La Sirena Playa Jaco Hotel

10/10! Having travelled around the north of Costa Rica for a month my husband and I have stayed in around 8 hotels / Airbnb's. Mostly high-end accommodation. We booked La Sirena for the last 3 nights of our stay. The owner Michael was really friendly and welcoming and Angela receptionist / all-around help and support was eager to help with anything we needed. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Just a 2-minute walk to the beach too. They offer a great breakfast, typical Costa Rican style or freshly made pancakes with fresh fruit. 10/10!

Excellent week long stay! Key highlights include the location (steps from the beach), great pool, stellar landscaping and atmosphere (attention to detail), super clean, rooms include many amenities and is a very comfortable/relaxing space, friendly/attentive staff including owners Mike and Lilian who are incredible hosts - will go above and beyond to make your stay memorable and meet your wants/needs (accommodate your asks and also make excellent recommendations). Highly recommend a stay at La Sirena - top notch relaxation and surf/beach vibes.

So the positive first - cute hotel and very close to the beach. Receptionist was very sweet and the pool was clean and a nice option to have. Areas for improvement - there was no breakfast as advertised on their website. Not only that, there was no bartender or food available either. HUGE disappointment. Also never received the free bottles of water listed on their amenities. Here’s a big one - no full service spa. I think you can request to have someone come to your room but this is advertised as a full service spa on site???? Lastly, when these things were brought to their attention they refused to give us $ consideration and offered a free breakfast (from the restaurant that isn’t open?) the day we were leaving. Not my idea of customer service for false advertising. Lots of construction next door and the guys working there are VERY loud and partying until 11 pm. Whistling and carrying on. Simply just not ok. Understand the hotel can’t control but you should be aware before booking. Would not stay here again.

We went to Jaco, Costa Rica for our first trip out of the country since the pandemic began. Mike and Lillian, the owners of the La Sirens boutique hotel met us as we pulled into the hotel parking lot. They took really good care of us and so did Uriel their go to guy at La Sirena. The beach sunsets are exquisite, ocean temp was about 85 and there were lots of beautiful birds (scarlet macaws) flying about. We saw monkeys on a boat trip in the mangroves and even visited a chocolate farm. We did a day trip to Tortuga Island and saw whales breaching out of the Pacific Ocean on the way. Wonderful hikes near Jaco, with expansive vistas atop mountains surrounding Jaco. The local restaurants were very good- uniquely prepared ( sea bass steamed in banana leaves). La Sirena itself is clean and everyone is friendly. I slept very well. I will be returning. Thank you Mike and Lillian for making this vacation so special. Pura Vida!

Charming, casual, family-run boutique hotel very near the beach. Breakfast included. Restaurant serves dinner Thursday through Sunday. Bar is open practically any time. The entire staff is eager to help and goes out of their way to make you happy and comfortable, and will even do extras like drive you to and from a restaurant in town if you don't feel like walking. It's not fancy, but it's well maintained, very clean, has good Wi-Fi and A/C, a lovely pool area, and is run by the nicest people. I have no complaints and was sad to leave!

La Sirena is a hidden gem! Steps away from a beautiful sandy beach which was perfect for swimming. .🌊🏝️☀️ We arrived on a Saturday evening and were met by the owners Mike and Lillian. Too tired to go out exploring for a restaurant, we had dinner at the hotel and was pleasantly surprised by the fresh seafood and yummy appetizers we were served. It may have been the best dinner we had in Costa Rica all week! Our room was great for sleeping, which is not always easy to come by. Comfy and clean. Loved our time there. We will definitely return!

Wow! Right next to the beach- literally! We never ate there, but did use the bar. Our kids were in the pool often so it was good. Mike helped us with great restaurant recommendations and staff were nice. Felt safe the whole time. Really spacious rooms. Air conditioning worked well. However, beds/pillows were not super comfy for sleeping.

We stayed a couple of days and it was very enjoyable. The location is hidden, but a minute walking distance to the beach which is not crowded at all. The hotel is nice family own and operated. Great customer service.

La Sirena with hosts Mike and Lilian was the most relaxing family vacation we have had in a long time. Luxury rooms right by the pool, waking up to birds chirping, only steps from the South Pacific warm ocean waters with legit 6-10 foot waves. No need to wait for another set, there are constant powerful waves out and plenty of waves near the beach for the kids to play. Back drop of mountains is amazing.Folks are sleeping on Costa Rica, mix of 1800's Wild Wild West with 2022 Las Vegas with the beauty beyond compare. The hosts took excellent care of us, every accommodation is thought out. Fishing is a 30 minute boat ride to Mahi Mahi, dolphins jumping. Rainy season was great with a little cloud cover, rained during the day one time, all the rain is blown inland during the day and rains late at night. Best hosts you could ask for with advantage of English and Spanish speaking, Highly recommend!
