LifeBoat Kangaroo Island

LifeBoat is a recently completed beach house on the esplanade at Island Beach. Architecturally designed by award winning architects Williams Burton, it is a house that effectively combines luxury living with a relaxed beach house feel. The front of the house consists of a master bedroom with ensuite and free-standing bath, kitchen and family room all with views to the beach (even the bath). The living room＇s large sliding doors open onto a deck big enough for entertaining, but just as good for an afternoon snooze. The stylish kitchen has a large bespoke wooden table around which the family can gather for meals, board games or to enjoy a glass of wine. A sundrenched day bed is another spot on which to relax while enjoying the view to the sand. Up a half staircase, past a built-in bookcase housing varied reading and games selections, there is a second living area including a second TV and a Wii console for the kids as well as a comfortable fold down queen size bed. This upper part of the house also has 2 bunk rooms, a laundry and family bathroom. Outside, the beach is right there with easy access and at the back of the house, the rear deck has an outdoor hot shower. Island Beach is only 15 minutes from the ferry terminal at Penneshaw and is a quiet, idyllic spot - one of the only north facing beaches in South Australia.
