Stopped for 1 night and had a good nights sleep, Comfortable bed with lovely sheets, great hot shower and fluffy towels. The bathroom floor did look like it could do with a good clean and the internet is terrible. We could hear road noise and in the morning could hear people moving around upstairs. It is an older style motel but the price reflects this.

The owner, Gina, opened the office up with a smile and a welcome. There was only a two bedroom family unit available which we happily took. To our surprise Gina only charged us for a single room unit rate. That says all you need to know about the owners. They made us feel like family. The units are well designed, convenient, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The location was perfect for exploring the northern peninsular and our one night stopover was extended to three nights. Certainly the best Motel we found on our two week road trip around the North Island. We highly recommend Kaitaia Motor Lodge and certainly plan to return.
