitzy, or modern, but for us was preferable to that which you can get in any big city.

This is a hidden treasure. Its tucked away from everything but is walking distance to the shops. The grounds are very well kept and well landscaped. The pool area with seats and BBQs was awesome and well used. There is a spa as well but we didnt use it. The rooms are more like a hotel and very well appointed. Nothing has been overlooked and all amenities well thought out. The bed was super comfy, the linen above expectation. The staff were friendly and helpful. A tub of all amenities was left in our room with a note saying that the room would not be serviced on New Years Day as they gave most of the team the day off to spend with their families. I really liked this as it showed the managers of the property care about their staff. Overall I was impressed and I look forward to staying here again.
Wharepuke Subtropical Accommodation

It can be understood as the house of a privately run small villa hotel. The entire hotel is in the style of a subtropical rainforest with many plants. Small single houses are among these rainforest plants. Visitors or guests can visit the various plants in the hotel garden, as well as the hotel's small gallery, which also has a restaurant run by Hong Kong people. Each small house is separate and does not interfere with each other. The house is fully equipped with air conditioning, living room, bedroom, kitchen and washroom. The kitchen is fully equipped and can be cooked with salt and black pepper. But there is no oil. The room has a lot of floor-to-ceiling glass, and it looks great in the morning and it feels great! Especially in the morning, basking in the sun on the terrace for breakfast, think about how great this feeling is! I really like it.
