Manxin Properties in Kaifeng

On a spontaneous road trip through Henan, we booked this hotel right next to the Drum Tower. The room was tiny; there wasn't even a private spot in the bathroom to change. The 'scenic view' room offered a nice panoramic view of the Drum Tower, which was a plus. However, being above the Drum Tower night market meant it was incredibly noisy at night. The room window was broken and they were fixing it until after 10 PM. Once it was finally closed, it did quiet down. We paid for breakfast vouchers, only to find out the next morning that no one was checking them. The breakfast area was packed, and while they gave out electronic pagers for the noodle station, it was pure chaos and a free-for-all. On the bright side, the hotel has its own parking lot and EV charging stations, which was very convenient. After checking out, the hotel called asking for a good review, which I found incredibly annoying. It makes me suspect their high ratings are probably inflated.

This was my first time staying at this hotel, and overall, I found everything to be excellent. From the service to the facilities, the staff's attitude, and even the breakfast – there wasn't a single thing I was unhappy with. The location is also very convenient for transportation. The staff even kindly helped me carry my luggage up to my room, and I was offered complimentary welcome fruits. It was a very thoughtful gesture.
