The Westin Maui Resort & Spa, Ka'anapali
4.5/5108 Reviews
We had a brief but really fun stay here at the Westin Maui Resort and Spa. We were warmly greeted by the sweetest staff member, Megumi. She heard that it was our dream one day to stay here and for our 16th anniversary we made it happen, and she surprised us with Leis! It was incredible. The staff here are attentive and kind and so welcoming! Michael with Maui Gold pineapples made sure to tell us all about the resident HUGE fish in the Koi pond, a cousin to the piranha, whose name is “Mitch”. The kids loved the fun facts he shared, as well as offering us some of his delicious Maui Gold Pineapple and some chocolate buckeyes he generously shared with us. The lobby had our complimentary coffee for guests from 6-9am, and a fun flamingo (yes, there are FLAMINGOS!) and koi feeding at 9am. Upon arrival we were also given two complimentary tickets to grab a cocktail or mocktail at their poolside bar. There were other complimentary offerings as well that we did not take advantage of. The kids spent most of their time on the waterslides. Poolside seating can be difficult to find if you arrive later than 10am, but if you’re patient and keep an eye out, a space usually opens up. The location can’t be beat as it’s directly next door to Whalers, which has great shopping and restaurants that are beachfront. Awesome snorkeling at Black Rock is a short 5-7 min beach walk from the hotel. We were really happy with our stay! Our room faced the mountains and we had a gorgeous view of the sunrise. There are private adult only hot tubs (one infinity sand bottom!) and pools as well. Water bottle filling stations are found on the lobby floor. Excellent choice for families. $35 self park fee or $45 valet.
Hilton Vacation Club Ka'Anapali Beach Maui

I booked a garden view room for 3 to 4 people. The room is huge and beyond imagination. In fact, it is a two-bedroom, one living room with a corner balcony, and a kitchen dining table. Although it is not facing the sea, the mountain scenery on the opposite side is extremely beautiful, the sky is high and the ground is wide, and the clouds are floating. In addition to the large room, the rest is lackluster, the overall is outdated, the swimming pool is average, the beach is narrow, and the infrastructure is still being constructed between the two to block the passage, which makes the space on the seaside cramped. Downstairs, there is a small night market square consisting of several food trucks, and there are also several businesses selling T-shirts and handmade wood carvings. The overall grade of the hotel is 3-4 stars, the experience is average, and the price/performance ratio is acceptable, so I don't recommend it.
Aston at the Whaler on Kaanapali Beach

The environment is not bad, it is cost-effective, very close to the mall, no parking fee, very warm, a welcome necklace is sent as soon as you enter the door, recommended. And there is a refrigerator, microwave oven, suitable for supermarkets to buy things to live
The Westin Nanea Ocean Villas, Ka'Anapali

This hotel in Maui is really wonderful. Except for a little later. There are too many advantages: the hotel upgraded my two-bedroom room. Surprise! The hotel is equipped with washing machine, dryer, microwave, oven, hob, fridge. Just go buy some spices. You can make Wellington steaks. The hotel pool is large and has its own beach. The hotel has a shuttle bus to and from Lahaina. One hour a day! There is a barbecue outside the hotel and you can prepare your own ingredients for a barbecue. The air conditioning in the hotel aisle is super cold, super cold, super cold! Disadvantages: It may be because the room is on the first floor, and all the mosquitoes in my room! Super, more, more, more, more! ! ! However, the air conditioner is lower, and basically does not bite. It is very cautious to look at. Let's talk about Lahine's Ole, the discount is the same as Ouhu, but there is no superposition of UnionPay. If you need to buy something, go to Ouhu. It’s much cheaper. I lost 100 knives because I didn’t hold back. Finally, the resort fee is 25/night, parking by yourself, 15/night plus tax, valet parking 20/night plus tax. The report is completed.
Marriott's Maui Ocean Club - Molokai, Maui & Lanai Towers

My family and friends stayed at Marriott's Maui Ocean Club for 5 weeks over Christmas, New Year's and into mid- January. We had one unit for 3 weeks and 2 units for a week each. All of our rooms were clean, well maintained and functional. The staff was very helpful as we changed rooms and they stored our groceries for us. The hot tubs and community kitchen were closed due to covid which is understandable. The beach chairs were socially distanced and cleaned quickly after people left. The staff was always friendly and ready to help. The best example of this was Marynor, she found my new pair of sunglasses which I must have lost getting out of the car in the parking ramp and turned them in. I was thrilled to get them back because I figured I lost them and whoever found them would keep them. This was my 7th stay at the Marriott, my favorite place to stay on Maui and I will definitely return. Mahalo to the Maui Marriott team and especially Marynor for another amazing vacation.
Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa
4.2/5109 Reviews
I used the TripAdvisor reviews in addition to some personal suggestions and choose the Sheraton. Of the several resorts on this stretch of beach, the Sheraton has the hands-down best location. Because it's at the end of the beach, you have a lot less people walking by the beach side of the hotel. We chose the Moana oceanfront room which is a great choice if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle of the pool area and enjoy lots of peace and quiet from your balcony. Moana also offers separate and very convenient self parking (vs valet). Initially it can be very confusing to get to/from pool area but once you do it a few times, you get the lay of the land. Beaches are public and the hotel charges for lounge and umbrella rentals at beach ... and the rentals are only available until 4pm. The BEST thing to do is before you check in, go to Boss Frogs on Lahainaluna Rd (off Front St) in Lahaina and rent beach chairs and umbrella for the week ($25 per item for the week). You can also rent snorkeling gear. And because everything in Hawaii is so expensive, on your way from airport stop at Target, Walmart, or Costco (all close to airport) and buy some food, snacks, water, etc. for your room. Rooms have mini fridges and microwaves. We bought muffins and took them down to the lobby each morning where we bought coffee at the Sandbar. Enjoy Maui!!!
